Sadly I think I'll miss the kick off again this year. I'm supposed to be in CCNA prep class all day that day. If I get out early for some reason I'll try to make it there but my magic 8 ball says "future looks cloudy" I'll cast my vote here for the NanowriMOOO cow mascot though. :)

Hey Christine, one author and one tag-along planning on attending the Kick-Off Party. I haven't attended a NaNo gathering since October and November of 2005. Haven't finished a story since 2005, either, so I'm looking forward to the upcoming festivities.
I told myself two months ago I would write a book by year's end. Each time I try to write, however, I find myself falling into the slow, edit-heavy traps NaNo once taught me to avoid. Combining these two thoughts, I came to the painful realization that I have to participate this year, no questions asked. I can't make any more excuses. If I'm to write, it's now or never. This November, it's time to put life aside for a change and let my creativity loose.
Past experience proves, however, that gung-ho only goes as far as October 30th. I think I'm gonna need you guys to carry me the rest of the way. That, or lots and lots of coffee.
