Hi, everybody!
Welcome back!
It's almost October, which means it's almost November! Introduce, or re-introduce yourself here...then have at the forums!
I'm SlyCrow, I have been doing this for almost too many years to remember, but I have never gotten even half-way to 50,000 words. I have a couple of daughters, one may be able to spell enough words this year to make a story herself...we'll see. Hope to see you around the forums, and maybe at some of the get-togethers, too.

Hi! I'm Heather and last year was my first. This year, I'm ready and rarin' to go again. Hoping to win again, though I have even more on my plate this year than I did last (additional items since last year including, but not limited to, a part time job to go with my FT job, an online college course through FRCC, an extra dog, and being on a dodgeball team). I'm a mom of two boys, a wife, and work full-time as a paralegal in downtown Boulder. Good luck everyone!! I hope we can all get together downtown at times like we did last year - that was SO. MUCH. FUN.

I'm Rachel. ^^; I've done Nano since 2005, but last year was the first that I actually sat myself down and won. :) I'm looking forwards to pestering the rest of you with my goofy self-indulgent story.

I'm Mongoose, your friendly forum ghost ^-^ I've done Nano the past three years, won the past two and will be stalking the Boulder forums since my current location is lacking both forums and friends. This year I'm taking the hint I got last year and continuing to work on my trilogy (I'll finish it eventually ^-^') and hopefully much writing shall be accomplished ^-^ (and somebody poke Vocal for me at the tea spot)

Thank you ^-^ Being halfway across the country makes it rather hard to poke the Vocal. And the burrito was hiding, it didn't want to be eaten (and I'm blanking on who you are and how you know that story)

I'm only a lowly highschool student. Last year was my first year and I won. Yay. I hope to accomplish the same this year (I certainly don't see it working out any other way). Unfortunately last year was a bit lonely and I knew absolutely no one to complain to who would understand. I go to Niwot High School where NanoWrimo is not quite as talked about as previous schools I've attended (the first year I heard about it about half way through november of my freshman year...they made IB seniors do it as part of the curriculum) So hopefully this year I can raise the awareness of nanowrimo in my peers and get a few buddies to endure with. Perhaps if I hear of any write ins that don't consist of all adults, I'll go. (I'm just a little hesistant to make friends with 40 year olds...not that theres anything wrong with that. But I can barely make friends with people my age...so you know)
So far I have no CLUE what I'm going to write about. So it should be an interesting year :)

I'm KTMcLey or Kelli, depending on who I'm talking to. I've done Nano since 2005 and won every year but last year (got really sick in November last year. Sucked big-time).
This year I've had a little bit of a change of status. I've gotten divorced and left Louisville. I'm now living at the Boulder Mountain Lodge in the canyon and working there as well. I have two jobs this year, and I'm homeschooling my 12 year old son who lives in my little tine efficiency with me. It should be interesting to see how much I get done this year. I have the bulk of my research done, though, and I'm sometimes eager for November to start to I can get to writing, but if I slap myself a few times the feeling passes.

Hello! My name is Whomever, and I'm a junior in high school. I started doing NaNo freshman year and won, tried again sophomore year but slumped, but I'm hoping to reach 50K again this year, even if the the story I'm planning on writing was planned about a year ago and I forget most of the details. :Db
As well as winning, this year I also plan to attend more write-ins, both in Boulder and hopefully a few at my school.

Hi everyone. I'm Kristy, and though I've done NaNo a couple times before, I've never done it here in Boulder. (We just moved here a couple months ago.) Anyway, I'm really excited about this year; not just at the prospect of winning, but also the prospect of meeting new friends. So... see ya at the write-ins! :)

Hello everybody. For those who don't know me, (i.e. everybody) Mary's the name, attempting to wrestle my way though writing an actual complete novel is the game. I joined halfway through last year, but never went to any get together because I was vacationing in New Mexico for Thanksgiving break. Only got 10,000 words, too.
I'm a highschool student and, having learned from last year's mistakes, am looking forward to writing for the whole month, in Boulder, this year, and hopefully enlisting my friend into the ranks of NaNoWriMo-ers, if I can convince her to give up her November.

Hey everyone! My name's Julia, and I've done Nano twice before, but last year I didn't. (Year before that, and year before that I did.) I'm back with a vengeance this year! Hopefully I'll be able to make it to some meets! I can't wait for November!

Hey all, Tammi here... I started doing NaNoWriMo two years ago... won my first year... didn't even get past 5k last year! (*Grumbles about 40 hour work weeks and Christmas shopping customers*)
This year I hope to at least pass the halfway mark. I did most of my writing in 2006 at home and at Panera - I know I saw one other Boulder girl there once, but I don't remember her name... only the cool tail she had on. This year I have a feeling I will be at the Peaberry Coffee Shop as much as possible!
Good luck fellow crazies... let us make it to 50k together!

Ditto to a fellow retailer, Lady Doom. I know that I was ready to call off Christmas before we were two weeks into November. This year I have a little more responsibility at that job, not to mention a second job, so this year should be interesting. I'm hoping to get some time away from both jobs and home in order to get something done this year, but I'm at the mercy of the Nederland bus this year, which, I have to add, has the most bizarre schedule I've ever seen. I may just be stuck up here at a beautiful, quiet, peaceful lodge with my overly-talkative 12 year old son. We'll see how it goes.

Howdy!
I mostly go by William, but choose as you may.
I am a NaNo n00b, and I am excited to give this the old college try.
I have lived in Boulder my whole life, though I missed being a native by a couple of months. The only interruptions for November so far should be my full time job, and my loving wife, family, and friends...
I will keep my eyes out for you, and if I see you frantically typing somewhere in public, I will do my best to encourage.
Good Luck Everyone!

So where is everyone planning on writing? I'm hoping to at least spot one or two of you pounding away at your keyboards while I'm out at a coffee shop or elsewhere.
I can't wait for the first.

Hey everybody. My name is Jassen, and I'm a refugee from Fort Collins for the time being due to work (I hate commuting). Last year was my first NaNoWriMo, after several years of thinking about it. Hit 50k last year, but the story was incredibly lacking in many ways. Just came up with my plot idea for this year a few minutes ago, and I'm hoping to produce something worth the time of other people to read.
I absolutely loved the Fort Collins and Greeley write-ins last year, with everybody suffering together, so I look forward to experiencing 30 days of literary awkwardness with other Boulder writers.
Peace,
-Jassen

Hi, my name is also Rachel. It's a common name, get used to it. This is my first time doing NaNo- I found out about it one magical night as my boyfriend and I were walking into Ricon Del Sol and he assumed that I knew what NaNoWriMo was, being a writer and all. When I informed him that I had no idea what he was talking about he let me in on this little big secret and changed my life forever!
OK, well maybe I'm a little enthusiastic, seeing as how I have yet to prove myself as a 50,000 word generator. I have a tough time with 2000, to be honest.
So I live on Baseline amongst throngs of college students. causing me to feel very old at 27. I work at the secret porn company that nobody knows exists in Boulder where I put commercials between hardcore cable smuts. I bet you didn't know that if you watched porn on TV you'd end up still having to see commercials, but you do! It's just like HBO but without (much) plot or storyline! This will be the perfect environment for me to work on a novel in November, since my job requires me to work 40 hrs but the job itself only takes about 15, so if I don't finish this novel it's certainly not because I was too busy... though I do need my beauty rest. Lots and lots of beauty rest.
I look foward to meeting some of you through parties and all that nonsense and hopefully we'll all be famous novelists by the end of the month. Heart- Rachel

Kruck here. 2 year winner. Looking forward to the dreading.
I've found this yearly project to be like a really long, steep hike: planning for it sounds great, the reward is exquisite, but sometimes along the way you wonder why you set yourself up for this much suffering.
Good luck everyone!

Okay - I don't know what I'll write, haven't done this before. Hope to interrupt my huge depression about winter which usually hits in November. I am NOT a skier, NOT someone that loves wearing layers and layers of groovy ski clothes, NOT someone that loves driving in heavy traffic with snow...hate I-70 on Sunday...okay enough about me! HA!
Are there others in the Louisville, Lafayette, Broomfield, Westminster area? I am in Westminster and could write and meet at the Panera on 36 at 104/Church Ranch. Or a Barnes and Noble in the area...any other ideas?

Onikitty here, I've been doing NaNo off and on since 2003 and, well, haven't won yet. I signed up this year and started brainstorming before realizing that with a major paper due early in November along with, comprehensive exams, course work, work work, etc. this would probably have been a good year for an "off" year. While I think I might well hit 50,000 words I doubt many of them will be fiction but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Hey all. I thought I had replied to this forum post a few weeks ago but must have hit reply to one of your posts. Anyway, my name is kia. This is my first go at this nanowrimo fun. I moved to Boulder about 6 months ago and am enjoying the area immensely. However I will be working away from Boulder most of the month so figure I'll spend my nights doing this project in the hotel or rented home my job places me in. I am prepping by jotting down story ideas in a notebook now. I am aiming to toss down some sort of outline prior to the first and then go loose from there. I am also listening to Michael Stackpole's podcasts on writing to sort of gear up for what I'll be trying.
Hope you are all well and getting anxious to start.

hey y'all...I'm Judy and I'm about 15 minutes from Boulder in Arvada...I live in hillbilly hell and would love to get out of Dodge to drink...I mean write...with other NANO-ers. I've done this for about four years and only finished one year. I've never joined a group or anything so this sounds fun and might even be helpful. I've always used ideas I've started at one point or another and tried to use NANO to finish them with...this year i'm goin in naked.
So what are the Boulder nano groups? There is a Wed. nite group that wanted to start but hasn't posted in a while...and there is one at 36 and 1-25 too....so I'll keep my eye out.
I'm excited !!!
