  • Twilight - first book of the Giovanna Lee series: Giovanna, a young girl, finds a magical Twilight Gem that lets her travel the worlds of Twilight... (yes, this was in 2003; I'll have to come up with a different title now :-( )
  • Return to Twilight - "on the rooftops of London..." - Giovanna's Twilight Gem breaks in two
  • Twilight III: Giovanna Lee and the Crime Syndicate - superhero alternate history
  • Giants of the Deep - 2006 - my first science fiction novel. Wouldn't you know I would choose to write on two subjects (whales and an alternate history Japan) I knew very little about?
  • Mageborn - 2007 - flawed Fantasy novel that could probably classify as urban fantasy - a race of magical beings conflicting with each other hidden from the normal world...
  • Twilight IV: the Witch of Andvarra - 2008 - Giovanna is back, this time trapped in an adventure in a world where magic rules and where her Twilight Gem is not sufficient to let her find her way home...
  • Second star to the right or Childhood Lost - another Giovanna Lee novel, this time pitting her against a malevolent Peter Pan

  • 2003: The Four Corners (15k) - I forget what this one was about.
  • 2004: Red Rivers (56k) - The legendary Knifebearer, foretold to end the 100 years of war and bloodshed in the land of Chithaipa, is not someone that anyone ever expected. A young girl who has spent most of her life acting as mother to her six younger siblings, Aria falls for a jaded soldier named Grogan, who vows to protect her on the field of battle.
  • 2005: Panic (54k) - A young woman who is also a deathkeeper, one who guides souls in the right direction when they die, hooks up with a vampire whose sister has a personal vendetta against him. The sister finds out that he's with a deathkeeper and proceeds to carry out a set of horrific murders to torment her.
  • 2006: Into the Dark Country (93k final word count, not sure what I did just in November) - Princess Adeline of Greenwald, the least favored of her sisters, is married off to the king of Vernon, who appears a perfect gentleman. However, in the privacy of their own home, he presents a completely different face. Meanwhile, a demigod Remnant named Fox finds his life spiraling out of his control. Accused of the murder of several councilmen in the Fertile South, he is exiled and begins to wander the surrounding kingdoms. Over the course of his wandering, he meets Adeline several times, and begins to dream about her and her horrible situation. He finds himself charged with rescuing her and protecting her son, who is destined to end the oppression of the Remnants.
  • 2007: Disappear Forever (51k) - A young man desperate for work and an old man terrified of dying and being forgotten fill the voids in each others' lives. Royce Bently dictates the stories of his life, the horrors, the triumphs, and the hopeless times, while the young Daniel Whittle transcribes them amidst promises to carry on the stories and tell his children someday.
  • 2008: He Sleeps in Ruins: a Valentine Covington novel (50k) - Val and his partner, Dahlia, set out in search of a missing child that doesn't actually exist while a Chicago crime ring expands around them and tries to pit them against each other to get rid of them.
  • 2009: And the Edges Blur: a Valentine Covington novel - Val and Dahl return, this time to help a young woman clear up the mysteries in her past and to uncover an organization that has flown under the radar for much too long.

The jet pack, though, has never really taken off, Wilson says. The problem is its practical application. While a rocket belt could propel a screaming human to 60 mph in seconds, its fuel lasted for only about half a minute, "which led to more screaming,"

2006 -- Attempted a mega-crossover fanfic and only got about 10-15K (I was handwriting and typing in later...epic fail because of my handwriting)

2007 -- Similar idea but I picked a different fandom to be at the center, and I won. Not only that, I got the ChiWriMo challenge of "Kathy Griffin running into a room screaming" into the story (she ran into the Ghostbusters' firehouse...and the TARDIS was kinda smashed into the Ectomobile at the time.)

2008 -- Torchwood alternate universe, I jumped around in my then-newly-created AU and got the seeds for some stories I'm trying to work on now. Won, and got the ChiWriMo challenge in too. The challenge was a "dancing cow" and I managed to throw in TWO different species of alien cow, one of which did dance. :)

2009 -- Dunno as yet. I was thinking more of my Torchwood AU, I successfully wrote a novelette (25K) in it for a Big Bang event this summer, but then I've had to drop out of two Big Bangs I signed up for because I can't seem to write.

2007 - Stradivarius' legacy - tale about kids that discover time-traveling instruments and must stop a sinister force from using them for EVIL! Plus romance and action.

2008 - It was so bad I don't even remember anymore. That's what I get for not planning OR getting past Week 1. -__-;;

2009 - no idea, but I do know it WILL BE EPIC.

----------

Nan07: Stradivarius' Legacy - WIN!
Nan08: Let's Dance - EPIC fail.
Nan09: Raptors and Rifles - on it's way to a win!

'06 (won) - The Outside - Urban fantasy involving the Elvish FBI, green-blooded whiskey-drinking vampires, and door-to-door sunblock salesmen.

'07 (won) - Not Even Coffee Breaks - Modern-day murder mystery.

'08 (epic fail) - An untitled prequel to The Outside. College got in the way and I rounded out at a sad, sad, 10,000 words.

This year - The first in a fantasy/sci-fi trilogy (yes, both, sort of). It involves a bunch of demons and humans and forests and alchemy and chemistry! And I actually have an outline -- a rather sketchy one, but still it's there and it's written and that is a huge improvement over any former years.

I'm planning to do a riff on a world we used for an role playing game with the neighborhood gaming group. It has time paradoxes, mutants, aliens, and castaways. I've told everyone I know that I'm doing this so I have to succeed or lose face big time.

2006 - Legacy's Gift (won) The orphan, Derrikk Trumbull, returns to earth to claim his heritage and becomes a crucial member of the Earth Gov interplanetary negotiation team.
2007 - Legacy's Dawn (won) Takes place approximately 40 years prior to Legacy's Gift and recounts the tramatic coming of age of Quant-ne on the planet Cydnee. Quant-ne becomes a mentor to Derrikk after Derrikk's family dies in a tragic mining accident.
2008 - Legacy's Longing (won) Recounts the deterioating socio-political-economic conditions on Earth. The quasi militaristic corporations' striving for expansion are destabilizing the Earth Government and the Sanctuaries (where the psionically gifted live). This also recounts the early courtship betweeen Jen Englund and Sol Trumble the parents of Derrikk.
2009 - Legacy's Choice - Will recount Quant-ne's journey from an awkwary adolescent to teacher to leading political figure until he must chose between the peace of his world or self imposed exile.
2009 - (?) Legacy's Price - Will recount the role Sol and Jenn Trumbull have in ending the Corporation wars and their decision to leave Earth to raise their son in a safe sanctuary.

This should be a very good Nano!
