Reasonable hour kickoff

Jim, from my experience, Downtown Flying Star is usually pretty tame on Sunday afternoons. That might be a possibility. There's also Winnings, although I think we stopped going there because it's so noisy.

For meeting that are not on Sundays the Downtown library has a big conference room (not the BIG-big one used for the book sale - the other one) that can be checked out free. Also. smaller rooms are available. There's wi-fi, outlets, and well, the homeless but we don't have to let them come in.

And if you don't like that place I think there was also some discussion about the other libraries around town. I would think they would have conference rooms available.

I know they don't have the coffee and food but they are free....

I vote for downtown Flying Star.

Sounds brilliant! Flying Star is a little expensive, but for the kickoff event, what the heck. No one has better pie for celebration. :D

Okay, sounds like we got ourselves a quorum. A second kickoff meeting on Sunday, Nov 1, 3PM, at the Flying Star Downtown. The Flying Star Downtown is located at 8th and Silver. A parking lot is across the street. What's better than a kickoff gathering? Two kickoff gatherings! Woot-Woot!

I like the reasonable hour kickoff ... only problem I don't get off work until 530pm ... I work at the airport so I would be close ... but will anyone still be there around 545 or 6pm?

Oh no! Now I really want to try to make it to the midnight kick off if possible, because I work at 4pm on Sundays, so there is no way I would be able to make it to this one either.

*sigh* I'll make it to a meeting eventually.

I actually might be able to make it!!! I'm so excited, because the kind scheduler at work gave me Sunday off, since he knows I'm going to be out until who knows when Halloween night.

I am really itching to get writing. If I can get down there, I definitely will.

I will definitely be there. Halloween is usually a late night affair, so it's nice to be able to go to a day time one.

I hope everyone enjoyed the meeting! Very productive for me. However, Laura pointed out to me as we were leaving that someone forgot their sunglasses at Flying Star. I picked them up, and will bring them to the Uptown Borders on Thursday when we meet to write--or, if it's you who forgot your sunglasses and you can't come to Borders Thursday, let me know and maybe we can work out something else.
