Okay let's get the discussions going. :) So...what is your plot?
Come on, I'm sure someone here has an idea of what they will write about in November. :P

I had originally thought about writing something related to rain. Now it feels rather strange after all that rain from Ondoy.
Someone had told me that I was very fond of writing rainy scenes in my stories, scenes that were short, emotive, and very meaningful. I thought, why don't I write something that had rain as the "bond" that linked all the characters together?
But I still wanted to give it a bit of a fantasy twist, because I can't completely pull myself away from that genre.
So yes, right now I'm still mulling over this. *sigh*

My plot: kids trying to cope with their lives in a slum. Kind of based off the collective experiences of scholars.
My story also involves my previous Nano cast (to be exact: Mark, Ida, Anton, and Lize) but more of side characters and mentors to my main character this year. We get to see the backstory of last year's Nano and possibly what would have happened after it.

Plot?
What is this phenomenon which you call "plot"?

Oh, mine's one of those Video Game stories, where my protagonist spends his days in front of the computer, like most of us do -- only he plays games. And that's the center of the story.
Let's see... Basically, I'm going to incorporate my schema of the gaming world into the story. My muse tells me I should start writing him from noob and then work my way up to some point in the plot where he saves the whole gaming community. It's still obfuscated, I know.

Mm, I still haven't decided which story to go with. Both involve the apocalypse of different worlds, but one is from the perspective of the guy who tries (and fails) to stop it, and the other is from the perspective of the villain. ♥
I think I might go with the latter. Writing evil overlords is very complicated, but terribly fun.

. . .
almost quoting rii-kun, "plot? what plot?"
. . .
unlike last year's take on literary fiction, mine's a close adaptation of an obscure old computer game.
the catch: of course, just like last year, once again it's going to be in pure tagalog.
=)

OMG, I think I may finally have some kind of plot! That involves a flood! And possibly my NaNo 2006 characters, but only from another character's POV. Hmmmm. :-?
I'm thinking of writing a chicklit story based on biblical Job. Female MC (Faith) gets dumped by her boyfriend, she gets problems with her work and her community, starts drifting away from her friends again and to top it all off, she becomes a flood victim. Hm. Still rough, but let's see where this goes. :))

No plot yet, but it's definitely going to be a cozy mystery-- MC is a high school teacher who moonlights as a wedding photographer on weekends, and whose dad is a retired NBI director. Never mind that I know nothing about (1) teaching, (2) photography, and (3) NBI. Hahaha, this is going to be so much fun.
Medyo pressure lang nang konti kasi very strict ang plot structure ng mysteries, and you have to really plan it out beforehand. Very different from how I normally like to work.

i think i'm going to try to write a fanfic this year (totally hated my chick lit novel of last year). it's based on the online game i've been playing for 2+ years now.
setting: discovery of the new world, baroque theme, magic, fighting, royalty, deception, quests and mysteries.
it's about 3 sisters (who are actually relatives of the current royal family) on an undercover mission to discover the anomalies and mysteries that threaten to topple the kingdom.
currently digging up stories of NPCs in the game that form part of the entire story.
i just hope it's going to be a relatively less painful experience than last year since i don't have to build the entire thing from scratch. D:

I have a fantasy story that has bothered me all year this year. I've been trying to write it in various lengths with no good effects. So I'm hoping the 50K word length will be enough for it.

My story would start with an executive getting hit by a careening Mr. Softee truck while crossing the street.
And the story will involve sins of excess, poor judgement, poisoned outlook, and redemption.
Still figuring out whether it'll be a happy ending or not.

I'm going to do an original this year. The plot is ...... hahaha OMG I'm at a loss for words! There is a plot, but I don't know how to summarize it. It's fantasy/drama/action or something between those lines.
I've tried finishing this
ficplot on and off for the past ten years but never really got to - because I keep on rehashing the plot, and so all the stuff I've written for this fic for the past years (since first year high school) have been trashed because of that! The plan right now is to stick to the original, yet streamlined plot and do a rewrite from start to (hopefully) finish. Since this story has already been 10 years in the making, I'm hoping that it finds its closure this year. =D Not sure though how I'll fare - I'm currently under back therapy, my right shoulder hurts like heck. So, that will definitely curb the typing speed. Le sigh.

DDDDDD: i'm still undecided on whether to try and write the plotbunny i've been wanting to write ever since i fell in love with Naruto, or try and write an original again.
if i pick the original, i've been wanting to try and write something about a woman who's lived through a lot of the major periods in philippine history. sort of like a coming of age piece. but then i'd have to figure our how to write people speaking in different languages, all in english, ^^;
if it's the naruto piece, i've been wanting to do the redone theme of time travel. with Minato travelling to the future, instead of naruto always being the one to go back in time.
!!!... i really hope that third time's the charm. this is my third year attempting NaNo, :)

No plot yet *cries* It's going to be fantasy though, that I'm sure of. I had an experience a couple of days ago that made me think of putting a mystery/thriller/horror element to it too. I have an inkling of an idea what to write (a group of people called the Shifters who can change reality according to their whims), but I still don't have any ideas on how to execute it.

You could say that my plot for this very first attempt has been haunting me for a very long time. Its roots are in the Pinoy call center industry, the Sprawl from Neuromancer, and Major Kusanagi Motoko and Section 9. Plus there will a bit of the Takarazuka Kagekidan, MMORPGs, and possibly a bit of Doctor Who.
(For that last one, I am currently watching the Ninth Doctor and will move on to the Tenth).
So, yeah, it's going to be sci-fi and it's going to be a LOCAL setting. Wow. Malayong-malayo from my usual haunts of love stories and kitchen tales.

I am totally psyched! I have been mind-mapping the setting of my story and have now figured out the names and titles of things, and I can see where the conflicts will be coming from. No characters or plot outlines yet though. But I know where it's going.

A lot of my drabbles, I base on the most common stuff. Like things I encounter every day, a line I heard from a friend, etc. Something happened to me a couple of days ago (I spooked myself! Haha!) and I'm thinking of incorporating that in my story.:P

ARMORED DEAD
Genre: Psychological Horror, Romance
Spencer Hewlett is an ordinary man with an ordinary job in love with an extraordinary Catherine. One day, he decides to ask her hand in marriage, so he buys a ring and waits for the working hours to finish. By the time he gets out, his office building suddenly falls down - everything; everyone inside is lost. The city is in further turmoil as creatures mysteriously appear and the sky turns black. A dark being called the Armored Dead is out seeking the souls of the living.
Spencer continues to search for his loved one, but all the while his mind is slowly slipping away from the real and the unreal. It was only when his thoughts of Catherine faded away that she shows up. Now, they are back to the start, and Catherine promises to teach him love as he used to give her in a life before the apocalypse.
That's the plot,

Mine will be named "Dream Pandemic". I uttered those words ... online... to a fellow PinoyWrimo on a random discussion once, but I cannot for the life of me remember who it was. Apologies, but thank you for suggesting to use it as a title for something. :D
As mentioned, it will be about dreams, hahaha. I've always been fascinated by them. I don't have much set in stone yet, as I originally intended to make a short comic on it, but it basically is based on the idea of a young woman who had often wished to live in her dreams... but when she does make it happen, she can't return back to reality.
Her hubby goes to find her, lulalulalu~ and that's the central "event" so far. :P I'm worried it'll sound like something else without doing it on purpose (it often happens, sigh!) but I'll just keep trudging along no matter what. This might be my first time to properly try to layout the plot and characters, unlike my last two years where I kept winging everything. XD Why can I never digest those writing/planning tips?

I was also thinking of doing something Re: Ondoy, but of course with a fictional typhoon and all that jazz. I'm a big fan of ensemble cast stories, so I was thinking of putting it in the experience of a group of friends, or maybe of a high school class (probably from my own experiences, then).
Until now, I'm still not sure. But I guess I'll be ready by the 1st. :D

In the previous years when I joined Nanowrimo, I didn't really have a plot. Last year, I tried but I didn't get to finish it. This year... good luck. I still can't think of a plot. I plan to write a fantasy/romance story, but I still have to see how it goes. :p
