University of Utah wrimos

Well, I'm here! Also a sophomore and a Chinese major. I don't live very close to campus, but I'm there for a long time. I'd love to do write-ins on campus! Especially since I don't have such an insane schedule as I did last year. Whoo.

I'm a freshman theater major. I live off campus as well, but I'm a good two blocks away. I'm up for an on-campus write-in any time! It'd be good to talk to at least one veteran, as this is my first year participating in NaNoWriMo.

I'm an Accounting/IS senior, and I'm definitely doing NaNo this year (I've been excited since . . . July? At least). I don't live on campus, but I'd love to try to come to a write-in if I can.

I'm an Senior (English major/Psychology minor). I live pretty far away from campus but I'd love to come to a write in if possible.

Are we going to try and organize some write-ins at the Mariott Library or somewhere else on campus? I won't be able to go to the ones at the Sprague Library, so if anyone else is interested we should try and work something out!

I'm not exactly sure what the best way is to arrange U of U write-ins. Last year it didn't work out so well. What are people's thoughts on creating a Facebook group for communication? Or we could watch/subscribe to this thread... And I'm not sure whether it'd be easier to try to schedule a few weekly write-ins at the same time every week, or just have them impromptu whenever somebody is available. Thoughts?

Who wants to try for a day two write-in at the library on Monday? I myself am free before 10:45 am and between 1-6pm. Can we find a time that's good for everyone?

I could possibly do 10:45 to 2 on Monday. Opposite you. :) But it all depends on how my homework goes, unfortunately. Where would the write-in be? I don't have a laptop, so I'd have to either find a computer, or write by hand.

I don't have class or work on Mondays, so I'm all free. Anytime is good.

First year math grad student-- am I still allowed if I'm not an undergrad? I could make Mondays or Thursday evenings, and the more planned writing time I have where people ask me about how I'm doing the better.

Hi all, used to go to the U as a Fine Arts major, now I live right down the street so I would be close to any campus write-ins. Totally up for a facebook group, anyone made one? This will be my first year participating, I'm trying to get back into the flow of writing things and would love to bounce ideas off fellow storytellers.

"The Rocky Mountain WriMoose" already has a facebook group. You guys are welcome to start a thread in the forum on there. I think someone did that last year.

Another U of U wrimo here. :-) This is the first year I've actually participated.

I graduated this spring, but I still work up on campus. (Damn job market. *cry*)

I don't know how easy it would be to go meet up during the day, but in the early evening or late afternoon, I would love to meet up with some other wrimos.

Sorry I couldn't do a write-in yesterday, Malakalima. I would have if I didn't have work.

I'll be setting up shop to get some writing done in the Marriott around 12:30 tomorrow (Thursday) if anyone wants to join me. My plan is to get out of class, eat lunch, and then bum around in the library to write for a couple of hours before heading home, so if anyone wants to stop by and write with me, shoot me a nanomail or AIM message (starrarte) or something so we can find each other. I'm the one with the black macbook plastered with stickers, so I shouldn't be too hard to spot.

I sent you a message yesterday, but I'm in the library today too. If you'd like to join me I'm on the first floor, if you come down the stairs and walk toward Mom's Cafe, I'm in the third booth on your left... I've got crazy brown curly hair, blue t-shirt, and a white macbook with a NaNo sticker on it. If you get this, or anyone else, come find me! I'll be here till about three.

Yeah, writer_smore and I did meet up today, and we decided we'd aim to meet again in the library next week Thursday at around the same time. If anyone else wants to join us next week, you're more than welcome.

OK, y'all. It's been suggested to me to have the Saturday write-in at the U library. But I tried to scout it today and couldn't even figure out how to get into the parking lot. (The game didn't help.) Any tips? I couldn't turn left when I wanted to and ended up driving the long way around the whole campus and still never making it in.

(...And, I could've hit the 50k before the other two if that hadn't taken so long. Arrgh!)

Starrarte and writer_smore: What time are you going to meet?
Banai: I've always been able to park for free by the Union the few times I've been up here on Saturdays. It'll probably be a lot more crowded this time of year though with sports events. Also, on Saturdays I don't think they require parking permits by the LDS Institute, so you might be able to park there. I'm not sure about that, though.

Malakalima: I think we both get out of class around 12 Thursday, so shortly after that. If anyone else is interested, I'd be interested in meeting for lunch (either at the Union or I guess they have a cafe in the library now) before the write-in.

Sounds good. I will try and come. I'm not certain that I can, but I'll definitely try. And I think grabbing something to eat before is a great idea. :-)

OK, well, I guess you saw my email since I got no replies on this message before it went out.
