Hello everyone. I was just wondering if there any write-ins planned for the Green Bay area. I went to Barnes and Noble last year. Their were a lot of people there and I didnt know who was who or if anyone was from NaNo. Hoping to meet up this year. I thought the sign was a good idea too.

It would depend on what day they are planned for. I work second shift and ride the bus, so I'm pretty limited for write-ins. Though I think it would be really neat do do one. I have off on Monday's

I put myself in charge of write-ins last year at the GB B&N. I'm sorry, vw53, that I didn't make myself noticeable enough as a NaNo-er!

This year, I don't know if I can make it to any write-ins (it's my senior year), but I will do my best to show up if any are planned.

Good luck to all!

Have you decided on a time and day? With second shift I only have Monday's off and would like to participate. If you have it on Sunday, also a day off, I have no way to get wherever you are going to meet as I don't have a car and am pretty limited to the bus.

Please let me know. I work half days on Friday and Saturday so those days are also possibilities for me.

I would probably attend if done in the evenings or on Sundays, but I'm not exactly the social type.

We should just pick a date and time half-way through the month and plan on attending. I never hear of anything around here, so if someone could let me know?

Hey, everybody. Hope your novels are healthy. If you people want to pick a date and time to meet, I would totally be up for that. My work schedule is crazy though, from 2:30pm until 10:30 so I could only make a weekend get-together. But I'd certainly be up for meeting the other crazy people. What did I get myself into??

Also, I'm not too crazy about missing Packer games...lol...

Monday's are my best day. I work the crazy second shift schedule too. 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tues through Thur, and 11:30 to 4:30 Friday and Saturday. I'm also on the bus so Saturday's are a bit more difficult for me, and Sunday's are out of the question.

Do any of those places have computers we can work on? I don't have a laptop. Otherwise I would be a scribbler and input it all when I got home.

I'll take charge! How about we plan two dates- one on the weekend and one during the week.

Saturday, November 14th at Barnes and Noble, starting at 6:30?

Monday, November 23rd at Barnes and Noble, same time?

Anyone have problems with that?

I don't know what sort of work schedule I'll have those weeks, but I'll try to make it to one or both of those things, if I can.

I'll try to be there on Monday. Shoot me an email reminder please. So I don't forget. I'll also put it on my calendar. Do they have computers for use, or should I just bring a notebook and pen as I do not own a laptop.

They won't have computers, and I'll be sure to email everyone in Green Bay the day before.

I sure wish I could get to Green Bay this weekend and join you all, but I work every day including weekends, one drawback of owning your own biz. But I will be writing with you all, and sending lots of "You Go Writer" to you all. Let's get this done and have some fun.

I'm with you on the fun side. We are all doing a great job, and just so we know how we're all doing, we can shout it out on the Wisconsin region. Write On! Have Fun!

Just wondering if anyone else is at B & N? I checked with a likely looking group but they weren't NaNoWriMo.

Sorry, the times for either Sat or Mon do not work for me. If we can consider an earlier time on Monday it would be easier, at 6:30 I would get off the bus, go in say hi and have to take the next bus home in order to get home before the buses stopped running. Unless someone lives close to channel 5 and I could get a ride home. If not, I will not put anyone out of the way, not with gas prices what they are. Even if they are going down at the moment.

I'm in the Starbucks at B&N right now. I could get there Monday at 5:30, if that makes it easier?

That is easier, it gives me at least an hour to work. How early can we show up at Starbucks, and do they have a place to work? I might even have my novel almost finished by then, or at least the 50k portion as I'll be working almost full time over the next couple days, taking off time for the Packers game.

You are talking about B&N in Ashwaubenon, right? I wasn't aware they had a Starbucks there. The only Starbucks I know is on the corner of Military and W. Mason.

There's a corner in front of the cooler with a plug. There might be other places, but I didn't see any. It's the B&N on Oneida St, next to the highway. The Starbucks is to the right when you walk in. You can come anytime, but I won't be there until at least 5.

I'll see you there. I don't have a notebook, so I'll be writing, pen and paper. As long as I have a surface to write at, I'll be fine.

I got to B&N at 3:30, wrote until 5:30, so if anybody showed up after I left, I'm sorry I missed you.

I found out the many thousands if not millions of reasons why I have never been in Barnes and Noble. All sitting on shelves, calling my name, wanting me to pick them up and caress their wonderful smooth surface. I found the writing resource shelf by accident as I was leaving, and almost didn't make my bus. I had to force myself not to pick up the book, not to reach out my hand, impossible, and force myself to turn in the direction of the door and walk out without regrets. The walking out part and the regrets part was not the easiest thing I ever did. But I had a bus to catch, and thanks to the messed up bus system after 6 p.m. I ended up walking 6 blocks from my stop. It was either that or waste a half hour at the bus terminal for my bus. I walked and got home about 15 minutes ago. The bus I would have transferred to is getting ready to leave the terminal even as I write this.

I also found it was next to impossible to write while I was there. It was overly distracting. In two hours I got 5 pages written. So I'll be sticking close to home from now on. Less distraction, and I won't have to transcribe it from my notebook to my computer. Though I have found I can write while I'm at work, so I'll do that from now on. I'm still planning on getting my 50k done this week, and see how much more I can do before the end of the month.
