So, uh, I just moved to Cleveland this summer.
I won Nano last year with a really soppy, sad novel... it was hilariously bad. But I won Nano.
I don't think I'll make it to any of the gatherings because I'm running a crazy schedule in November - no, I have no control over these things. All I can do is pray and weep to the Goddess to strike lightning etc. to make the schedulers see sense. Meanwhile, I'm working on building up my shoulder muscles so I can lug my laptop back and forth all month wherever I go. **shudder**
Would anyone be interested in downtown Cleveland gatherings? If we could scare up enough people then maybe I'll bake butter/shortbread-ie cookies for the first meeting.
Any thoughts/ideas/brainwaves/plot bunnies to share?
SW.

I work near downtown (East 40th) so I'd gladly consider a downtown gathering of some sort.

I'm down for this. I live in Cleveland Heights and depending on the number of people, I could find a few places to host this thing with relative ease. Let's start to get something together as November is only a couple of weeks away and getting in touch with some fellow NaNos would be a real treat.
Also, this is my first year. So hanging around with people who have done it will be nice. :D
Email me if you're interested. We'll see what we can do.

I'm over in Tremont (near west side), so I'm game. I even have a little laptop myself, so no more rewriting what I wrote at the write-ins!

I take the Rapid across town every day, so I'd be up for a downtown meet-up if I end up doing NaNo this year (I want to, but no ideas percolating at present). I've attempted NaNo twice and fizzled out a couple weeks in :P
I've never been able to make it to a meet up in past years, but I couldn't ask for a better schedule this year, if I could just get the wheels turning upstairs.
I don't know a good place, unless you count Presti's or Algebra in Little Italy as downtown.

Awesome. I have a pretty cruddy schedule this Novemeber (what else is new?) along with the fact that I have no plot bunnies. The carrots and shovel are hiding behind my door and I'm a-goin diggin' tonight.
There is a cafe on Superior downtown with reasonably priced food and not too far from the RTA (2-3 blocks). They even have free wi-fi. They have salads, sandwiches, soups and other stuff like that. Will have to check on the cookies though. :)
I like the Little Italy places, I'm biased - love italian food. But I dont have a car and travelling back downtown from a gathering might be a little difficult for me. I'm willing to brave the healthline (or whatever route I need to) or a cab if we come up with a consensus though.
what do you people think? Opinions/???

Any more interest in these? I'd be up for something Saturday afternoons in a downtown coffee shop, and I think I have an idea to work on =)

I would love downtown Cleveland. I need something to do with my life anyway, besides school.

I just moved to Cleveland this summer, too. I'm on the west side, but would be willing to go downtown for a meet up.
This is my first year doing Nano and I would LOVE to meet others.
Can we start by picking a date?

Okay, before I try to think of a place, what day of the week would work best for everyone? Wednesday evenings would be good for me.
