Welcome PaperBackSwap members!
Quite a few members have stated that they were participating this year, so let's use this thread to discuss our novels, give advice, or just get to know each other.
Good luck everyone this year, and have fun!

boldmama checking in!
I really need to start outlining. I am so far behind where I was at this time last year in my planning phase! I am getting the Nano jitters, or it could just be the amount of coffee I have consumed.

How does this work? What is it, exactly? You have piqued my interest.

theraven checking in. This is my first year participating and I haven't done any planning. It was a spur of the moment decision to give it a try. I'm finishing up on one book (doing the first edit on a completed project) and I have no idea what I'd feel like doing next.

Hi all! I'm mattc on PBS, and doing this for the first time. I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to write (science fiction, of course), and I'm kind of getting an outline together...which I may not adhere to once the real writing action starts.
I always have a tough time finishing projects bacause I decide I don't like something and go back and delete it. This time I have a personal rule that I can't delete more than a page of text...if it stinks, too bad, I'll have to keep moving forward.

I think I know what I'm going to work on for Nano. I've consulted with a friend and she believes I should go with the project that I have no 'intentions' for except to see if I can write that style of book. Right now, I have no plans on getting the book published. I just want to see if I can write this type of thriller. A certain type that I said I'd never write but I have an interesting twist to it that I'd like to explore.
My friend, also a writer, figures I'd feel more free to just write and not worry about anything else since I'm going into it with the view that it is an experiment. This way, I can silence those nagging critical voices in my head. I have no grand plans for the book besides to see if I can/like this type of writing and if I can reach 50,000 words.

I think I have a bit of an idea. I have a characters and a setting. I am hoping they just lead me somewhere. They are pretty outspoken, so I am just thinking I will have to go with the flow this year!

Hey! I am lonelyfilly on PBS also! This is my third attempt at doing this, failed miserably both times before....but I'm not working this time, so I should be able to really do it.
I'm doing YA this time, with teenagers and horses. Have a few characters and a bit of a plot for this story so far, need to do more work on my outline this week, so I'll be ready. This is the first time I've actually prepared for this ahead of time, so I feel a bit more confident!
Good luck to everyone!!

I just finished packing up tomorrow's batch of PBS packages for the mail before coming over to the NaNo site.. and then I find this thread!!! :) I'm Larinzia over at PBS and most other places online. This year, as most other years, I'm working on fantasy. Two, as a matter of fact. One is called Merry Things and the other is an unnamed local fantasy. It'll come to me... hopefully before Nov 30!
My dream is to one day have a book that is being swapped on PBS. Anyone else share that dream?
Lar :)

Hi hi! I'm arlith over on PBS.
I'm going into this completely winging it. Mostly. I have a few little ideas, but nothing big. I'm going to play the game of sit at the keyboard, babble into it and see what comes out. I'll be surprised if I actually manage to get enough words out to win...but you never know!

Hi all! GeniusJen (same name on PBS) saying hello to all!
This is my first NaNoWriMo, so I'm terribly excited and nervous! Thankfully, I do have a synopsis and a rough outline, so I'm looking forward to participating!

I have this problem.
PBSers keep sending me books and they just won't stop coming.
I went to IKEA to buy a bookshelf for them today.
I seriously have a problem...can't read...must write...
