Hey everyone! Like everyone else on here, I am completely exhilerated about November! I saw an Abiline post, but nothing close for my comfort.
I work at the Starbucks here in Angelo, so if any of you want to have a write-in, I can get us all some discounts.
Let me know who is all here, and I can spread the word around the college.
(apologies in advance for run-ons/typo's/grammar/just-plain-dumb errors; I'm half asleep.

i'm in san angelo! Doesn't seem to be that many NaNos here, I do hope I am wrong. I do hop up to abilene once in a while but much prefer a group closer to home.
Thanks for the kind offer writingdrummer.

Nice to know that there are novelist in San Angelo. I grew up there, though I no longer live there. Grew up on Abilene Street, lived for a while on Claire Drive and around the corner at Oxford and Beauregard, and one other at the 2 story house on the corner over by Fannin Elementary (though I don't remember the street names -- It was the only 2 story on that corner). I should have graduated from Central, but my dad had to move my senior year back when GTE moved HQ to D/FW. Went to ASU for a few semesters and met my wife there.
Just out of curiosity, where in SA is the Starbucks?
Good luck with your novels, and I'll see you at the finish line!

Ah.. Ok. I think I know the corner.
I remember back when that HEB was a Kmart.... That's been a number of years ago ;D I used to live right off the part of Beauregard that runs behind the HEB where it crosses Oxford.
I do miss that HEB. Has a much better produce section than just about anything I have where I'm at now. About the only place with a better one I've found is Central Market (which happens to be part of HEB :)
Good luck to all of you with your novels.

I'm in San Angelo. Not sure if I can squeeze in any get togethers, as just the NaNo process itself is going to be hard to fit in. Raising 4 little ones, taking evening classes, etc... But, I'm going to give it a shot as it's been on my To Do List for years.

Sounds like there is a few of us around here! I talked to the head librarian at the town library, and she said that I can call a day in advance to set up a write-in there (the library is quite noisy).
----------Yes, the Starbucks is located on the corner of Sherwood and Avenue N.
I'll post a write-in sometime after thanksgiving, unless you guys beat me to it. Good luck today!

Wouldn't a write in after thanksgiving be cutting it too close? I think we should have the first write in during the mid time, which is usually the hump. Far enough away from the beginning to loose steam, still far enough away from the ending to wonder if you can make it. Does the Nov 14-15 sound good to anyone? at the library or the starbucks? ideas, thought, anyone?

Well, my good friend (koabal85 is his screen name, if I'm not mistaken) and I might be setting one up for this Saturday at Starbucks. We haven't figured out a time yet, but I'll post the time later tonight.
----------The reason I wasn't going to have one in the middle is because all the percussion music majors are going to PASIC in Indianapolis next week until the 22nd, BUT my friend will probably have one set up in either place.

I'm booked this weekend, but I'm hoping to squeeze in a little extra writing time at home on Sunday. Life went just a wee bit haywire this week (my mom ended up in the hospital for surgery, etc), and somehow I've only managed to write 500 words.
But hey... I'm 1% of the way there!! LOL

Hey guys! Sorry it took so long for me to get on here and post something, but here I am.
I want to have a write-in this Saturday, November 7, at 5pm.
This will probably run til about 9pm.
If you can make it, that'd be great! Feel free to show up before or after. Someone may or may not be there (I'll be the Asian man), but that doesn't mean you can't be becoming the next great novelist!
I'm a student, and my bio major keeps me pretty busy, so I've got quite a bit of catching up to do this weekend (which is rough but I'm really excited to just sit down and crank it out)!
@gradyp you say you grew up on Abilene St? I live on Forest Park Avenue right down the way!

Pretty cool! I used to live just south of Childress, Second and Third houses in. Course, that was in the early to mid 80s when I was there :D

I'm going to post a new Forum named "San Angelo: Write-ins"
That way if you're looking for Write-ins in our area, you can just look there instead of having to scroll all the way down this one (which can be difficult for mobile phone users).

I'm right there with you. School has been killing me, as I might've mentioned already, and I'm quite a bit behind. Yesterday didn't reward me with the 10k words I was hunting for, so I've still got some work to do, haha! Just keep at it!
If you look out on the Topics page for Texas::Elsewhere, you'll see that I went ahead and posted a Topic called "San Angelo: Write-Ins" for us to post in when we get a chance.
I want one planned for this next weekend, but I would really hope others to be there. writeindrummer and I had a little trouble staying motivated, haha!
Starbucks or Hastings sound good to anyone?
