I'm here! I've only been living in Taipei for a few months as an expat (coming from China!) but it's really great and I'd love to meet some other NaNo'ers.

Last year there were a few writers from Taiwan. It is nice to have new people. :+)
Will your books be set in Taiwan?

Mine's set in Shanghai, where I used to live. :) But the sequel is based on a world with a lot of jungles, so I'm inspired by all the tropical-ness here.

I'm based in Taichung, and occasionally in Kaohsiung.
I couldn't finish last year, so I'm extra-determined this year to 'win'.
Taiwan isn't featuring in my novel as I'm writing fantasy, but I feel that there'll be a few Asian touches creeping in here and there!

I'm here. Did Nano last year and won. Doing it again this year. I'm not sure if Taiwan will creep into my novel. It might... I'm based in Yuanlin. Anyone want to meet up for a pre-nano party? I was a late starter last year, so didn't have time to do the whole buildup thing.

Yep. I am an English teacher in the Taichung area. I am participating and writing in English. Fun Fun!

I did NaNo last year but didn't have time to finish up.
Still can't find the balance between school and NaNo, but still, I want to try again.

I'm Taiwanese but live in the US now. My novel starts out in China and ends in the U.S. I miss Taipei!

I'm interested, too! We could drink a cup of coffee and get to know each other as people who are crazy and talented enough to write a novel in a month!!!! :)

Wow, cool - other people. I'm actually only gonna be in Taipei for another two weeks (then down to Hualien), but anyone free this weekend? I'm a day behind (and having enough trouble doing my 1667 a day, let alone making up the 1667 i'm missing), so I need to buckle down and catch up.
How's Saturday afternoon, like 2p, at the Starbux outside Guting station (古亭 on the red line, exit uh...4. Turn around after you exit and walk towards the big intersection) sound? I've got a preference for there just 'cuz I'm close ;) It's not the biggest of venues, but i'm not a native, so my knowledge of area starbuxen is limited. If anyone knows a better venue that's MRT-accessible, please speak up :)

*shrug* Sounds good to me. I think I can find that station pretty easily. Is anyone else coming along?

Sorry, I can't make it this Saturday. I'm travelling to some Hot Springs with my school as our yearly 2-day outing. The following weekend is good... :-( I'm in Changhua county, central Taiwan...

Oh, I'm sorry. D: Maybe we can meet both times, so at least some of us can meet each other.

Hi, I'm interested, but I worry that the Guting Starbucks will be crazily crowded on a Saturday afternoon - no tables! I know of one that probably won't be crowded then (on Bade near Dunhua...across from the new Taipei Sports Center, where they held the Deaflympics). it isn't right outside an MRT exit, but it is within walking distance of the Zhongxiao-Dunhua station. Any other suggetions?

That sounds entirely reasonable. Let's do it there. Can you give more detailed instructions on how to get there via MRT, treva?

OK, then. This Saturday (11/14/2009) at 2:00 PM at the Starbucks near the intersection of Bade and Dunhua. For those taking the MRT. Get out at the Zhongxiao-Dunhua MRT station (blue line) and take Exit 8. Walk north (away from Zhongxiao) on Dunhua, cross Civic Blvd., and keep walking north. At Bade Rd., turn right (it will be a major intersection). You should be able to see the Starbucks sign from the intersection (on your right, past the Mr. Browns).

I hate to be a hypocrite, but I don't think I can go. I missed a lot of school due to illness and I need to use all my free time this weekend to make it up. D: I'm sorry.

Hi everyone! I'm actually not from Taiwan myself, but everyone in my parents' generation are, as well as those above. Hope you don't mind my being here. I'm an Asian-American and actually just 13 years old. So... hi!
