I am requesting an official roll call for Shenandoah Valley Wrimos! There are currently 90 authors in our little region. So I am hoping to have at least 90 replies to this thread! Write as little or as much as you like but try to include the following:
Your Name and/or NaNoName
Your Hometown and/or where you will be writing from in November
How to best reach you.
If you want include something about yourself.
Example:
Name: Susan aka Susieiz
Hometown: Front Royal
Email: NaNoMail first and then I will send you my personal email.
Something about me: Lately I have had the urge to use the word "wonky" in a sentence. I don't know why.
Easy! Can't wait to hear from you and find out where everyone is so we can get some write-ins scheduled in your neck of the valley.
Your Co-ML Susan

I'll be first!
Name: LaMishia aka Thelonephotographer
Hometown: Winchester
Email: Reach me by nanomail first then we'll move on to personal email.
Something about me: I use "Bloody Hell" as a replacement curse all the time and I'm a bit anxious about writing from an outline this year. While it should be easier in theory, i've never used an outline...not even back in high school when i was doing papers for school. So this year should be interesting.
Looking forward to meeting the rest of the passengers on this years CRAZY TRAIN!!!

Hesitantly waves a flipper...
Tweetywill is here, although he is not sure he will be NaNoing at all this year. (He is also wondering why he is referring to himself in third person...)
**Shift Perspective**
Ahh! That's better. I am Tweetywill, aka: Tyler. You can reach me faster via email than any other method besides Pony Express, although there is no guarantee I will respond in anything resembling a timely manner. My hometown is a wide spot in the road in central Utah called Elmo, although it has been nearly two decades since that was my legal residence. I now call Winchester my home, and intend to for the forseeable future. (Since I am horrible at forseeing the future, that doesn't really mean much now does it?)
I had fully intended to completely ignore NaNoWriMo this year, after having had my soul stolen by the Soul Stealing Weasels of Despair last year. I think I have recovered at least a large portion of it, and a good friend and fellow Wrimo has encouraged me not to let the weasels win again this year. So I am throwing my hat into the ring again this year, and hoping that the weasels do not reappear.
Also, I tend to be wordy and write way more than I meant to when posting to the forums... Sorry!
Good luck, and many words to all!

*waves to everyone* Hey y'all!
Your Name and/or NaNoName: Deanna with the nano name elisgalpal
Your Hometown and/or where you will be writing from in November: Hometown is Winchester and I am writing technically from Gore but I'll wandering around the area to write as much as possible!
How to best reach you. NaNo mail is probably the best way to reach me and then we'll go from there! I've got messenger programs, various journals, and lots of emails!
If you want include something about yourself. Hmm, something about myself...my kids are driving me insane, my husband travels so much for work he's only been home a week total in the last almost two months and oh wait, maybe something about me and my writing? *grins* I ramble. I write. I am doing an original fic this year instead of another fanfic which kinda scares me still but I have lots of ideas! If only I had a character with a name...like none of them have actual names...not a one...
Peace, Love, and Giggles,
Deanna

Hey NaNoers!
I'm Robert, writing to you from the lovely Waynesboro - hey Nonny Mouse, we might just have to make use of that shiny, new Books-A-Million this year! Best way to reach me is nanomail. I'm not sure if I'll be joining NaNo this year, but I always need a good excuse to write...I'm always behind, no matter what I'm working on at the moment.
About me? I'm currently working on two different short stories. I fill my spare time with Cub Scouts and other kidly endeavors. And for someone who considers himself to be a writer, I make up way too many words of my own. I didn't come close to finishing last year's novel, but I'm proud of what I did accomplish and have worked on it off and on over the year since. And no, it still isn't finished.
But I'm here to support everyone else, so...write on!

Hi Robert! Nonny Mouse does have plans for that shiny, new Books-A-Million! I don't know if you are aware, but Nonny Mouse is your POC for Waynesboro/Staunton and she already mentioned to me that BAM is at the top of her list of locations. I expect that she will be checking in on the forums today so why don't you head over to Introducing Your Waynesboro/Staunton POC and post a note. She will be very excited that she already has a fellow Wrimo on board for meet-ups and write-ins.
Happy Noveling!

Your Hometown and/or where you will be writing from in November:
Born in CA, raised in PA, now living in and writing from Charlottesville.
How to best reach you.
Nanomail me first, then I'll give out the ol' e-mail and IM.
If you want include something about yourself.
I'm a 23 year old female software engineer, I love the camaraderie of NaNo, aaand ... yeah. I don't have many friends in Charlottesville because I've only just moved here, so I'm all for write-ins as long as they're after work (5ish). I'm within walking distance of UVA, so I can easily go downtown for quickie write-ins. Oh yeah - I'm a pretty huge dork, if the occupation and NaNo enthusiasm didn't give that away ... but I'm a friendly dork. Nice to meet you all.

Your Hometown and/or where you will be writing from in November: My "true" hometown is Milford, CT, but I live in Winchester.
How to best reach you: NaNo mail first, then Yahoo e-mail
If you want include something about yourself: This is my second year NaNo-ing. I first heard about NaNoWriMo a few years back when I was living in South Carolina, but as it was just a couple days before Thanksgiving, I decided to give it a pass. I had a ball doing it last year and am looking forward to this year. Now if I could only nail down a story idea...I have I think six to choose from and none of them is really jumping out at me, begging to be written. I'll probably wind up doing what I did last year...wait until about 10:00 pm Oct 31, put them all in a pillowcase and choose one.
I'm hoping to join at least one of the sit-ins (or write-ins, whatever they're called) this year...Last year, the ones scheduled for Winchester clashed with other plans I had. Right now I have no plans, but we'll see...
Oh, and many years ago, I worked with a girl from Kenya whose strongest curse was "Bloody Hell". I picked it up from her, but dropped it when I left that job. Just recently I've stared using it again because my boss is British! Though I am careful not to use it around the office.

Hi Vanessa! You were there for our ghost chat last year at Borders! How could I forget that British accent! Looking forward to seeing you again.
Regarding "Bloody Hell," I just had to look it up! I work for a Brit but I never bothered to ask! Here is what I found at The Very Best of British: An American's Guide to Speaking British:
Bloody - One of the most useful swear words in English. Mostly used as an exclamation of surprise i.e. "bloody hell" or "bloody nora". Something may be "bloody marvellous" or "bloody awful". It is also used to emphasise almost anything, "you're bloody mad", "not bloody likely" and can also be used in the middle of other words to emphasise them. E.g. "Abso-bloody-lutely"! Americans should avoid saying "bloody" as they sound silly.
So would "That's just bloody wonky!" be proper British?

If you want include something about yourself: Me? I'm a theatre and creative writing (independent major) double major. I tend to goof off more than actually than doing anything productive which might be a good thing for Nanowrimo or a bad thing. My writing? I have a tendency to figure out the beginning of a story, scratch out a couple middle scenes, and write a gorgeous finale to my piece. But none of it matters, because the middle is never fully there. This year...maybe I'll start with an outline so that I'll have a middle section. Sounds like a plan [Stan!].
Also, I'm a huge dork.

Hi Susieiz,
I remember our ghost talk, and am waiting for the live ghost hunters and most haunted.
"That's bloody wonky" would be correct. You can also exchange bloody with bleeding in most cases. Though the words are used mainly as "bloody hell", and "bleeding heck". ie., "bloody hell, that was close", "bleeding heck, what was that?" But like your description said, they are used for emphasis, just sound worse than they really are.
Look forward to see you again, and am hoping that this year I can attend more write-ins.
Vanessa

Hey Robert! Good to hear from you!
And yes, if we can work it out, we will make use of that shiny new Books-A-Million! I've already talked to one person there, and they seem interested in sharing in our NaNoWriMo fun! Just need to work out a few more details.
So you're a Cub Scouter? I did Cub Scouts, many years ago. It was a lot of fun!

Welcome Mike! Technically you are a Wrimo as opposed to a NaNoWrimoer although yours actually makes more sense. But around here just about anything that begins with NaNo works as in the "official NaNo words" like NaNoMail, NaNoHandbook and NaNoLand. But of course feel free to make up your own like I do: I have NaNoNeeds which can be anything from sleep, chocolate or coffee depending on the occasion. NaNoBuds which can be friends or beer again depending on the occasion. As for emotions, right now I have the NaNoJitters leading up to November 1st when NaNoFrenzy will take over and on November 30th I shall experience NaNoFreedom followed shortly after by the NaNoBlues.
I think I see a new thread in our future: The Shenandoah Valley NaNoDictionary!
Again, welcome Mike! I hope we meet at a write-in!

Something about me: I'm in marching band (hence my lateness on this- we're in the peak of football season, so my life is pretty hectic and I forgot to check in with Nano) and will be traveling with the MRDs to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this November...which means I'll need to bulk up my word count before then so I don't fall behind! Hey everybody!
I'm Neville, or nlyons162 if you will - I'm sure you will :)
I'm a Junior at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, but I'm originally from Houston. When I'm not at school, though, I live in New Jersey, so I'll be writing there the week of Thanksgiving. (Mom won't let me stay down here for Turkey week, even though she knows that I'll be pent up in my room most of the week for this!)
The easiest way to get in tough with me during this is NaNoMail.
I just barely won this last year (my first year) hitting 50K with one hour left on the clock (phew!) and I'm excited about this year. I've got two ideas, but I think I know which one I'll run with. I've got a slew of other things to do this November, including an economics term paper (which pales in comparison to this undertaking), a new fitness program to help me reach my Big Fun Scary Adventure Challenge goal of 12.5 stone by December 31, and a bunch of a cappella planning here at W&L. There - I've already vented about all of the crud I have to do - got that out of the way early this year! :)
Fun things about me:
- I love game shows! I've been on a couple, even!
- I like creating crossword puzzles. I've had one accepted by the LA Times, but it hasn't been published yet. One of our school newspapers also publishes my puzzles, but that not as much of an achievement :)
- I, too, enjoy using the word "bloody" :)
- My friends think I'm crazy - they're right.
Good luck everyone!

Hey folks!
Name: Matt
Hometown: Harrisonburg (Also lived in Maine, Tennessee, Florida, California, Germany, Arkansas, New Jersey, and Elkton *shudder*)
Email: Personal Email is most checked. Or AIM (same name as WiMo name)
Something about me: Graduated from Bridgewater College with my bachelors in Biology in 2008. Currently working for Shenandoah National Park. Currently live in the general viscinity of JMU. I'm stoked about racking my brain for a topic and plotline for this novel. I'm thinking some sort of Sci-fi.
