Hi!

I'm Ginny from Hamilton (Mercer County) and I'm going for my third Nanowrimo. I'm really feeling it this year. I have a genre (steampunk) and a title (January First) and a strange format (only journal entries dated Jan. 1st for fifty years running). I'm currently kicking around ideas for the name of my main character's rock band. Yea me!

So, what's everyone else doing?

Tatra here from Trenton(Mercer County) with a plot and everything. Fantasy/humor/insanity about a guy trying to get himself kicked out of boarding school. And of course there are faeries with their own magic.

So, is anyone here attending Mercer County Community College? Because that would be cool.

HI all,

I thought Katie would have signed in all ready. But I guess not. I'm from Middlesex County.

I have my character and my plot. I know where I'm going, I just have to get there.

Just checking in to see if my signature works today. Ah, I did a preview and...no signature.

Greetings, cohorts. I'm lodged in the middle of Hunterdon county. I have an inkling of an idea on what I'm doing, but I'm not sure yet.

Got a main concept, a genre, and a prelim title. I don't worry about it, the subconcious has it all well in hand. I keep getting flashes of stuff, which I refuse to think deeply about.

One night, around 3AM, I will have the entire plot drop into my head. Or it will happen in the shower. Or right in the middle of a conversation. That's its revenge for me loading it up with work and not helping out.

Hey~

I'm Jamie, Senior in HS thus no county or anything from me, going for my third NaNo win in a row~. Been excited since Lat Aug this year, yay~! Hopefully I can get my parents to order me my NaNo08 shirt soon, cause I love wearing it during NaNo. x3 Currently I have a plot, MC and Secondary Char, as well as a basic flow of how I want it to turn out. Basically, I have point A and B, just not much of the C to whatever that goes inbetween. xD

Hey guys! I'm a Junior in HS and I live in Hunterdon. I have not the faintest idea of what I'll be writing about or anything but hopefully I'll figure it out soon!

My friend Kellie92 should be around here somewhere too.

Awww my post got erased. Oh well.

Welcome back everybody!

I'm Katie from Somerville back for a 5th year of noveling pain. Bring it on. :D

*will post a more "official" sounding post tonight*

As for what I'm doing, I decided to re-write my 2nd year NaNo from scratch. I really like the story but the first time around turned out kinda flat This time around will be more character-driven and I'll be filling in some old plot holes....like the entire ending.

Hey all!

I'm Frank from Howell (Monmouth County) and this is just my second nano after having to put it aside for my last two years of school. I won the first, and intend to win this one as well! Last time I did Neil Gaiman-esque fantasy, but this time around I'm getting a bit more philosophical and metaphysical and trying out that wonderful is-and-isn't genre of literary fiction.

Looking forward to November with you guys!

Hi everyone,

I'm Jamie. This will be my 5th year. I'm not sure what I will be writing yet. I might do what Katie is doing, starting my 2nd nano over from scratch with a whole new plot, etc., keeping only the characters. I also have a picture that is giving me ideas for one story and a good opening line for another. We'll see what happens November 1st.

Jamie

I really dont wanna give to much away about my story and its definitely going to have no pre writing, but its about a girl who gets sucked back in time to witch trial era in in Salem, MA and she finds out she is a witch and she owns a sacred coin which is a power source for a bad machine, and it gets stolen and she has to get it back through a series of travels. This will be my 2nd year of NaNoWriMo.

hey everyone!

first-time nano-er here, junior in high school in monmouth county.

I'm currently juggling 3 ideas:

one is a romantic comedy set in the 40's about a P.I. who loses his memory during a case.

one is a collection of 4 intertwined shorter stories told by 4 people playing poker together at a wedding where the bride is absent.

and the last one is still completely amorphous in my head, but it looks like it's going to turn out to be some crazy metaphysical pile of schlock about the concept of heaven and hell. we'll see.

BUT YEAH, so basically as of now I have no idea what I'm writing about. If Nov.1 rolls around and I still have no idea, maybe I'll throw caution to the winds and combine all 3 ideas. just make the most incomprehensible novel known to man. heh.

I imagine I should probably introduce myself too, since I'm definitely new to Central Jersey - well, to all of Jersey, really.

Just moved here from Los Angeles for my first year of college, and am ridiculously overwhelmed and not sure if I'm actually going to write this year or not. I have started half-seriously in previous years, but usually school has gotten in the way (sucks to be a student during NaNo...). Probably going to be the same thing here, although I had hoped being able to go to write-ins would help (write-ins in California were too far away, because our region simply covered way too much area). Although, I lack transportation, so everything that isn't within walking distance will probably not happen.

Have had hundreds of ideas crowding my head for years. Not sure which one will seize me n Nov. 1, but we'll see.

gingerpeaches, and Synthrael, I just learned what steampunk was a few months ago and love that there's a WORD to describe my personal style. How cold I not know this before??? It's AWESOME.

And mercury - oh. my. God. The combination of those three could possibly be the most brilliant novel I have ever heard of. Or, it could be the most confusing novel I've ever heard of. Or, paradoxically BOTH. You could totally pull it off though, using the poker players to tie it all together. Good luck with that. Definitely want to see how that goes.

lol, I know you were, but it *could* actually work. It could also... not work... but hey, isn't that what Nano's about? The craziest, whackiest ideas out there?

And hell, it'd be fun to write.

Hey guys. :)

First Nanowrimo for me. I'd heard about this last year and thought to myself, "Maybe next year."

After realizing I thought the same thing just a few weeks ago regarding this year, I decided to get it together and stop putting it off.

My name's Tony. I'm a Senior in college, finishing up a Bachelor's in Computer Science. I've had several ideas for novels swimming through my head ever since the middle of high school, and its time to get them out in some form.

The idea I'm attempting is about a conman who is a general goods vendor in New York City in 2040, during a huge economic recession. He's the go to guy for anything and everything, so those who are well aware of his shady business deals have no real choice but to do business with him. After a woman known only as Julie moves in and steals some of his business, they become better acquainted and she sucks him in to a world ridden with murder, conspiracy, and corruption.

No idea exactly what will go on from there. Hoping to make it something simple, but fun.

I probably should've posted here first. Silly me. Hey, I'm Alex from Middlesex County. Colonia to be exact. I'm new to this whole NaNoWriMo and I think it looks like a load of fun. Ideas are already stockpiling in my head but I've already settled on one. I'm just about to get my Associate's from Middlesex County College. Just have to finish this semester and the next and I'll have it! That'll be a big accomlishment for me. Hopefully I'll get the chance to meet some of you during November.

Anyways, the idea I have isn't entirely fleshed out. I just have the title. I'm going to call it The Pencil Lord. Make of it what you will. It's definately going to be in the adventure genre though. Or maybe fantasy.

Hey, All.
I'm Marisa from Scotch Plains...back for my second year. (Except last year I was Marisa from Lawrenceville...I am sneaking about the state when you're not looking.) This year I'm writing a post-apocalyptic fairy tale. Can't wait for the craziness to begin!

I'm not really in Central Jersey full-time anymore, but I'll post anyway in case I do happen to come home on a weekend where there's something going on.

I'm Caitlin, originally from Old Bridge but now I'm down in South Jersey for college. This'll be my seventh NaNo and hopefully the first year I'll actually make it out to some of the events.

I'm in (Lawrence)ville. I am doing a story set in a donut (yes, DONUT) shop, over a 30 day span. Each day will be influenced by album liner notes written by Stan Cornyn in the 1960s. :-)

Karin here, from Rutgers New Brunswick (though I think I'm actually in Piscataway ...). I don't know the area very well, and if I go to any write-ins I'll be depending on buses, since I don't have a car ...

Anyway, I've been trying to plan my novel and trying to get ahead in my homework so that I'll be able to dive into Nano without any real worry.

So ... how's everybody else?

Hi~

This is my first Nanowrimo because I completely missed last year's. I'm so excited~ :D
So far, I have absolutely nothing but a vague memory of a dream I had and a messy piece of paper with a couple of points that were scribbled when I woke up. But, I know that something will be written down once I get my thoughts organized.
Oh. And I'm just a freshman in HS...Hehe :]

Hey,

I live in Laurence Harbor, also considered Old Bridge.

My story is heavily fantasy based. It takes place in Old Norse(Norway). It is about a girl running from demons(who has a touch of foresight; not girl not the demons) and runs straight into a man from the Saami clans, whom she befriends and who helps her in her quest(whatever that may be, not quite sure of a few points still.)

FYI-The Saami peoples are sort of like our Indians that lived in the Northern regions of Norway, Sweden, Finland and some of Northern Russia. It is actually certain migrating tribes of these people who crossed over a ice land bridge and came into the America to become our Indians. There are also some similarities in their myths, like there were certain Saami peoples who could shift in sea creatures or bears(don't ask me why it's only those categories, I have no idea) and could control certain aspects of nature. (Isn't it amazing the things you can learn when you research for a story, lol)

Sounds interesting to me, but we'll see how it comes out. :)
