Hey everyone! I'm starting this topic now in hopes that maybe those of us in the North West corner of the state can maybe start planning meet-ups or something? Last year we in the general Erie area had a few and they were a lot of fun!
I'm from Fairview myself and I hope to re-meet and see fellow nano-ers in the area.

So glad to see our corner is the first one to represent! I'm from Erie, but live out of town so I won't be home until Thanksgiving, but if I'm still writing at Thanksgiving (like I wasn't last year....lame) I'd like to go to an Erie write-in!

I am a map challenged 15 year old.....therefore, I don't know what part of Penn. I live in. I think it's in a corner though......near Reading, and we can drive to New York, which is awesome, or would be if my mom wasn't scared of it. Meh. I want to go visit NY, but I have to wait until I can drive.....

Hello, I'm up in northwestern PA as well. I just moved here about a month and a half ago; before that I lived in Maine. I live about an hour south of Erie, but I may be able to come to a meetup or two in that area.

Oooh, shiny! *pokes thread* Thanks for getting this up, Elycium, and I definitely up for some meet-ups/write-ins over the next couple months. Last year was great fun :)
I hail from Cambridge Springs, about 20 or so miles from Erie proper. Welcome to all newbies, and welcome back to all our old northwest corner people!

There were meetups in Erie last year and I missed them? *sigh* I need to start watching this board more carefully. I lived in Erie [millcreek really] for the last 10 years and now I'm a freshman at Edinboro University. I would love to have some sort of write-in because lots of people I know have gone to them and they sounded amazing.

Sup, guys? Glad to see everyone getting started.
I'd like to see everyone again, but I'm still up in the air about participating this year.

Hello everyone,
I am Don. I am happy to see that there is someone else out there that realizes there are other areas of PA other than Pittsburg or Philly! Thanks for starting this thread.
I am looking forward to this. Although, I am a bit nervous. Never attempted to write a novel. Dont know if I have 50k worth of words in me. ;-)
Anyway, I live right in Erie. If there is some sort of meet up, I would love to join and meet everyone!

I live somewhere in the vacinity of Millcreek and Fairview and I'm *dying* to get some write-ins started! (Well... in about 26 days...)
Also, I'm working at getting an entire club going at one of the high schools in Erie centered around NaNo and some of the students are also interested in comming to write-ins. So... yeah! Tons of Erie people! Why don't we have our own region??? (I'm new to the Erie area, btw. Just moved from MA.)

Garret, tashe, great to see both of you again! To all of the new people showing up in our region, its great to meet you guys! Welcome and don't be frightened, we're not as crazy as we seem... okay so maybe we are... ~_^
Garret, even if you don't participate this year you're always welcome to the meet-ups. We all know they're a blast, even if we don't get anything done. XD
Speaking of meet-ups... Since Nov. 1st is on a Sunday... anyone want to have a kick-off party / write in, say at the Borders up in the milcreek mall plaza (the one that's by the Michael's cratf store?). Could be fun, and they have wonderful coffee.

I'll have to wait and see if I'm scheduled to work that Sunday. I've already requested a few days, so I can't take any more. Depending on the time, I might be able to make it. It's always fun, and the coffee is decent.

Well heck if Garrett's gonna make it, I guess that means I better try too. I've got a dandy new Acer Notebook this year so I can work on scene anywhere. :) Rev those engines, ladies and gentlemen....

I'm afraid to take my laptop anywhere any more. Poor thing's almost had it. Battery only lasts about fifteen minutes XD
I've been working in a notebook actually, just to get the brain working a little differently, and it's kind of refreshing. My hand isn't used to it and my pen gives out, but it's still a nice change.

Don't let my location fool you--I'm a freshman at Edinboro (reading this topic, I am apparently not the only one). It's weird to think there's other people on the same campus as me participating in NaNo, coming from a small town where no one had ever heard of it much less gave it an attempt.
Not too sure about meet-ups (because I just crashed my car last week....), but it's cool to finally be able to take part in a regional topic on this board, lol.

Heya, I'm a Junior at Edinboro. ^_^ I never made it to any of the meetings last year because they were in Erie, xD but it was nice just to post in here once or twice to know that I'm not the only one doing it in this area. I don't know if I'll make it to the meetings again this year; no car! Hopefully I can work something out, because I keep hearing that they were so much fun.

Hey folk in Edinboro--Since I'm coming up from the south in Meadville, it's possible I could pick some of you up on my way to Erie for the Write In on November 1, if that suits you. I probably won't stay all day, as I have family obligations. I haven't killed ANYONE recently, either. Promise.

There are also weekend buses that run in to Millcreek from the Boro for those people that work weekends at the mall. I'm fairly certain there's one that comes in around noon and I think there's one that goes out around 3 or 4 pm.

Hey guys! It's great to see you're all so ready to go. I just wanted to let you know that for those of you who can't make the kick off in person, I will be hosting an online event which you are all invited to. There will be wrimos from all over the state attending, so don't feel sad if you can't make the drive. I will also be hosting several web chats during the course of November, which you are also all invited to, to check up on your awesome progress and to see who needs help with sticky plots or characters.
Wish you all the best of luck! Tata for now.

The store borders, right? Not the little tiny one /in/ the mall. Just checking. Cause I'm the type of person who in a daze on Nov1 would just sit in a corrner in the middle of that tiny "store" and write. Just cause it's NaNo and I can.
I think/hope I can make it out! I'll most definatel try!

Yes, the big Borders :) They have a nice cafe with lots of seats and enough space to accommodate the bunch of us. We took up a good chunk of room last year, and only a portion of us attended the meet-up.
Plus there's coffee.

Yep, the big borders at 1pm, November first. And for those either coming in by bus, or getting a ride, if anyone needs a ride home and what not, Edinboro isn't really that far out of the way for me, so I can take people home if they need it.
17 more days everyone!

Hey, there.
I'm from the Meadville area. I did Nano Last year, but I didn't make it to any write-ins due to the weather and football schedule - and nothing comes between me and watching football - but the Steelers have their bye week on the 1st, so I might be able to stop by.
