Ooh, ooh. Me! Last year I searched and searched for a local and South Bend was the closest I found.

And South Bend would love to have you, if you're willing to make the trek! The "Notre Dame" region has about 40 active members and we try to meet in more than just South Bend. With enough pull, we can try for events in Niles or further north, but we need you to make yourselves known in our region.

And if you can't make it this far, no worries. Best wishes for your noveling journey this November!

I planned on attending some South Bend events last year, but sadly, work interfered EVERY time. WTF is that about? lol. Perhaps this year I can make it to one!

Well, I know South Bend is way too far out for me. I'm stuck locally.

If you'd like to do local meetups, it would be awesome to meet in like, a cafe in St Joe or something ^_^

I'm in Berrien Springs. I'm pretty free to go either up to St. Joe or down to South Bend.

I'm pretty free to roam. I hope work isn't as big as a interference as last year because it would sure be nice to actually meet some fellow writers this year.

Tashia, I buddied you. I'm very interested in your story. It definitely sounds like something I would read.

Justina, buddied you as well. :)

Ah, thanks! I hope it meets all expectations! haha. I have many people waiting for this one after my last novel.

I don't know how your schedules are but maybe if we could meet on the 31st to chat and make sure we are ready and pumped for Nov 1?
I'm not sure how most meet ups go, since I usually go solo for my writing, save my friends bugging me from across the room to hurry so they can read more.

I'll definitely keep you posted on that. I have to check my schedule as I'm on vacation this week and don't wanna go in to check it! hehe.

This is my first year. I'm from Bridgman.

Um, I'm not actually sure what you do when you get together for this.

Ugh, it figures I have to work all night on the 31st. I think I am going to try to attend the Notre Dame group meet up at Barnes and Noble at 7 on the first. If any of you locals wanna go (my boyfriend will probably go too so I'll have two empty seats) you're welcome to hitch a ride.

has a consensus been made about meeting on the 31st or the 1st? If we're not meeting in St. Joe or somewhere else I will probably head down to the Notre Dame one.

If anyone else in the area is still interested for a 31st meet up in St Joe, I am. I cannot leave the area for now, unfortunately.

The 31st is probably out for me. I have to work late and then open the next day. I'd be up for a St Joe get together on another day though! :)

I'm pretty sure I'm heading to the ND group meet-up on the 1st though, the one from 7-9.

Yeah, I can't do anything on the 31st either. I'm involved in holiday celebrations here in Bridgman with the church kids. But I'd be interested in something at some time.

I'm up for any other day too, in truth. I don't have a job right now so I have plenty of free time, haha.
(Off topic, I do have an interview today, so wish me luck?) :)

I am from Bridgman and could make a meeting in St. Joseph, Stevensville, Benton Harbor or South Bend, although I would prefer not to drive all the way to SB. I just joined NaNoWriMo and am pumped for the event. What time would the meeting be if it occurred on Saturday? Looking forward to meeting with other writers. A cafe in St. Joseph sounds perfect. What about Panera Bread on Hollywood Road?

If we meet in St. Joe on the 31st, could it be in the area of 7:00 or 7:30? I'll have some special little Trick or Treaters coming around 5:30. I, too, would like to meet. Let me know what you think.

So I switched shifts on Saturday with a girl at work and could probably still meet up for an hour or two if it's after 7. If not, I still say we should have another local write in on a different day.

Hi Grace.
I see you are a buddy of Ami Hendrickson. I just finished taking her workshop at our public library, and she is fantastic. Let's see, are we going to pull off a meeting tomorrow at 7-ish? If so, where should we get together?

Also, I need some help. How do we copy and paste our document for word counting? And do we wait until the whole thing is done, or can we submit parts for counting? I will be writing on Microsoft Word, but am not sure how to get my writing from there to here. I can keep a word count on Word, but I know word counters sometimes disagree. Suggestions?

Thanks.

If we are going to get together, I'd probably show up around 7:30. I work until 7 but I am up for meeting afterwards.

And about the word count, you just kind of keep track of it up top (once the first hits, it unlocks.) Then towards the end of the month, the box where you paste your story into unlocks and then it verifies for your "win."

I'm up for meeting at about 7:30ish. Panera or the Chocolate Cafe sound like good spots to me.

Should we all wear a similar color or try to camp a certain spot so we can know who's who?

And how long are we meeting for?

It will be really fun to meet everyone and hype each other up. ^_^

Lets do Panera, it's a bit bigger and more open than Chocolate Cafe. And 7:30 is good for me. I'll just head over after work.

I vote Panera since it's a little more central. I have a Halloween alternative thing until 7 30 in Bridgman but I'll leave right after. I'll be dressed as a balloon man.

Panera it is, I guess lol. I may be a few minutes late or a little early. I'm not sure since I have to take my sister trick or treating. Thank god she's almost too old for it, lol.

Will prolly be wearing a black hoodie and i've got red/brown hair.

How many of us are there gonna be?

OK. Sounds like Panera is the place. I'll be there at 7:30, maybe a little earlier. How will we recognize each other? Should we wave pencils in the air??? LOL

LOL maybe since we might all have our computers we would recognize a large populace that's together haha.

Maybe we should try and claim a specific corner if one of us spots an empty one? Maybe the far back or the far front near the windows?
