Marta,

I would be interested in Elk Grove write ins. I live in Galt and need the additional incentive to write besides our regular Sacto. write ins. Have you thought of a place to meet?

Were you guys able to set something up? I'm compiling a Grand List of regional write-ins.

There's a Starbucks on Bruceville and Whitelock (or Poppyridge) thats fairly large for its location. I'd be free for wednesdays and maybe Saturdays. I'll try to think of other locations.

I'm in Elk Grove too. Other possible locations with wireless internet connections are Panera on Bond, It's a Grind on Elk Grove Blvd, and Borders on Bruceville and Laguna. This is my first time on NaNoWriMo so I'm pretty excited (or was it anxious?).

First of all...Welcome to NaNoWriMo :) I'm really anxious too 'cause I haven't finished (or really started) my pre-planning... yikes!
Those all sound like great spots and depending on the times I could make all of them except for the days I've got classes. They are Mon evening T&Thurs 12-4:15 and Friday 12-3. If you or anyone else wants to try and make a specific day to get together in Elk Grove I'd totally try and make it!!!

I'm interested too - love going to Borders and It's A Grind if others are meeting there, but late night Denny's on Elk Grove Blvd is also fun and inspirational. No wifi, but the staff is fun and so's the crowd!

Maybe we could narrow it down to two locations on two nights? Mondays and Thursdays? (Just throwing it out there...) Evening/early evening works best for me. Might not be making sense right now as I'm all expresso'd out and need to start typing :)

Spent yesterday talking my husband into joining and today? Eating candy but planning at the same time, ha ha...

Looking forward to meeting and writing/typing alongside all of you,
Alma

Thursday sounds great but Monday nights are bad for me I've got an evening class. Well except for the week of Thanksgiving no class then :)

As far as locations go these all sound great... maybe we could put it up to a vote?

I have scheduled a sitter for Thursday nights. I'm up for any location so long as there are plenty of outlets and chocolate options. Good luck and see you on Thursday!

A lot of those places sound great, although depending on the number of people that want to do an Elk Grove write in, Borders might not necessarily have enough tables/seats for us. I can never seem to find an empty table when I go there!

I spend much of my free time at that Borders and I can certainly vouch for that. That cafe doesn't have nearly enough space for as many patrons as it seems to get.

Personally, I'm fond of It's A Grind, but I know it isn't open as late as Borders is... Either way, I hope we all figure something out. This is the first year I've decided to seriously push myself to finish instead of buggering out half way through. It's rather frightening.

Should we try for It's a Grind this Thursday at 8ish? If you can get there early to save a table or two, take 'em. And if this location/day/time doesn't work out, we can always change it :)

***I'll be there tonight at 7ish with a stack of cookies and a large sugary chocolatey drink until whenever the sitter calls me home. I look forward to meeting all of you...

I'm also a first timer, and could make it to It's a Grind pretty easily. My schedule is flexible.

Hi!

I had no idea there were so many replies! Last time I looked there were none.

I am a newbie but belong to two writing groups here in Elk Grove. One meets at Borders, the other at the Valley Hi-North Laguna Library, 7400 Imagination Parkway, Sacramento, CA 95758 Right across the street from Cosumnes River College.
I know Christine, the librarian, and if there are ten or so we can reserve the conference room - fits up to 100 and we also can get internet.

My best days to meet are Tuesday through Thursday, day or evening. Except for the third Wednesday and Thursday of the month. I could also see when I'm available during weekends if that is better for most.

Let me know so I can set up to meet next week!

Hey EG and surrounding areas!

Let's meet at Starbucks on Whitelock Parkway and Bruceville on Thursday, November 12 at 6:30 pm. I can be there from 6:30-8:30.

Omg I totally could have been there!!! :( I need to keep up with the forums so sad I didn't make it. I had plans for that night and they fell through so I was home before 6...

Will there be any other write-ins in the EG area? I'm thinking this week will be hard to to do but I will definitely try.

Hi Ali,

I sent an email to your Gmail address. I won't be able to make it tomorrow night but let me know if you're free early next week. I'll have a sitter then!
