And for those of you who don't know me - I've been the cheerleader for the rest of you. I will be busy working on hopefully state #3 or state #4. State #1 is out and State #2 should be out either in December or first part of January.

And for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about - check out my blog to find out about my Junior Geography Detective Squad series. I also will be in the midst of a blog book tour in November but I will still cheer you all on - E :)

Hi gnosis. Hi Jokerman.
This is my fifth NaNo (which has become the bane of my mother's existence). Last year I won, so I'm hoping to repeat this year.
I'm hoping the group in MS will be more active this year. Woo.

Look, it's everyone! Good to see y'all. I can't believe it's Nano time again. If I participate (from ENC, which is where I now live) I'll work on the novel I started earlier last year. I've reached the mid-point, and have a goal to finish by Dec 31st.

Best wishes to all this Nano. May your typing be fast and your thoughts be faster. Looking forward to the insane humor.!

Last year was my first time winning, though I've been participating since 2001. It was also my first year in the Greenville, SC region. Before that, I was in Cincinnati, OH and before that, the DC area.

I know a number of you from last year and from other things in the region. If you're interested, there's also a website: http://www.upstategeeks.com . I've been posting writing challenge's there to lead us up to NaNo. :)

Um, yeah, I'm still around. This is Tikatu, the ubiquitous one... though not as ubiquitous as all that since I haven't been to the Yahoo group in months. :looks embarassed:

I'm in for NaNo again this year, with one major change... I now have a laptop! Woot! No more pad and pen!

See you all around, gang!

Tadiera, you're not that far from me.
I'm in Reidville. :)

Anyway, I'm DM. Four time participant, one time winner.
I never show up at the meetings because of time restraints and I'm unsure how my parents would react. XD
So I'm there in spirit.

Hoping to win again this year. ^^

Nope, Reidville's not far at all! Though I do spend about half my week in Grey Court, so I'm either very near to you, or quite far. ;)

You should tell your parents what it is. Most parents, I imagine, would be thrilled overall. All the write-ins are at public locations: coffee shops, bookstores, etc. Maybe they could come with you for a few of them and check the places/people out. We're all normal folk. A lot of the people who do NaNo are parents themselves.

(Though, I do certainly understand; my first NaNo, I was only 15. But it's always worth a try.)

So yeah, I'm lolitarun...

This is my first NaNoWriMo... although considering how much time I spend writing anyway, I hope I'll be able to hit 50,000. But yeah, I'm going to spend October getting ahead on my Shakespeare homework so I'll have more time to write ;).

Hi I'm ntndo (dave). Staying in spartanburg for a little while helping ma with finances until things level out with this economy.
First NaNoWiMo, though I've followed the site since high school.

Trying to organize something downtown, maybe a write-in and even a few sessions for readings.

Hey, I remember a bunch of you guys. XD I'm going to be in the Clemson area for the most part so I don't know how much I'll be able to participate in meetings and stuff, but I'll definitely be hanging out on the forums.

I'm going to echo jokerman's sentiment and just say that I've been doing this a long time. >>

Good luck to everyone this year.

Well, they know I do NaNo and they're always encouraging me and stuff, but I'm unsure how they'd react to me wanting to go at a write-in.
I never asked, though. XD
Eh.
Maybe. :3

And my first NaNo was when I was twelve...and I failed epicly. XD

Hullo, everyone! I am Ashton, and this is my first Nano! I've never even heard of it before a couple of days ago, and I'm all ready super excited to begin. I guess I will satisfy myself with my normal projects to keep my fingers from itching ^.^

I'm Mutewolf. :D And this is my second NaNo although I failed miserably last year due to school and other such things getting in my way. But I plan on getting far this year!
Anywho, I'm up in the Greenville area and would love to do a write-in with some of you guys.

Hey, this will be my third year. I'm Jenny, and am a librarian at Furman.... now that Scorpion has graduated, I can still arrange write-ins here too if anyone is closer to the north side of town.

I didn't participate in anything in the area my first year, and feel like it made a huge difference to attend events. Maybe I'm just competitive in nature, I don't know. But if you are new to this group, please come out for something! I'm sure you won't regret it!

This year I have to be done by Thanksgiving because I'll be traveling from then through December 8 and don't plan on taking my laptop with me! That puts me at needing to write roughly 1923 words a day.

Hi Everyone! I'm Kestrel (pay no attention to the username!) This is my first NaNoWriMo, and I am excited to see that I am not alone around here! Sometimes, writing feels so solitary, and like I don't really have a purpose... To know there are others who share my excitement and love for it is wonderful!

I am going to be trying to wrap up a manuscript this year, and if I succeed, it will be my first completed work, and the biggest hurdle of what I hope will be a long writing career...

BTW, I'm going to plug it all over, I work at Liquid Highway in Taylors, so any time someone wants to stop by and say hello, set up their laptop and let me make you a latte while you work, come by and see me! (I'm there most days of the week during the day)

Hey All,

First time poster here at Nano, but I participated in the writing last year (at least from home anyways). Got roughly 25k out of 50k, which I felt was pretty good since it was by far the most I'd ever written in one story. Anyways, figured I'd say hello and wish everyone luck this year. I won't be participating since I'm still working on my book from last year (~4 chapters from its completion and then I need to edit it) and I don't feel that I can set it down for a month. I really want to finish it :D

Just thought I'd try to be a bit more involved this year, so I'll be around and posting more (hopefully)!
