I know I can't be the only one out this way.... Is there anyone else from various points not-quite-Pittsburgh who'd be interested in meeting up somewhere around Robinson? I know there's a Barnes & Noble and a Panera that would probably be good for WriMo get-togethers. There's also an Eat & Park, and a 24-hour IHOP -- I've never been there, but I'm thinking it could also work for late-night/wee-hours writing, if people are into that.

I am up in Beaver County, so Route 60 straight down to Robinson is do-able. There is often a Beaver County contingent in these parts of the Internet, but I haven't heard much from any of them this year YET.
I've never braved an actual in-person NaNo meetup yet, so I might not be the best first person to answer you. But honestly: BEAVER COUNTY WRIMOS, CHECK IN! Robinson's not THAT far for us due to Route 60 running up our way....

*waves hi* In Bridgeville, and I plan on spending some serious writing time out in Robinson this year. (Again.) Would love to meet up with other Wrimos!

Oddly enough, we all have either crocheting or cross-stitch as hobbies in our profiles. (I actually do cross-stitch as well as crocheting but didn't list it since I don't do it often.)
I am scrambling to finish an afghan by Christmas (right now it's the length of a skirt!) -- I do one every year for some poor soul on my Christmas list. During NaNo, it's hard to do much reading as a non-NaNoing hobby, so crocheting is often a good choice. Mindless, works the fingers differently, and feels productive without being overly stressful....
I frequent a bunch of places to write during November: Cafe Kolache in Beaver, our local county libraries, and B&Ns in Robinson, Cranberry, and Monroeville on rare occasions.
I once cranked out over 5,000 words in the B&N in Robinson as I tried to scramble at the end of the month to catch up for several days when I did no writing at all.....

How weird, I didn't see that in the profiles! I stick to cross-stitch, though (never learned to knit.) JoAnn's sales aisle is a bad, bad place for me.
Robinson's BN is probably my favorite place to write- I staked out a seat in the cafe all throughout last year. That, and the Starbucks across the street are where I frequent the most.

Aha, I see the calendar on the main Pittsburgh area page shows at least a few "North" write-ins. Looks like the first one is this week in the Cranberry B&N. I'll probably go to this one. Cranberry is about the same half-hour driving distance for me as Robinson is.
Hope Cranberry works for some of you guys! And the calendar is right: This B&N Cafe is usually chilly. I've actually LEFT more than once because I was too cold (any time of year) and couldn't bear to sit still there anymore. Bring a jacket ... for INSIDE!
Hope everyone's first day is going well!

I personally live very close to the Robinson area (North Fayette), but I'm currently at school north of Pittsburgh. So, if I ever come home for a weekend, it might be cool to meet up or something, since I'll be around that area. I used to frequent Panera quite often for their wireless and also used to drop in at Barnes and Noble during my lunch break over the summer, so I like both those places :)
