Hi all! I am back in town and starting to get caught up on Stuff. Unfortunately, some of the Stuff has involved a rather sick and anxious cat who, assuming he's back home from the hospital by the 31st, should probably not be put through the ordeal of having a million people over at our house. (It's the orange one, Null, for those of you who've met the binary kitties. Freak spine injury. Getting better, but so slowly!)
So, no Midnight Kick-off at Chez LeBoeuf-Little :-( But may I propose the following instead?
Boulder Midnight Kick-Off at CREPES A LA CARTE!
2018 Broadway St (about two doors north of the Pearl Street Mall)
I just confirmed that they are indeed open until 3 AM on a Saturday night--which Oct 31 is. And that they'd be glad to have a horde of writers descend on them for the first few hours of November.
Crepes A La Carte are very very close to the downtown bus station, for those of you bussing in from points north or south. Convenient place to wind up after watching the costumes go by downtown, too. Come hungry--the crepes are excellent, and come in both "savory" and "sweet". (My fave's the Chicken Cordon Bleu.)
Let's meet at 11:30 PM or so, just to have a chance to meet-n-greet and brainstorm before the clock ticks over to November 1. I'll get there a bit early, lay claim to the big community table if I can, set up a table-tent to make it clear where we're at, and plug in my 6-way power strip. When the clock strikes witchin' hour, everybody WRITE!
I can still offer the traditional Carpool Rescue at the end of the night. Even if your bus has stopped running after you've hit your inaugural 1667, I'll be full of coffee and ready to drive you wherever.
If you plan on coming, sound off here! That way I'll know how many seats to save. (And if anyone else wants to offer their driving services for running car-less folks home, mention that here too.)
We should probably have a Boulder-based meet-n-greet during the day time sometime, too--let's chat about that in another thread. I see Longmont has already gotten started planning one of them!

Sounds like great fun, so I'll try to come. Besides, I could go for some delicious crepes.
Edit: If you guys are trying to figure out power strips, don't count me. I'm handwriting.

Dude, the fake blood is required. Seriously, it'll be Halloween! Costumes are A-OK.
Glad to hear y'all can make it! Also saw in the Night Owl thread that Alienor might be joining us. Yay!
John will be with us - like last year, he is participating in a companion November challenge called "NaProWriMo" or "National Program Writing Month." I think he'll be working on an Android application (the phone, not the robot).

I always have my 6-way power strip with me. It was NaNoWriMo got me into the habit!
Since it sounds like more than 6 people will be there, extra power strips would be greatly appreciated! We'll see how the management feels about piggy-backing 'em.

I just need some clarification. The map says it's in Broomfield, but vortexae wrote that it's by Pearl St. Mall in downtown Boulder. Which is it, or am I just thoroughly confused?

I too am confused - after I pulled up the map, I went to the Crepes A La Cart website, where it lists only three locations, one of which is near Flatirons Mall in Broomfield.

Google Maps is definitely out to confuse - it only seems to be aware of the Broomfield outlet on Flatiron. However, if you do a Google Web Search, you should see a few restaurant reviews for the Boulder location:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/crepes-a-la-carte-boulder
http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/17/1413056/restaurant/Denver/Crepes-A-La-Car...
The Downtown Boulder Crepes A La Cart is at 2018 Broadway. It is practically at the corner of Pearl and Broadway. Go about two or three doors north on the east side of Broadway, and there it is.
Also, when you arrive, if you're confused trying to find a menu, look at the Big Huge Mirrors that go ceiling to floor on the walls across from the entrance. The menus are printed on those mirrors. One says "Savory" and the other says "Sweet".

Definitely bring a strip. And/or come fully charged so that some can be charging while others are using battery. We'll make this work!

John and I are here early - we walked our feet off looking at all the costumes on Pearl Street! I should warn y'all, it's crowded in here--smart me, picked the only spot downtown that's open late for food, on Halloween. Um. Sorry?
We've ensconced ourselves in the southwest corner of the place, by the window, in the deep red leather(?) couch, our backs to the "Sweet Menu" mirror. (Apparently they redecorated and the mirror-menus are now all over instead of on a single wall.) As people clear out, hopefully Wrimos will take their place!
Haven't located the nearest plug yet. Will look when some of the crowd clears and when my feet stop burning. Honestly, some boots are made for walking. These boots are not those. I mistook them for those, but clearly they are the other kind.
Identifying features: We are both in black, it being Halloween. I'm mostly doing the crushed black velvet look, with a very sparkly black shawl. Very long hair. John is wearing a necklace depicting a broken image source HTML graphic but looks a little like a priest collar from afar. His boots, by the way, are very much made for walking.

I'd be there with you guys, but my evil father has grounded me! Gr!
Ah just as well, I'd probably go to a halloween party instead. >_<
But my heart is with you! I'll be beginning at midnight for the first time ever (usually too dead by that point) with all ya'll. Have fun with your fancy smancy crepes.

Wrimos are strong in attendance at Crepes a la Carte! We're hard at work--and so are the chefs here, 'cause the Halloween crowd is keeping the place noisy and busy.
The great sadness is, they're *so* busy that they just ran out of batter. Some Wrimos did not get their crepes! Truly it is written, "Every silver lining has a touch of gray." Le sigh.
Onward and upward! Or "upword" as the case may be. Hah. I made a funny.

...and Crepes A La Carte is closing early, because they ran out of EVERYTHING. So we'll be clearing out of here as soon as everyone's rides are accounted for.
Hooray Day 1! Hooray for waking up on Day 1 and already being done for the day! :-)
