Writing buddies?

Hey there! I'm in the market for a writing buddy too.

I'm a 24 undergrad at Florida State. I'm still working on my novel idea, but so far it's about a failed writer who realizes that she has never suffered in life. She decides to run away, leaving her life and all her loved ones behind. It sounded a lot better in my head, but now that I have typed it out it sounds a bit lame.

Where does she go? Who does she meet? How does she plan to discover suffering? I have no clue.

Hey, I was in two internet relationships (only two I ever had), so maybe I can help you with your story. I'd be glad to be your buddy. Do you have AIM/other IMs?

I use Aol instant messenger mainly, but I can use whatever messenger if we arrange a schedule to catch up with each other's progress. Otherwise the nanomail (or just plain ol' e-mail) works just fine for me :]

I'm 22 and just graduated from college with my bachelor's degree in English! Now I'm just taking a break from school, working at Pier 1, and hopefully will spend the month of November plugging away on my novel! After much contemplation, I've decided to write an urban fantasy-esque novel (at least, I think that's the genre it would go under), but I'd buddy up with anyone writing any genre of fiction.

I'm a 25 year old living in Sin City USA and working on a rather rigorous second BA looking for a writing buddy who can understand the pressures of handling college, a thankless job and NaNo all at once!

Now, I've never finished in the previous two years I've tried, it's true, but I definitely won't ever finish if I don't keep trying, right?

I'm thinking I'll likely be writing in the children's fantasy department again but who knows? I also have an appreciation for the mythical qualities of fairytales and I've been considering writing something along that nerve. Then again, I have my modern kicks and have considered writing stories directed towards addressing the issues of children from low income families living in densely populated cities. Roll them all into one? Maybe.

Of course, I wouldn't want to bore anyone who wouldn't be interested in these sorts of stories, so buddy-ship would probably be best if you have a little bit of a funny cynical dreamer in you.

My genre is a little obscure, but I'm looking to pick up one or two writing buddies for motivation. I'm 20 and in school/TA-ing/doing research, so not a lot of free time. My novel is Chinese wuxia (martial arts). It incorporates elements from Journey to the West and Legend of Arching Hero, but I'm hoping to make it accessible even to people who have never explored Chinese literature before. I guess you might be able to relate it to more mainstream films like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or House of Flying Daggers, but it's more fantastical than that.

Well, if you're interested in learning more or buddying up, just pm me. I'm friendly and good at generating random plot ideas. You don't necessarily have to be in a similar genre, though if you can write awesome action scenes, that's definitely a plus as that tends to be my weak spot.

Hello everyone! I've done this a couple of times and I've never really done the whole 'writing buddy' thing, not to say I wouldn't like any! I'm writing something this year that might be seen as a bit on the weird side and I don't think people will get it but never mind, I'm writing it anyway : ) so I'm on the look out for people with an open mind.

I can't convince anyone I know to join me in the insanity, so some writing buddies would be awesome:) I'm 25, working full time and starting college in January as a freshman. (17 yr old me thought it was a GREAT idea to "take a year off before college". If I had a time machine I'd go back and smack myself.)

I need one or several writing buddies too! I'm thinking of doing it again this year (after finishing last year in a rush during the last weekend), and I'm really motivated but also really scared because this year my life is going to be much busier than last year. I need people to push me in the right direction! I'm 23, to be 24 in November, work fulltime, and write gay romance/erotica with, most of the time, a dash of fantasy/sci-fi/magic in it. Hello. This is my second year doing Nano and I'm exited. Wouldn't mind talking with some other people who are as crazy...err as commitable, wait that's not right either...well if you're spending your time doing Nano as opposed to other things, then cool.

I'm 24, and self employeed in an area that has zip to do with my college degree(go figure). I usually write fantasy and usually for young adult. This year I'm taking a spin and writing a fantasy horror about zombies. My boyfriend is a zombie hound and while joking we came up with some really good plot material. I also want to finish by the 19th this year so may need some extra encouragement.

Not really sure what I'm going to write about yet, but I have been watching a lot of Supernatural lately, so that might influence it some. I'm really bad with plots, but in the past I've written about autism, child robots, gay romances, PTSD, and brain-sucking demons, so I'm kinda multi-genre'd. I like people-centered stuff, but most of what I watch/read is sci-fi, fantasy, horror, epic-save-the-world type stuff, so my brain gets conflicted on what to write sometimes. :D

I'm a 21 year old student who is doing nano for the first time. I'm going to try and write this idea for a story i've had for a while and does not want to seem to let go of me so i have to write it but i've never written anything before.

It's a YA/Fantasy/Scifi/Religious/Romcom of an idea. I hope its going to be good but i'm not the best with words so it shall be a challenge. Its usually a challenge for me to write 2000 words let alone 50,000 words so i shall need all the help i can get.
