Ok, i'm losing track of who goes to MQ... And it looks like there's a few of us!
So, partly for fun and partly to see about numbers for possible write-ins and so on, give me a shout out if you study, work or procrastinate at Macquarie University!!!

I hope you don't mind a bit of non-MQer gate crashing. The NSW Writer's Centre is a bit too far for me out here in the west and I haven't a car so ... take pity on a poor ANU student currently living in Sydney? :] I think the hillsbus 619 can take me quite close to Macquarie Uni (correct me if I'm wrong. I've only ever been there once, and that was to accompany my sister when she went to the Co-op to find a textbook) and I know that I need lots of peer pressure type motivation guilt trip to actually write (feel free to dump bucketloads on me).

I'm another non-Mac ring in. I'm currently at Sydney, but I'm transferring to Macquarie next year :) Plus, Macquarie is closer for me too.

Hi Nanos!
Well the Club Mac Wednesday night write-ins (that have been running for the last 3 years) are on again this November. As the Biology Tea Room is currently under refurbishment, we'll be meeting in the Biology Museum at 7pm and writing like writie things with extra added writieness! We'll have word wars, cubba-chup prizes for the winners, and I've got a noveling kit to help us on our way to 50k!
One point of note. I'll be in Western Australia the last Wednesday of the month, so unfortunately I won't be able to hold a write-in on that evening, but if you're keen, you could aways meet up anyway and get a study room at the Club Mac library.
If there is anyone who wants to come and doesn't know how to get to level 1 of E8B, post here and I'll throw up some instructions. Good thing is we now have a train line 5 mins walk from the venue, so it's too easy!
Hope to see you all there.

*Raises hand* Currently working full time in the Mac library! I'm on both sides of the Mac/Usyd divide, since I did undergrad and masters (in creative writing, woo!) at Sydney.
I've got to admit I don't know how to get to level one of E8B, though. For a person who spends a large chunk of their life on campus, I'm still very clueless about where everything is. (I can navigate between Mac station, the coffee cart and the library - that's about it!)

Oh, damn. I don't go in on Wednesdays :(
...There's absolutely no way we can switch it to Tuesday, is there?

I'm from UTS, but I'd like to come also :) Haven't been to Macquarie Uni for a long time - any directions on getting to the room from the train station? I have a feeling if I try and work out the way myself I won't get there till after november is over! (PS - is there anyone from UTS, or around UTS, that might want to have a write in there?)

By next week I'll have a map drawn with instructions of how to get to the venue. If you can find the E8 complex (off Wallies walk, just west of the work compound near the carparks), it's a 'U' shape with a courtyard in the middle, E8B is on the far side from Wallies walk.
Anyway, stay tuned, and I'll get a map up by the end of the weekend (still have to reinstall image editors after putting Win7 on my new PC).

I'm technically ex-Mac, since I graduated last year - Hons Eng Lit, which means I have no idea where all the sciencey buildings are. I am told, though, that E8B has lots of skeletons and embryos floating in jars. True, people may be more likely to back away than help if you say "point me towards the room with all the skeletons and embryos," but I'm just putting it out there as a last resort.
Obzedyon whereabouts are you? It sounds like you're probably living out my way (I'm in Kenthurst). I'll be driving in on Wed if you need a lift =)

(Very belated reply, sorry).
For the general study rooms it's the latter - whoever gets there first gets the room. Hopefully exams will be mostly finished by the last Wednesday of November (students keep asking me when exams/study break starts... and I have no idea!) Otherwise, I'll ask some of my colleagues at the info-desk who handle room bookings. I know there are rooms that can be booked for specific groups, so maybe we could look into that. There's plenty of small study rooms around though, as well as some larger ones on level 3, and there's always the laptop lounge downstairs on level 1. (That might be the easiest for people to find, actually).
