I've been reading over in the ML forums about all of these regions who have their own regional mascot: some are stuffed animals, some are drawings, one is a blow-up panda. Its very cool and I'm jealous.

SOOOOOO, I am challenging you, my Cleveland Wrimos, to come up with MASCOT suggestions.

Leave them here or bring them to the Kick-Off Party. We'll have an official vote at the Kick-off to pick one to adopt for the year.

Be creative!

I'm counting on you so I can go and brag about the Cleveland mascot in the near future.

*looks around room for inspiration*

Um, a teddy bear dressed as a devil?

A teddy bear dressed as a borg drone?

A teddy bear dressed as a pirate? (I swear I never noticed I had such weird bears)

Salvador Dali?

Aloe Vera?

Snarky the Sharky? (He's popular among my friends, we like to throw him at the wall.)

The Lake Creature!

Just kidding.

How about a caterpillar? The Cleveland Caterpillars?

Yeah, I have no ideas.

Teddy bear with shorts, a parka, sunglasses, flipflops, mittens, and an umbrella.

That way he's prepared for the daily weather changes.

I'm lame, but I say it should be a panda as we always do the write-ins at Panera.

Plus, those Kung-fu Panda stuffed animals are SOO KYOOT!

Ahem.

I have no preference as to animal or object, but humbly request that the colors be orange and brown.

I humbly remind stephogroove that orange and brown are perhaps the unluckiest colors in the world (save orange and black *cough* Cincinnati *cough*), and suggest the colors be yellow and black instead!

Actually, I meant to Steelers (but if we're going for the HP motif, then blue and bronze, all the way!).

I think we should be something really strange?

Something that's on fire (since we do have a river that caught fire once).

How about an animal sitting at an old fashioned type writer smoking from all the use?? Pages of paper next to it with the cover page "Cleveland NaNoWriMo 2008"

I'm not much of an artist, but my best friend (who should be showing up in the Boston Forums) is amazing and LOVES doing things like this.

A food-stamp.

Sorry, that was a bit dark.

How about Drew Carrey?

Some good ideas. Now we need pictures or clip art or dressed up stuff animals. Roll with the instinct! (and turn off the internal editor - its good practice for November)

How about a snowbear dressed up in a purple pimp hat and cape holding a bouquet of flowers? Yes, I have a picture, and a great story to go with it.

How about a teddy bear wearing construction worker clothes and holding one of those beloved orange cones we see so much around here ;D!

Ugh. Tell me about it--night construction on I-90 West has been murder.

On the bright side, I have an intricate knowledge of backroads and detours that probably rivals that of an ambulance driver's.
