Hey UW Wrimos, I'm head of the club on campus for those of us both writing a novel and trying not to fail out of school (or just people in the area who want to put up with us). Our club name is the UW Hydrophobic Ducks and you can find us on Facebook or e-mail us at nanoduck@u.washington.edu to get on our mailing list. I'll try to post events here as well.
Post here to introduce yourself or with any questions, etc. Hope to see you all this November!

Heyo~

I do believe I signed up at the table on Wednesday or something. Time eludes me. >_>

Nice to meet you all. xD

(Anyone in Lander? If so, do leave a note. 8D)

Hellooooooooo, Huskies!

For those of you who found the NaNo Hydrophobic Ducks during the club fair on Wednesday, chances are you saw me if you came around during the last hours and our spot was actually manned... year three of NaNo for me, and am I hyped! Upping my ante this year, so I'm even more crazy than I was last year...

Yeah, that's the other thing, I tend to be rather... enthusiastic.

Looking forward to another awesome year and another (potentially awesome but by no means guaranteed) novel!

So, there's a whole household of Wrimos here in no way affiliated with UW....except that we live in Ravenna and the proximity of UW means nothing ELSE NaNoWriMo ever gets planned in this area. Are non-students/non-alums welcome, or are these strictly UW gigs? :)

I think they're cool to non-uw kids. At least I'm hoping so, since I'm on the e-mail list... It could, however, be a ploy so that they can kill me for going to CWU instead of UW... but AT LEAST I WASN'T A COUGAR!

Hope I can make some of these write-ins. I only managed to make 2 of them last year.

(If anyone remembers me, I am the grad student in Pharmacology.)

Hey everyone, looking forward to seeing everyone soon! I just wanted to say that between club fair and the interest meeting, I think we're going to have a great group. I met a lot of new faces and I hope to see many people at the write-ins!

Alright everyone, we're trying to finalize write-ins, so if you have any dates, days of the week, or times of day that specifically work well for your schedule, send us a message with them and we'll take them under consideration. Thanks!

Oh, now I'm sad I missed seeing the club fair table and the meeting you're all alluding to. Oh well, wasn't sure I was going to do NaNo again. Still not sure, but I will probably give it a shot. I did, after all, bring a duck with me. (Hi fellow Lander resident. Which floor?)

Alumnus here, still living in the neighborhood. Will the meetup times be posted here or do I need to get on some kind of email list? :-) lol I'm a dork. >.> Putting that UW degree to good use, clearly.

Wrimo noobie and UW freshie... methinks this is a bad combination. I hope I don't die. : D;

And hello to the Lander huskies! I'm in the dungeon just down the street, hahah~

To my knowledge, no one has ever died from being a freshman OR from writing their first novel. However, I do not know if the combination of the two could induce death, however, it didn't in me last year, it induced becoming-a-novelistism.

Hi,

I work down in the Health Sciences Building, so I may be able to make it to events. My schedule is kinda sporadic, though. DNA needs tending when it needs tending, etc.

I'll try to make it to things when possible.

To Lilac-Hime,

I too am a freshman and NaNo newbie. I feel your pain.
-----------------------------------
To everyone else,

I managed to completely miss this table you guys are talking about. I live on Ravenna and spend waaaay too much time sitting in the Suzzalo reading room staring at the one hanging lamp that always seems to be swinging. Or sleeping. I'll be sure to get on that mailing list! Also, are you guys a real club on campus that can be joined, or are you just a bunch of people that got together?

-Nora

We're a real registered club Marsnmonkey, but all you have to do to join is get on the mailing list and come to our events. We're pretty low key!

Hey everyone! This is my first year participating in NaNoWriMo and I'm pretty excited to have an excuse to write instead of doing schoolwork.

I totally missed the booth at the club fair, but I just joined the facebook group, so hopefully it all evens out.

BTW, anyone in McCarty?

It's BACK!

hey so the Ilanabar Hopes and Dreams Express is back! We're heading from the university district over the water to kick-off party in Bellevue from place yet to be determined in the U-district at 10:50 pm! So if you live in Seattle and can get to the U-district, you can ride with us! Two (Maybe Three) seats left in my minivan!

So once again:
Who: Ilanabar, Hopes and Dreams, Minivan, YOU
When: 10:50pm, don't be late or we will judge you
Where: TBD, u-district
Why: because getting to Bellevue by bus sucks

Reply on the thread to get a spot. See you all there!

Hello!
I'm a UW sophomore. First time doing NaNoWriMo - scared but excited! And also trying to balance school with marching band... we'll see how that works out. Hahaha. Can't wait to meet more fellow writers!

Okay, down to the wire and I still got two seats left in my minivan if anyone wants them. (one of my nano friends in Shoreline wants to sleep instead of write a midnight. WTF?)

And once again, we meeting in the McCarty Hall Parking lot 10:50 pm. I will be driving a lighter blue Toyota Sienana (my parents got a new minivan). I will also be wearing a jet pack and goggles like a person from the future, if that helps as well ;)
