To help with clutter, and to give us a place to pull events from, try to use this thread to post write-ins we should know about!
We will add events to the calendar as we confirm them, but since we might not be able to add every single event in time, be sure to post the info here!
You can also use this post to request a write-in near you! Have fun, and good luck!

Not quite during NaNo, but there's an SFV planning session, this Sunday.
It'll start between 0930 and 1000, and go for as long as people want it to go for. I'm organising it, and so I can say with certainty that I will be there even if other people aren't. I'm going to try and get some sort of small chocolates but I can't guarantee it as it isn't close enough to Halloween yet for me to get them cheap, and my mom isn't up to driving me places.
The address for Starbucks on Sherman Way is:
15355 Sherman Way
Van Nuys, CA
I'm also putting this in its own thread.

November 29th, 8am-10pm @ Azusa Pacific University. I've just gotten confirmation, yay. Our school is letting us use a lecture hall. I think it seats 200+ppl so no excuses for anyone not coming ;). It'll be good times and coffee and pizza all around (and some writing). Let's finish strong!

I'm hosting a write-in at Caltech in Pasadena. We can take-over an entire conference room!
Location: 101 Kerckhoff (Entrance door faces Wilson Ave. and the building is between San Pasqual and California Blvd.)
Parking: Street parking on Wilson Ave. is plentiful and unlimited (except for the 4 spots just south of the San Pasqual stop sign, those are 2-hr parking only. There's a sign.) and you can park in any of the campus parking structures (free all weekend) in a numbered or carpool spot. Don't park in a spot with a name.
Entrance: The building will be locked, but the conference room has an entrance door outside the building in the same alcove as the main building entrance. There will be a Nano-sign on it and it should be unlocked. (Or knock.)
Time: 10am - 2pm
Stimulants: I'll have a coffee maker, cups, cream, sugar and a hot water kettle for tea. Otherwise, there's a Starbucks at the corner of California Blvd. & Lake Ave.
Outlets - Plenty! And I have extension cords. If someone wants to bring an extra power strip, that would be helpful.
Goal: To meet our daily word count and zoom past it. Blast-off!
Prizes: I will have writerly prizes for word wars, etc. (Afterall, we do have a white-board!)
Hosted by: Sara McBride (Nano Name: smcbride) This is my 5th year! 2 successes and 2 abysmal failures! I need a blast-off party!

The address is:

Starting next Saturday, I'm going to be starting an on-going word war. The word wars will be happening Sat 7th, Sun 15, Sat 21, and Sun 29. To the person who writes the most during the 3 hours, he or she will receive a free NaNoWriMo t-shirt of his or her choice!
Thank you to those who joined us at CK Cafe! I'm sorry about the difficulty of finding the place. It's a little off the beaten path, but it is such a great place for atmosphere.

I have never written a book and don't consider myself a writer, but love the idea of writing a book. This is probably a dumb question but does everyone bring a laptop or do they have computers. My laptop died a few weeks ago. Thanks, Painterdoula

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. Everyone brings a laptop. Or for the old schoolers like me There is the lotech option of papyrus and reed pens. :) I write most stuff out first long hand then transcribe it later. This means the one on disk is a second draft.

For all the Westsiders and Santa Monica folks…
I'm suggesting a Write-in at Literati (at Wilshire and Bundy) tomorrow night (Wed. the 4th), starting at 7:00 pm. We used to get quite a few people at this last year, and its a comfy, nice place. I'll be there tomorrow, although I may not make it until 7:30.

Hi everyone! Some friends and I are planning to do a write-in tomorrow night, 11/04, at The Alcove, on Hillhurst in Los Feliz. We're starting around 6-ish, and they're open until 11. If you're in the area, you should join us!

I think some of us thought to make this weekly, although I can't make it most other Wednesday. However, I think there are always people willing to go to Literati on most weeknights. I'll probably go on Thursday this week as well, if you can make that. (So, open invitation to everybody…) ----------
