Anyone out there from Manitowoc or Sheboygan Counties? Looking for a group to work with during NaNo with possibly one or two write ins at one of the local coffee shops.

I'm in Sheboygan... which I reckon is in Sheboygan county. ;^D I've been looking for folks to meet up with for moral support and whatnot. This is my first nanowrimo, so I don't know quite what to expect. My brother did it last year, well, he did it every year for the past three, but finally succeeded last year. So we'll see. What do you mean by 'one of the local coffee shops'? local to where/whom?

I'm in Sheboygan and wouldn't mind getting some moral support for this. This is my second attempt at NaNoWriMo...and I'm hoping to actually succeed this time. Coffee shops in Sheboygan? Don't you mean bars? (Sorry I'm originally from California and the sheer amount of bars in this city is amazing.)

I am almost exactly the same distance from Manitowoc and Sheboygan (in the huge town of Kiel), so by local I meant whichever one folks wanted to meet at! My favorite coffee shop in Plymouth just closed, and I don't get to the big city of Sheboygan very often, but I would be willing to meet up at the java joint of your choice or possibly the library. Third NaNo this year and never a winner, I really want to finish this year.

Well, Sheboygan seems like the way to go as far as meeting up with folks. I'm not sure where would be good since I've been way up north the past few years and haven't been back around these parts 'til just recently. So, any ideas? I think the library would work for me, but I like the idea of a coffee shop (not bar ;^D I don't think beer and frenzied writing go well together, not that I've tried, this is my first nano after all :^)
So that's my two cents' worth. I'll keep my eyes peeled for good writing spots over the next few weeks.

Hey all as to coffee shops in Sheboygan county the only one that I know of that would be writer friendly...wifi included if needed...would be the National Exchange Bank Coffee House in Plymouth...good atmosphere, good food, easy to get to once you know the area...not much in Sheboygan as far as coffee house, as previously posted there is an insane amount of bars but that is probably not what we would be looking for....just thought I would toss this out to ya

Hmm.... I went to the public library today in Sheboygan and realized that there is that coffee shop place on the third floor, and I was thinking that might be a good place to meet and write together. I can't vouch for the quality of the coffee or anything, but it's worth a shot.

I'd be willing to give that place in Plymouth a shot, I've never been there nor even heard of it, but it sounds cool. I'd probably need a ride there, since I live in Sheboygan and don't have a car or jet-pack or magic carpet. Darn physics, ruining everything! Hehe anywho...

So, is a Sunday kick-off meet a possibility? Maybe just get together for an hour or so and get to know each other a bit and discuss our novels? We could also discuss some further meetiings during the month and maybe a "Thank goodness it's over" event.

Mead Library is open Sunday from 1-5PM and has a private study room (#2) that we may be able to use.

Exchange Bank is open Sunday from 6AM-1:30PM (not sure how busy they are on Sunday, but I am sure we can find a table)

I'm in Manitowoc. In person meet ups aren't impossible - but hard to do for me. My hubby and I own our own business, plus I have another business on the side, plus I'm mommy to a 20 month old. I have no personal time. No idea how I'm even going to get this writing time in. But I'm up for the challenge.

Just found out about this today. No idea what to write about even. I'm going to brainstorm tonight.

Definitely can't get to Sheboygan but I'd love to stay in touch with some more local people on here! :-)

I'm just outside Sheboygan. I'd love to do a "thank goodness it's over" party, but as for write-ins, I don't have a mobile computer. Like rtfallier, I'd also like to stay in touch with people on the forums. Feel free to add me as a buddy. It's nice to see so many 'neighbors' participating this year. :)

I'm in Manitowoc, but have worked in Sheboygan and therefore know the area there a bit. :) I am familiar with some of the coffeeshops.

PLYMOUTH: I used to work at the exchange bank coffee house, and unless you manage to claim the back room there is not really much in the way of group meeting areas there.

PLYMOUTH: NJoy is set up for wifi and has some nice areas for groups to meet.

SHEBOYGAN: Z-spot is set up for Wi Fi, nice atmosphere, smallish to meet.

SHEBOYGAN: Paradigm is a nice meeting place (probably my favorite in sheboygan) there is a one drink minimum for being there. I know the owner, as we have done "Coffee House Theatre" there for 3 sessions.

MANITOWOC: Jenn's Java is set up for wifi, large, open, lots of room for groups of many sizes...one drink minimum.

MANITOWOC: Manitowoc Coffee. Set up for wifi. Nice, small, comfy.

I am sure there are more...but hey, let me know where we can meet!

Looking forward to writing buddies!

Unfortunately NJoy has recently closed, did some writing there last year and it was pretty comfortable. I haven't been into any of the shops in Sheboygan or Manitowoc, but would be willing to do either. Looking forward to hopefully meeting up and chatting/writing next month with some of you. Feel free to buddy me!

I'm from Manitowoc. I go to school full-time, work two jobs, and tutor so my schedule's tight, but if I get a spare hour or three I'd love to shoot down to Sheboygan area. If there were more Manty folk I would suggest Manitowoc Coffee because they are super friendly and accommodating. We held my poetry class there once, and I'm pretty much a regular. I know at least two or three other Manitowoc people that will be NanoWrimo-ing, so maybe we can all car pool over to wherever you decide. (=

Hey all, I'm new today, and located in Manitowoc! This is my first NaNo, and I'd love to meet up with people. In-Manty meet-ups are preferred, since I don't have a car, but if necessary, I can find a way down to Sheboygan. Manitowoc Coffee is my favorite place, though the people at Jenn's Java are fun and the facility is bigger. I'm really looking forward to this. Good luck to everybody!

I'd be up for anything, although I'd need a ride to manitowoc if that's where folks wanted to meet, seems like that would work best for people. I'd be up for manitowoc coffee, I've never been to any coffee places in manitowoc.

I'd also be up for meeting in sheboygan in the library or z-spot, or wherever paradigm is, I've never been there.

Sunday would work best for me in terms of a sort of kick-off write-in thing.

Hi gang. I'm in Cedar Grove. This is my second year doing Nano. We are new to the community. There is a great coffee shop here in Cedar Grove called the Cracked Shoe. It's very friendly and very accommodating. I'd love to set up a meeting time with anyone there. I'm not opposed to going to Sheboygan either. Let me know what you all might be thinking. Send me an official time and date. Sorry to head in so late. We just moved and I've been working like a beaver to get my writing space set up for this event. Best to everyone, hope to hear from ya all. Lynn

Yeah, I'd be up for the Cracked Shoe, I've never been there. I unfortunately don't have a car, but I could maybe find a ride out there, or something. There must be someone from sheboygan who'd be able to give me a lift out there, I know there are a couple folks from sheboygan doing nanowrimo this year... Or we could meet in sheboygan, or both, meet there, and meet in sheboygan some other time, whatever works for you. I'd be free for this weekend, maybe? the afternoon would work best for me, say Saturday at 2ish? Let me know what you think in terms of locations. Like I said, I'd be up for either sheboygan or cedar grove, but I don't have a car, so that's sort of a problem... Either way.... see you, I need to get to sleep!

We are planning a Write-in at Manitowoc Coffee in downtown Manitowoc for Friday Nov 6th. I actually work there and have talked to management and they will be giving a discount to all NaNo-ers. We will get there at about 10 am and will be there all day untill close at 9. Feel free to stop in. We would love to have a few more get togethers throughout this month so if this doesnt work for you and would like to go to a write-in in the manitowoc area, just let me know and we can try to put a few more together.

Thanks!

Will there be anymore write ins soon? I couldn't make the write in today, had an emergency run to Madison happen at 9:00 am. Didn't get home until 4:30, and then it was time to be Mom. I'm in Sheboygan, and there is the Z spot Coffee shop with Wifi, but I don't know how willing they would be to have us there all day. I'm not sure about Paradigm. They weren't open last week, but they would be a place to go, if they are opened.

I'm more than willing to meet up on the Saturdays or weekdays for this.

Hey to all...just over a week in and the stess is lovely =) The writing day in Manitowoc last friday was a blast....Thanks to Manitowoc Coffee for having us...this Friday the 13th (what a better day to write) we are converging on the Mead Public Library in Sheboygan at 10am. There is a coffee shop on the third floor so hopefully it will work out for everyone...FireFairie and entangled_dreams if you need directions let me know. If we have a larger group and the coffee shop at the library doesn't work we'll play it by ear....

Hope to see you there!!!

I'll try to be there, I live just over a mile down the street, so that should be feasible in terms of transportation (my feet never break down, heh heh :^) But I've been recovering from the oink-barf, so hopefully I'll be totally over it by then. I'm like 95% better now, just a tiny cough every now and then. So, hopefully I'll see you (whoever you are) at the library this friday! yay! I'm excited.

If there are too many people for the coffeeshop, perhaps we could move to the study room on the second floor? I know they call it the quiet study room, but I don't know how quiet they like it to be. Also, they have a conference room of some sort that we might be able to reserve. I'll look into that. I think it's free for non-profits or community groups or whatever. I'll look into that sometime today...
Anywho...

See you down the trail!
