Hi There, NaNoWriMo-ers!

Is anyone for a five week extravaganza at Le Bateau Ivre in Berkeley on Telegraph ( adjacent to Adronico's)? I'm thinking every Sunday from 11:00 a..m. to 1:00 p.m.? Le Bateau Ivre ("The Drunken Boat") has free wi-fi, good breakfasts; not-too-high prcies.

That would be November 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.

I'm one of the orignal 21 NaNo'ers, have paricipated about three times, won twice. Need a support group this time! Still don't kow what the story will be, but hope to figure this out soon!

I'll certainly try! I'm also training for a marathon in December and Sunday mornings also happen to be my long run days, but if I wake up early enough I should be able to make it and not smell like grilled cheese sandwiches in the sun. :D

Sundays are absolutely insane for me, but I'm willing to try. :)

Oh, one of my favourite cafes! I was hoping someone would pitch this spot. I'm there.

My 2nd time around - last year I was a hermit. This year I hope to join in the community in public starting the 2nd week in November. Thanks for setting this up!

Wow I suggested this one a couple years ago and no one was interested. D:

I'm not certain whether I can Nano this year, but I would be very interested in a write-in at La Bateau Ivre.

Hi there!

It looks like we'll have a nice little crowd at Le Bateau. I'll come a little early and put a little "NaNo" sign on my table in one of the rooms.

Since I originally posted this, my administrator has asked me to work on a project with her on some weekends. She likes Sunday mornings, so I might have to miss one or two of the next five....but will definitely be there this Sunday, November 1st.

Happy noveling to all.

I'll be there sometimes -- am ill tonight, but will come down tomorrow if I can. I'll add a pitch for my two favorite writing spots: A Musical Offering on Bancroft at Telegraph (good coffee, pleasant classical music) and Tully's at Center and Sharruck (long tables).

I would like to write some mornings (any but Tuesday) in Central Berkeley, North Berkeley, West Berkeley or Kensington. Kensington Library Thursdays at 10:00 anyone? It's free. Also, is anyone writing at the Berkeley Main Library?

La Scherehezade (aka Debora, Oakland schoolmarm) is in the house at Le Bateau Ivre. I'm in the room off to the left as you enter through the front door, with a NaNoWriMo sign on my computer. I'll be here until 1:00 p.,m. Hope to see some or all of those who posted below!

Hey, sorry to miss this today. I was already writing by 11 at home and loathe to break up my Day 1 groove to relocate. Taking a lunch break now so I can write some more this afternoon. Hope to catch you next week!

Looks like I probably won't be able to make any subsequent write-ins. Hope interested parties will carry on. Happy Noveling!

I may try to make this coming Sunday, depending on how my schedule looks as it draws nearer! Looking forward to meeting more awesome East Bay Nano-ers!

I might try to make it this Sunday--depending how early I can make myself get up. I've never been to Le Bateau Ivre before, though. How hard/easy is it to find?

It's easy, easy. Drive down Telegraph Ave (easiest to approach via Dwight Way where it is two-way. Look for the Andronico's on your left: Le Bateau Ivre is right before that. We had fun last Sunday and wrote a lot.

Brilliant! Thanks for the directions, Sharyn. I'll be taking the bus, but it looks similarly easy. Assuming I can kick my pesky cold, I'll see you guys on Sunday.

I take the bus, too, usually. You can take anything that goes out Telegraph, or you can take the #7 or $51 and walk down from Derby -- just skirt Willard Park and turn right on Telegraph when you get to Willard Pool. Or you can get off at Telegraph and Durant and take a long stroll down Telegraph.

Try zinc lozenges for the cold, plus plenty of rest and fluids (hot and sour soup is good for colds).

Is everyone still coming to this tomorrow? I've never been, but from this post, it sounds like there are a bunch of different rooms to navigate! How do I find you guys? Shall I just scour the place for NaNo stickers?

I do have a NaNo sticker. Last week we were in the back corner of the back room. I'll be writing in a notebook, blue cover today. I'm heading out for Le Bateau at 10:15 on the bus -- should be there before eleven. I'll also be wearing a beret and black jeans and have long gray hair.

Great, see you then! I'm *also* catching the 10:15 bus (the 7), so maybe I'll see you there! I'll be the bespectacled one in jeans and a brown jacket.

Ugh, I wish I could be there! Unfortunately, I'm participating in a study of the UC Berkeley Psychology department all morning and afternoon. Hopefully I can make it next Sunday...

Argh! I realized several after leaving the restaurant that I had completely forgotten to pay. I hope they didn't give you guys any grief about it, and if they did I'm terribly sorry! If you payed the check, I'll be more than happy tp pay you back all the money that I owe. >.<

I feel so bad about it...gah. Sorry again!

It's all good, Kade. Three of us (Meghan, Sharyn and me) chipped in to cover it. I actually sent you a Nano mail message about it shortly after it happened. Can you come next week to pay us back?

Hoping a few of you'll be there this coming Sunday the 22nd. I had surgery at the beginning of the month and my word count is pitiful but I'm carrying on. This year isn't about 50k but maintaining a daily effort after my initial recuperation. I want to enjoy one group effort at least!

Cheers!
