I've spent all of 2008 planning, founding, organizing, and running a writing workshop called Women Writing in Asheville. We meet at Atlanta Bread on Merrimon the 1st Saturdays and 3rd Mondays of every month at 7pm. If anyone is interested in joining, here are the links for you:

We're having a lot of fun so far! There are writers from many genres including nonfiction, science-fiction/fantasy, memoir, paranormal romance, just to name a few. Our next meetings are October 4 (Saturday) and October 20 (Monday).

I've been a member of this group since it started, and I'm totally digging it. I think we're tossing around the idea of a NaNo side meet-up?
Last year, I really did more talking than writing at the NaNo write-ins. I want to make sure I'm actually writing, not *just* socializing this time. *blush* I need slave-drivers to help keep me on the ball.

Oh don't you worry. Now that I have "power" I am going to make sure we have lots of word war + general writing goodness! Mwahaha!
Since you get to organize 3 meetups per organizer account I am absolutely going to create a NaNo one! I'm going to call it NaNo in the Off-Season or something like that! Basically write-in/edit-ins for the other 11 months of the year!
