I saw this from UA Daily Headlines: "Arkansas Writers on Writing: Special Collections to Host Lecture Series in October."
It might be helpful, going into November.
I'm posting the three dates of the series on the NWA NaNo calendar, which can be accessed from the top of the Arkansas region page.

Laura Castoro was pretty inspirational on her craft today at UA (See links in original posting). She started in romances but has moved on to historical novels to sophisticated or atypical chick-lit ("A New Lu"). At 38 books by major publishing houses in a 28-year career (there's others, too, that didn't sell), she might as well be a NaNo role model.
Next up is Radine Trees Nehring on Wednesday the 22nd. She writes mysteries. Last is Kevin Brockmeier on the 29th.
Castoro had a good-sized audience of a few dozen, and the library provided a really good assortment of refreshments. I know it's a tricky time: mid-afternoon mid-week. It's just a good opportunity if you can swing it.
