Kelso/Longview?

Starbucks is OK -- I think you mean the one on the North Side of Ocean Beach? I also really like Intermission coffee shop on Ocean Beach and 32nd. They are locally owned, and I think they have wireless. I know they have a couple of computers where customers can do an email check or look something up.

They are busy with a crowd on Friday nights and I think there are one or two weeknights that have a big church group come in, so it's a good idea to check on times with them.

I talked to Crystal a couple of nights ago and she wasn't planning to do Nano this year, but by the end of the evening she had snatched a title out of a phrase in someone's conversation and was clearly doing a sort of mental sprint with the title tucked under her arm saying "Hmmm, maybe..."

Ahhh ok. The Starbucks I'm thinking of is the one over by the Longview/Rainier bridge. It's where we went the year before last. I can't remember the exact address or intersection, haha.

I'll look around a bit and ask. We have almost the whole month to find a good place =)

I wonder if it'll just be us or if we'll get anyone else? Either way, I'm really antsy and eager. I love my plot, my characters, everything. I should try and get a few of my friends to join in.

Well, I suppose we should start thinking about possible locations and such. They'll need to be minor friendly, since I'm underage (I turn 20 on Nov 24th).

There's the Starbucks over by the Longview/Rainier bridge. Were there any write-ins last year? I was in Portland, so I don't know how you guys worked things out.

I've never been to Intermission, but I know where it is.

We could also try the bubble tea, over on Commerce and Broadway (I think that's the intersection, anyway). I haven't been there in years though, so yeah. I just remember it used to be a coffee shop that we went to one year.

Any other suggestions?

To introduce myself, I am Judy aka n10ding.. Have done Nano a few years, and finally finished last year.. I found the secret that works for me and will finish again this year! I have done Nano in Maine, in California and now here.. back home in Washington ( formerly from Vancouver) I will go to Vancouver if I have to for an occasional write in, but would much prefer to do it with other people from this area... So..

Well, there's Elizabeth and I so far. We might get Crystal (another woman from a few years ago), and if we advertise enough, might get a few others. I know of one guy I need to contact and see if he's doing it this year. The year before last, we had several people at Starbucks. So that will hopefully happen again this year. =)

Whoo hooo.. so there might be five of us.. A perfect number!! And more people will only make it more perfect!

Ok, everyone. Let's start making plans for a kick-off party, if we want one!

First off, who all would be interested in having a kick-off party? And where are some ideas of 24 hour places we could go? Or did we want to just have a write-in on the 1st for our kick-off party?

My computer is packed and ready.. if no computer then my trusty pen and paper is handy.. When and where.. do you know the area? I tried rustling the bushes a week or so ago, and no one responded.. think they are online?

I'm not sure about places to go. I think it might work out better for us all if we do a November 1st write-in as a kick-off instead of a midnight thing. There aren't many places in town that are 24 hours and fit our needs. November 1st is a Sunday. Which places are open on Sunday and have outlets for plugging in computers? We could go to a Starbucks, or thisyear suggested the Intermission coffee shop by Fred Meyer. I've never been there, but she says it's good so I trust her.

OK - so can we set a definite time/date for a write-in? How about sometime Saturday Nov. 7? Really, anytime on the weekend except Sunday evening works for me, but I'll throw out Saturday at 10:00 a.m. as a definite time just to get a discussion going-- can anyone make it then?

I can't make it Saturday, I'll be in Clackamas visiting my grandmother and also, my mom, my grandmother, my aunt and uncle, my dad, probably my other uncle, and I will be celebrating my dad's birthday.
