During NaNoWriMo we customarily hold meet-ups each Saturday for the duration of the month, with special meet-ups both the Saturday before November and directly following it in December.
These meet-ups are held at The Malt Cross, 16 St. James's Street, Nottingham, NG1 6FG (which can be located either via Google Maps or, if you know a little about Nottingham, is located on the road between the Lloyds TSB and Scarborough Building Society just off Beast Market Hill, just up from the Town Square).
Once inside, if you go up the stairs we're quite hard to miss - we sit by the upstairs bar and if you can't see us you can probably hear us; if you're a bit lost, some of the staff are familiar with us and asking where "the writers" or "the mad people" are will usually get you pointed to us.
Our Google Calendar can be found both here and at the top of the page and has every meet-up listed. If you are more Facebook-orientated, we have a Notts Nanoers group which also contains meeting dates.
The meets are usually more social than writing-orientated, although you can certainly try writing during them if you like - some attempt it with more success than others. ;) The Malt Cross has a couple of plug sockets available should they be needed.
Everyone is welcome to the meets, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Are the directions okay?

The directions are fine, I think it's me that will be the problem.....
I'll stumble in at some point, rest assured. I should be able to track it down.
What sort of numbers are normally there?
(I'm bringing a friend who assures me is registered on here, as well)

Well... Off-season, we've usually got between 8-12 people, I guess. On-season, like now... it's hard to estimate. Quite a few more people turned up at the first meet of the month than I'd been expecting, and since then a few more people have joined on the forums.
I'm guessing maybe... 25 to 30 people might be there? :o

Eck! That's hundreds.
Is there a forum section for just general garble? I have a few pointless questions to ask, and I don't really fancy wasting space on here. That would be just rude.

There are quite a few forums...eheh.
More specifically, if you've got a question about the NaNo Rules there's the Rules, Regulations and Other Minutiae Forum, if you're looking for some (very) random tips on getting to 50,000 words there's the informatively titled Reaching 50,000! Forum and for like-minded genre writers, there are a small ton of Genre Lounges...
Although we're all for wasting space here too. :3

I think at our last meet we peaked at a hair under 20. Tomorrow, who knows - but I can well imagine we'll have to co-opt some extra tables!

I am first to send apologies. Life interfered with my plans to leave the house today. Sorry.
I'm also uncertain about next week as I'm promised to my monthly role playing group in the day. I'm sure all of youse are able to have fun without me anyhoo. Ho hum, here's to, erm, possibly the 8th... (the most likely candidate for me tbh is the 22nd).

I may turn up. Then again, maybe not. Sainsbury's is supposed to be delivering my food between 9 & 10 tomorrow morning. I still haven't decided if I'm going to compete this year.

Ahoy all!
Depending on whether my friend wakes up soon enough and lets me out of his house (yes, I'm actually locked in), I may pop in to say hello to you all. Figures you'll probably not get the chance to read this until *after* the meeting, but I thought this would be a good opportunity to make my first post.
If I don't see you, then I hope you all have a great time!
Mike

Och, I couldnae make it on account of prior commitments. What annoys me most is that I may not be able to make the second one, either.
DAMN IT, I'LL TRY.
P.S. What happened? Anybody get drunk and hump a chandelier?

How dare you suggest such a thing! We are the very model of restraint and refinery!
Yeah, okay.
Besides, the ceiling's too high, and they've just a got a big skylight... :P

So fun are these meet-ups and so much do I long for winning the unicorn that I’ve now managed to arrange it so I can be there for a couple of hours this coming weekend before I’m off to a wedding.
If anyone wants a laugh, get there before noon and see me prove the maxim that one is always better to be overdressed than underdressed for an event.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the skylight, innit.
Also, being overdressed amongst the Malt Cross decor is like matching dolphin-calls with Mariah Carey: impossible.

We're usually still around until about 3 or 4 PM, so you're completely safe turning up after 1 PM.
Although there may be quite a long wait for food after then, sadly. :o

I should be at the next meet, provided I'm feeling a little better by Saturday, but I won't be at the one on the 15th, unless a miracle takes place, and I'm not sure about the 29th.
