Hey,
I'm looking for a some locals in my area to participate in write-ins! I'm new to the area so don't actually know what would be considered "close" (I just moved in June from Maryland). So if there is someone or somewhere else I should be directed to let me know.
This will be my 5th year participating, with last year being my first successful attempt and I'm keen to find some like minded individuals who will understand why I stop talking about anything except Nano during the month of November.

The creative writing club at the high school participates in NaNoWriMo... I can't say much for them, having missed their meeting (again! I missed it last year too... and they don't announce any but that one, so I actually have to go talk to someone...) but I would be up for some get-togethers. It doesn't seem like there are many people from E-burg, though...

I'll take what I can get.. seems like there might be some students at the University who might be participating... I'm willing to play organizer if that is what it takes to set up meet ups and write-ins. And Recruit! There are still a lot of people in the world just waiting to learn about Nanowrimo so they can join in!
Looking forward to writing with you soon!

Having graduated from EHS and having been part of their Creative Writing Club, I can let them know, but if nothing else, I wouldn't mind going to a write-in if there are any when I come home for Thanksgiving! I'm doing most of my writing at college and there's only like two people at my school who do NaNo...soo...no writing community. :(
But that's what the internet's for, eh?

Most definitely! A small number of Nanoers is how I started (in college) too, if you support each other even having one other person to talk to about the insanity that is Nanowrimo can make all the difference! Also try recuiting your friends, even the ones who don't "write" if you can get them to try, they might be suprised and enjoy it. And give you more cohorts to talk over the trials and triumphs of the Month. I'd definitely be up to have a write-in over the thanksgiving break time.

Ha yeah, I've tried that the last few years. Got two more friends to sign up last year, but they never even started novels, I don't think...Just got excited about the idea. My sister's done it before, too, but she always says she's 'too busy'. At any rate, I'm the only person in my group of friends that has even got halfway, let alone finished...haha. But yes. Definitely up for a write-in.

I'm probably going to be out of town for Thanksgiving... Phooey! Perhaps if I lock myself in my room when it's time to head over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house...
How many participating college students are there? All of my friends just looked at me like I'm crazy (which I may be) and complained that a 500 word paper is hard, let alone 50,000 words. I still haven't made it to any writing club meetings because of cross country, but that's over in... two weeks, I think. Maybe three. Then I'll be able to go, and count heads there. Since none of them seem capable of posting themselves, even though I know at least one of them has an account.

Hey there,
I'd love to do write-ins in the Ellensburg area. Some locations we could try are at CWU's student union, which is open until 11pm every day except Saturdays (9pm), or maybe one of the D&M coffee locations. I'm not sure what their hours are.
What time would be best? Afternoon, evenings, late night? Unfortunately Eburg doesn't really have a whole lot of locations that are open really late - one of the disadvantages of being a small town. :(
I won't be around for kick off parties, but any time after November 5th (I think) would work for me.

Huzzah! Yay for more people to do write-in's in Ellensburg!
Hey Zabe, I've been talking to another who is interested in Ellensburg Write-ins and we've been talking about a weeknight at the D&M Coffee on Pine & 3rd. We've been trying to pick the best night of the week for it. The Yakima group I believe is looking at Mondays, so we may want to pick a different night (if we want to be able to go down and check out their meetings at some point.) Chime in for what works best for you!

Sounds good to me. I like the atmosphere there. :)
As for the day, I have no preference and any day would work for me.
Were you planning on attending the Yakima write-ins? If so, it might not be such a bad idea to get a carpool going, to save on gas and such.

I'm super excited about the Ellensburg write-in on Monday!
See you there.

Hey Ellensburgers!!!
First write-in went great, if small. Andrew and I met up and even got lucky meeting a 3rd Nanoer (who just happened to be in the coffee shop and heard us talking about NaNoWriMo and came and joined us!)
In case you didn't see on the regions calender, we are having write-ins every Monday in November from 8pm to 10pm at the D&M Coffee on the corner of Pine st and 3rd Street downtown.
Come down and join us! The next write-in is November 9th!

Hey all! Just a shout out and a reminder about the write-in at the D&M coffee on the corner of Pine st and 3rd in Ellensburg. Starts officially at 8pm and runs till the shop closes (10pm or you need to go home). I'll most likely be there earlier. I'll be wearing my gold "thinking" cap (and earphones to concentrate on writing. Don't be afraid to tap me on the shoulder if I don't answer your first hello!).
Come by and just say hello even! Knowing others who are taking part in the madness that is NaNoWriMo can be a huge push in helping you achieve success!
Where: D&M Coffee
301 N Pine St.
Ellensburg, WA 98926-3390
