The first Meet and Greet will take place Monday, October 20th from 7pm to 9pm at the College/Laurel Noodles & Co:
- EVENT: Meet and Greet #1
- DAY: Monday, October 20th
- TIME: 7pm-9pm
- LOCATION: Noodles and Company, 650 S. College Ave., Fort Collins, CO
- DAY: Monday, October 20th
For those of you not following the planning thread, a Meet and Greet is just what it sounds like. It gives your MLs a chance to greet you, and gives you a chance to meet us and the other participants. It's a fun way to see who else is participating, get a drink or a bite to eat, and (most importantly) get psyched for November.

Noodles worked well last year, may I suggest it again?

Yes, you may suggest it.
Also . . . I think it might be a good idea to have the first meet-and-greet at Noodles & Co.

"Noodles" is a restaurant called "Noodles and Company" and is really yummy!
I'm in...but which Noodles? I know of 2 in FoCo (thought there's probably more).
I'm so excited to meet everyone/see everyone again! You have no idea! I've been counting the days on my papers I'm submitting. I'll put the date, then after it, the number of days until NaNo! Bring on the fun!
If anyone needs a ride, PM me here on the NaNo site. I'll be happy to help, if I can.

I'm pretty sure that would be the Noodles & Co. on College -- not the Noodles & Co. by the Cinemark.

Damn. I live right next to the Cinemark one.

So, based on popularity (and because managers/ directors at other sites still haven't gotten back to us about availability), Noodles and Company will be the site of out first Meet-N-Greet.
A couple of notes on this:
This is a public restaurant, so please order something (even if just a soda or cookie).
We do not have reserved space; it is first come, first served. traevoli and will get there early and try to snag plenty of tables.
Please keep language and behavior family friendly.
The address is 650 S. College. We're meeting from 7-9. Please RSVP in this forum so we know how many seats to grab.

Sorry about that, you two. The Cinemark location just doesn't tend to have enough space for us. Hope you can still make it.

Woohoo! I can walk to Noodles! I'll probably be a little late, but that shouldn't be a problem since it's a two-hour affair. :)

I am planning on attending and bringing a fellow nano-er (the one who got me started last year) who has moved down from Montana. We might be a little bit late, but not more than 15 minutes or so.

I'm planning on being there too, and my husband will probably be with me. (You all can help me convince him that he really should take the plunge and participate too.) We may be a little late and rather dirty since we'll be working at the CSA beforehand.

I'm definitely going to be there! I can't wait! My friend, Emily, may be coming, too. She's new to NaNo and hasn't had time to get on the boards much recently, so I'm RSVPing for her, though she may be a bit late.
Yay! My social life is coming back! :D

My extreme laziness this weekend is going to mean we can't come tonight after all. I need to spend the evening baking the bread for the week after we work at the CSA. I still hope to make the kick-off party though!

Just FYI, Emily and I are planning on coming a bit early to help Simmon save tables. Lol, I can just picture him saving 6 tables by spreading his things out. We'll help a bit. :)

I just wanted to thank all of you who were able to come out tonight. It was great seeing old faces, and meeting new ones. I didn't get a chance to sit and chat with everyone personally, but hopefully we'll be able to chat and/or get more acquainted throughout November. For those of you who weren't able to make it, we missed you, but there will be other chances in the coming weeks.

I second Simmon. It was great seeing everyone again! I came back home to do homework, and was too excited to concentrate. I'll do it tomorrow morning before class. You guys are all fantastic! I'm so glad that I got to meet some new people, and reconnect with old ones. You all rock!

I love this region. We had 24 writers show up to our Meet-N-Greet tonight (tho', admittedly, two were Greeley spies ;). Most people were folks who had joined us last year, but there were several new faces, as well. I hope everyone who came had as much fun as I did - it looked as though everyone did. There was some singing, some dancing (yes, in the middle of Noodles & Co.), and lots of conversation. People getting to know others who have decided to embark on this crazy quest, which is the main point of a Meet-N-Greet. I hope to see even more folks at the next Meet-N-Greet (this Sunday - probably from 11am-1pm - we're just awaiting confirmation from the venue, but details will be posted very soon).
