actually living in Abergwynfi now, up the top of the Afon Valley, which means my post is addressed to Port talbot -- which is nearly as bad as Swansea, but not quite.

You may not quite get that if you're from Oxford :~) so just to let you know, only kidding.

I'm not a swansea jack, but I live here and I really like this city. Of course there are pit falls and rubbish areas like all cities, but I think Swansea has some great things going for it. I love a city that has nature on it's door step and the gower is a fantastic example of this - the brecon beacons park isn't far away either.

I grew up in Coelbren, anyone know the place I'm talking about?

I went to Neath fair this year and went on the biggest ride there, OMIGOD I felt rough afterwards! Neath is a cool place, I like neath, but shopping for specific stuff is hard - "wandering shopping" is fine in Neath, "purpose shopping" on the other hand...

Neath is Neath and Swansea is Swansea.
I was only joking, mon. No need to defend the city.
Neath is on a downward spiral and has been for at least thirty years. I'm born and bred and it breaks my heart, when I remember what it used to be like. Now it is just a dormitory town for Swansea and (whisper it gently lest they come) Cardiff or Bridgend.
Swansea is a cool place (except of course that it is full of jacks :~D )

Coelbren...the name rings a bell, pretty sure I've been there...but it was shut.

I'm in Swansea too! I'm in Mayhill, just above Mount Pleasant and such.

I vote we have a meet-up, for anyone who wants to come, since November is not all that far away and I dunno about you guys but I'd love some writing buddies! Send me a NaNoMail, guys! :D

Hi,

I'm in Burry Port, near Llanelli. It's nice to know that local people are taking part next month.

Not long now!! Has anyone done this before?

I guess we could meet up somewhere in town in Swansea, since it's a pretty common place for us all to go. A pub, maybe? Where do people go as a local? And I was thinking maybe next Wednesday or Saturday afternoon? Just a suggestion... I'm surprised by how many people are actually from Swansea...

So anyone have any idea where we can meet? And when is best for everyone?

At the moment I'm not working or in education, so I can come pretty much any day....although I may not have my car for a bit, so preferably somewhere easy to get to by bus

I'm up for a meet up - no ideea where, though, since I've only been here a month. Wednesdays are good for me, but I'd guess most people who work would find the weekends easier.

hi everyone!

I've just joined. I live in central Swansea. Are there any meet-ups planned for any time soon?

We could always see if we can meet at Central Library?

Although that obviously depends on how many of us there are, I t hink they're open all weekend and wednesdays too....I know the library in Clydach probably wouldn't mind us meeting there, although you'd have to drive or catch a bus there from town...but buses come here a lot ^_^

central library is great for me but I live in central swansea so should be quite straightforward for me to meet anywhere local.
Is clydach library morriston library? That's probably a really stupid question!lol!

Nope...Clydach library isn't Morriston ^_^

It's in Clydach next Spar.....they have a small meeting room (I know because it's used to a writing group there ^_^) so I could see if we'd be allowed to use it ^_^

I'm tied up with family stuff over the Hallowe'en weekend, looks like. Bah humbug. Midweek (Wednesday mentioned above) is more likely to be doable. Location...anywhere in Swansea I guess. I'll be Google Mapping to find my way there no matter where it is, and most probably walking. XD

if you're walking from uplands, would it be easier to do something in central swansea?will probably be easiest for most people to get to? Wednesday's fine for me, preferably evening, after 4:30/5 if that's ok? Any ideas where? How is wednesday evening for everyone else?
