I am. I have an idea this year that is a little more solid that last year too. I always seem to fizzle out around 5-10k words. Now that my daughter is in VPK, I might actually have a couple hours a day to work on it. Unless I nap- I'm pregnant too so naps sound lovely, lol.

I'm in Brandon and work in Lithia. Has anyone done this before??? I tried on my own with No Plot No Problem and it was fun, but I think it would be more fun with someone to commiserate with when I can only manage to plunk out 200 words when I need 2000.

I'm in Brandon. I'm probably going to try NaNo again this year. Last year I finished as a winner. I'm just not sure if I have a good idea for this year (or any real idea, actually).

emich:

congrats on the whole baby thing! Thats fantastic. As I understand it (I work at a maternity shop and am in constant communication with the expectant mothers in the area) pregnancy is actually at time of great creativity and productivity. So there are some points in your favor.

I am slightly south, but close enough. Looking forward to a new challenge.

I live in that little area off of 301 & Causeway Blvd where Ybor, Riverview, and Brandon just seem to fall short of butting up against each other.

Hey, another Brandonite here! I'm just south of the LA Fitness on Causeway. This should be fun. I've never done this before so I don't even know if I can finish!

Another Brandonite here. Came up just shy of 40,000 words last year. Plan on winning this bad boy this year. Now if I can only decide which book to write...

BTW, my debut novel, THE NAMELESS, is coming out soon through Black Death Books. If you feel like it, you can check it out here:

What great idea!! I'm in the Brandon/Riverview area, right off Boyette. We should totally do a write-in, it's a great idea. I'm all up for it!

This is my first year here, last year I was already midway through a book when I found out about this thing. I'm excited!

Ray, I didn't know you lived so close. I loved your story in ChiZine and have been meaning to pick up The Nameless.
I'm available for write-in on Wednesdays, but I've been thinking about doing it at my school in order to entice more of my students to participate this year.

Riverview here!

I'm not sure I could make a regular write-in as we have a new baby as well, but I would love to hang out writing and BS-ing with all you crazy folks at least once!

I'll keep an eye out here on the forums.

Also, has anyone contacted the Public Library just off of 301? They might let us use a room to write. Just a thought.

Good Luck!!

I don't think we'd really need a room. I think it'd be kinda nice to be chilling in a B&N cafe or a Starbucks!

I'm actually in Lakeland, but I am planning on moving to the Brandon area around Feb or March of next year! I'm excited. But can someone help me out? Which time should I select from the long list for our timezone? It will bug me until I know I have it right! Thanks in advance!

Been in the Brandon/Valrico area for more than twenty years now - damn, has it been that long? Are you in Brandon too? Glad you liked the short story.

I probably wont be able to make it to the midnight write-in, considering I have church the next morning, and would have to bug someone for a ride. Any other day/time should be fine though.

I think B & N would be great! Surrounded by books and food available too! Sounds like a winner. I also like the idea of Thursday nights...any idea what time??

I generally get out of work around 6 which since I'm currently up in Carrollwood, its a good 40 minutes or so to get to the Brandon mall. So who's up for 7:00?

I'm at ease. Thank you! The military looking time threw me off. I really appreciate the answer ;)

Just talked to my Mom (Who is my ride since I have yet to get my license,) and 7pm on Thursdays at B&N sounds doable. If it works out, I'll see y'all then!

During Daylight Savings Time it's -0400, during standard time it's -0500. I had to wiki that and edit this post to get that straightened out in my head. (-0500 puts us an hour behind our actual time till the 1st of November)

Chalk me up for Brandon too...
I'm new to FL but been doing Nanowrimo for a few years (minus last year, in which I somehow skipped the month of November)

I'd like to hitup a few write ins but as I am pregnant as well I'll have to do the last minute decision thing... :)

Keep me posted on plans and I'll try to make it out at least a few times!
