Hi everyone,
Just want you all to know that I'm here and on watch.
Spent the summer in remodeling hell. We are on week 28 of the 12 week project to rebuild my porch. But it is starting to look as if there is an end in sight.
How was everyone's summer?
Are you all ready to write?
Post a hello and a quick intro.
I'm Anastasia aka Marie Rex
I'm on the Isle of Skye
This is my 8th year of doing NaNoWriMo
I've won 7 times
This is my 3rd year of being an ML
I am still not a writer, I'm still a seamstress.
I'm happy to be back
Cheers
Anastasia

Important things to remember during NaNoWriMo:
You can still do this! Trust me, I know you can.
You don’t have to spell check
Grammar is optional
Editing comes later
And a plot is used for gardening

hi anastasia
this is my 3rd year doing nano and i've never won - but i will this year! i've taken the first two weeks of november off work : )
really excited about this year because i'm going to finish this novel with Nano's help and support. i started it for nano 2 years ago and it has sat at 20k, neglected, while i fannied about with other projects. so, october is preparation month and i'll have my foot in the door of Mono as soon as it opens on the day of our first meet - it we're still using Mono.

Hi I'm Smioux (Sylvie) from Tain in the Highlands. This is my first year at NaNoWriMo. I have written an 88K novel before, though.
Not completely sure how this works yet but will keep reading.
Looking forward to interacting with you all.
Cheers,

Hi! I'm Astray (or Noemi, whichever)
Nice to meet you all!
I'm a 21-years-old Swiss girl who came to Aberdeen as an Erasmus student. (4th year in English and History)
And I feel a bit awkward since I still have to get used to talk in English all the time.
I did NaNo last year and won (passed the 80K, yay), though I don't know about this year. 50K would be good enough, I guess.
I'm so happy to be back for NaNo! *bounces* I feel like it's still so far away...

Hi guys. I'm Sibyl, currently banished to the far reaches of southern England, but still part of the Aberdeen group in spirit. Let's see if I can complete this NaNo without Quisitor's walking-stick-of-doom prodding me in the literal arse.

Now really... Thank Sibyl, I'm now scared of Helen even if I never saw her... This whole walking stick of doom sounds... ominous. (Almost as much as my teachers speaking about assessments, which is saying something.)

I'm Chris from the highlands of Scotland, in that little hole in the wall Grantown on Spey.
First year of NaNo, hoping to win, even around work, birthday and social gatherings.
I have a good few ideas bouncing around. I'll stick with one soon enough.

Hi everyone,
I'm Julia, and I'm writing from bonny Fife. It's my first official Nano, hoping to win as well of course! It's going to be fun trying to fit this in around my full time work, the dog and the horse! I am a passionate closet writer, and generally write on a regular basis - just not quite as much as is required for Nano! Having said that, I'm really looking forward to just letting go for a month and producing a whole lot of very random, yet prolific, garbage! I think it'll do my a world of good!
Good luck everyone! =)

Hey :)
----------I'm Morgan, I'm originally from Cumbernauld but am currently 'living it up' in Stirling for my final year of uni.
Speaking of uni I'm a 4th year Scottish History student and will very probably end up frazzled by the end of November since alongside Nano I will have a 3000 word essay, a literature review and draft chapter for my dissertation due... Oh dear!
This will be my 4th attempt at Nano (I have yet to hit the 25,000 mark), but I figure I'm living away from home this year and will hopefully have fewer distractions than I would have around my house.
So aye, this year is the year for me!

Hi I'm Duncan and I live in the Scottish Borders close to Peebles.
This is my first ever Nanowrimo novel and the first bit of writing I have ever done. I am looking forward to seeing if I can make it through to 50K words. I have had a few attempts to see what I can produce in a lunch-break at work and can get to the 700 word mark quite easily.
Mind you could I sustain this over hours and days? I'm sure I'll start to want to edit and perfect! I know, I mustn't but it's really hard not to!
Good luck everyone!

Hi Amuseing,
Not only do we have our geographic proximity in common, I'm an OU student too. Although my course is not as nice a choice as creative writing. Instead it's Java Development. I'd really rather be doing an Arts degree than a Science one! Too late to change just now though.
Hearing from you makes me wonder if there are any other NaNos out there lurking in the Scottish Borders. Can I foresee a local Write-In happening?
Cheerio!

Hey Dunkv,
Good to hear from you. I'm not aware of any other NaNoWriters around here, but i'm keeping my eyes open. I'll add you as my buddy and it would be good if you'd do the same with me. That way we can keep in touch easily.

Hey guys!
I'm Ailsa, aka dragon-girl
Elsewhere on the internet, you'll find me as Daeonica, or Gapyeargirl123, unless it's livejournal, where I need to invest in the name change at some point.
Haven't won nano yet, and this year I'm actually aiming for 30k rather than 50. We'll see how it goes.
Erm, other stuff.
----------I'm from mid-argyll, on the west coast of scotland, and I work in a museum cafe, roughly 3 days & one evening each week. At the end of November, I'll be packing up my stuff to go and live away from home for the first time, because I'm going to work in a french ski resort until the end of April.
I review books over at The Book Bundle.
Not sure what else to say here, ask if you want to know something. ;-)
Second attempt at Nano, lets see if I can get it to work this time!

Hi!
My name is Fiona (or Fi) and I'm a writeaholic. Unfortunately I never seem to get far past 5000 so 50000 will be hard.
Let see, what other madness can I tell you... On November 1st I start not 1 but 2 open university courses both focusing on writing both requiring lots of writing to be done, that may have been a bad choice, time will tell. My official residence is in Motherwell, about 25 miles outside Glasgow but I have also been known to claim I live in Dundee or on the Isle of Bute, mainly because I do not enjoy living with my parents so try to spend as much time away as I can afford.
Oh, I also blog... ramblings can be found here, and writerly stuff here.
Hmm... almost lunch time, I should go shower.

I'm Sasha, I'm in Morayshire (woo...) and this is my first year of nano.
I'm in 5th year - a lot of work - but looking forward to being washed off my feet with coursework, homework and nano writing for a month. Perhaps a little optimistic of writing 50k on my first go, but we'll see how it goes I suppose!

I'm Cait, 23 and I live on the Isle of Bute.
Right now I'm absolutely petrified by how quickly October is passing, especially considering I've got a TMA for my OU (A215 - Creative Writing, hehe) course coming up, and my wedding to finish planning for in December.
I spend my days sitting in a chilly little computer shop, selling ink cartridges, cables and taking in repairs (which I pass on to my Dad to fix), this also gives me plenty of time to actually write during the day, providing I can convince myself to stop procrastinating.
This'll be my fourth year of NaNo and (hopefully) my fourth win, although considering I've set myself a challenge of 100,000 words for one story and 25,000 words for another... we'll see. ;-D
Cait.
