Hey everyone! My name is Tami, and this will be my fifth year doing Nano. I use the livejournal website more than the forums here, though I'd really like to get to know some people from my own area.
Is anyone here from Kitsap county?
I'm from Bremerton and would love meeting up with some people closer to home than Seattle. :)

Heya! This will be my fifth year as well. (And I also use Livejournal, though not for noveling.)

I'm on Bainbridge Island. Last year there were write-ins in Silverdale which seemed like a reasonable midpoint for everyone.

Poulsbo here, I'm a first timer. I'm definitely up for a write-in if anyone is interested!

Meeting up in Silverdale would be great for me.

Are you guys interested in a meet up before hand for a meet and greet/plot share/whatever it is that they do in pre-meet ups? Or do you prefer to meet on random days during nano when everyone is available?

Tamikins, I was thinking the same thing. I am woefully unprepared for this, and having a brainstorming/meet and greet type of session sometime in October would be really helpful to me, if anyone else is interested.

I live in Bremerton, and I'm fine with meeting — and pre-meeting — anywhere. My guess is that Silverdale is probably the most central and convenient location for everyone?

How about sometime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on a Sunday, at the Barnes & Noble coffee shop at the mall?

Hey gang
Tamara Sellman here. I've "won" NaNoWriMo twice now and am gearing up for a third shot at it.

I'm teaching an affordable NaNoWriMo clinic through the BI Park District starting 10.18 if you think you'd like some guidance through the process. http://writersrainbow.wordpress.com/2009/10/05/live-writing-workshops-fo...

[Jim Thomsen, vouch for me?]

Workshops are on Sundays after lunch, a good time to recharge for the coming week. We need four students to run. Please think about it.

Thanks!
Tamara

Hi! I'm living near Seattle right now, but I grew up in the Port Orchard area and still have friends and family over there. I think meeting at the Silverdale Barnes and Noble at the mall on a Sunday from 11-1 is a great idea. I'd love to drop in and brainstorm or have a write-in with you guys.

Hi all,

I'm in Bremerton and this will be my second go at it. I probably can't make it Sunday, but I did write a blog post recently about what (IMHO) are the bare necessities to have figured out ahead of time, coming from a non-writerly, just-doing-this-for-fun point of view. Here 'tis: http://anywayiwasjustthinking.blogspot.com/2009/09/nanowrimo-essentials-...

This time I'll be in Vegas getting married 11/8-11/11. This could be interesting. :)

Newb who calls Port Orchard home. I've been quite interested in pursuing some writing for some time now, and I'm hoping that this may be the kick I need to make some progress. I'm very interested to see how things progress, and I would definitely be interested in getting together with other local writers during the month. Any initial advice for this program definitely welcome!

Hi everyone, my name is Mia and this is my 1st time for this challenge. I live in Silverdale currently and am always up to meeting other writers. Which Sunday is everyone thinking of?

Congratulations, Justme! That's awesome, and will definitely add to the challenge! :D

Welcome, Obsidian and Mia! Good luck to both of you! :)

On the note of meeting, would you guys like to meet up THIS weekend, or a later Sunday in the month?

I know this was my idea, but I am actually out of commission the next two Sundays. Would a Saturday, say, noon at B&N, work just as well for everyone?

I am iffy on Saturdays but will try when I can (kids and swim meets, ugh)

By the way, OMG on the triple post... I did not mean that! Now I look like an annoying spammer! Sorry...

Thx Jim for the endorsement...

How about we look at Saturday, Oct. 17, at noon at the Barnes & Noble coffee shop in Silverdale? Tamara, is that possible for you? How about everybody else?

Shall we firm this up, then?

Saturday, Oct. 17, noon, coffee shop at Barnes & Noble in Silverdale.

Please RSVP here so I know how many tables and chair to pull together. I'll get there a little early, maybe even put up a little "NaNoWriMo" sign.

Jim

By the way, who here is on Facebook? I am. Feel free to friend me there and ID yourself as a Kitsap NaNoWriMo person.
