Hi Everyone,

I'm just letting you all know that Jordan Lee and I are planning to run a write in on the Gold Coast on the 7th of November. So if you're in Northern NSW or on the Coast, here's your chance for a local(ish) write in. Post below if you're interested. At this stage location is still TBA. If you have any suggestions post them below, just keep in mind we will need power for laptops.

I'd love to join this write in, but I have to stay on as a 'maybe' for now. I have exams starting around that time so I have to wait until the exam timetable is up before I can make a final decision :)

I have an actual exam on the 7th, but it's early in the morning (8:30am)
So I was wondering, you don't have to join the write-in right at the start, right? I can come around after my exam?

You can come whenever for write ins. We'll probably only kick it off 11 or so anyway.

Just updating: I've booked us in at the Coffee Club at Broadbeach from 11am. It's open until 10pm so we will go for however long people want to stick around. The address is 9 Surf Parade, Broadbeach (near Pacific Fair). The reservation is under JWTam. I asked and they said they would let us plug in so *fingures crossed*. Does that suit people?

Not sure if I'd make it regardless, but can people not actually on the GC come along? I'm in Logan, so I'm about half way there!

Anyone can come along! Gold Coast is just the location of the write-in, not the participants. :)

Yup! :)

Bring along your writing implement of choice (the Coffee Club usually let us plug in laptops) and go nuts! There'll be word wars too - writing sprints with prizes for whoever writes the most in the allotted time (usually 10 or 15 minutes). Lots of chatter and ideas tossed around. Also, food.

Come along and novel in public with fellow crazies!

Okay, so I just spent a good hour walking around, trying to find this Coffee Club it was supposed to be at. I had looked it up on the map, and I walked around and nah, couldn't find anything. So I text my friend, and get the address. Stand in front of the place where it was supposed to be. Still no Coffee Club. Just a bunch of residential units.
I'm confused.
Was there actually something there and I'm just completely stupid for walking around lost?

I'm sad, and like 5000 words behind on my nano (because, you know, I was planning on catching up at the write in because I had an exam this morning and didn't have time to write before) and I'm thiiiis close to giving up right now.

:(

Just checked with Tamara, and it's on the main drag, parallel to the highway. I'm PMing you her mobile number - give her a call and she'll help you get there!

I'm not down that way, so can't be more help, I'm afraid. Good luck! They are there, I promise!
