Hello happy people!
I’m going to find myself a table in a café on King St, Newtown on Sunday 1st. Probably 3-5pm. Anyone wanna join me and we can give each other a boost up to start our word count this month.
I've a couple of fave cafés with free wireless. But will decide which one when I get an idea of how many peeps are interested in joining me.
So reply to this thread or drop me a line if you’re keen. If we get a few of us I’ll try and reserve a bigger table than just for one :-) Further deets/decisions posted Friday.

Yeah, I'd be interested. Not sure if I could make Newtown, but anything in the city-ish is great!

Would love to do that but I have a commitment from 2pm...any chance of doing it in the morning?
Also, not sure a cafe with wireless is, in fact, the best choice! I would be likely to spend two hours messing around online instead of writing!!!

count me in! newtown or the city is fine by me, and wireless or not (internet can be evil for procrastination!).

Hey all... If anyone's interested in an informal write-in tomorrow (Sunday 1st) in Newtown, I'll be plonked in Funky Cafe (near Mitre 10) on King St. 3-5pm.
Umm, sorry LDfreedomTB... not the morning - will need that to get over potential halloween hangover... those that do drop in... you'll recognise me by the large coffee. Oh and the red in my hair and the tiny laptop. I'll likely sit up the back of the cafe.
Happy November all!
xx

Hi there miss. y,
My guy and I will be there. We are Petersham writers and know the Funky Cafe well.
Looking forward to it!
I'm a short blonde and he's a tall brunette.
See you tomorrow

Hi everyone!
We just had a very successful write in at the Funky Cafe in Newtown. Met each other, swapped briefs on our writing projects, got our word counts started, and inspired each other to some serious writing numbers before Wednesday!
We've decided to get together this coming Wed night from 6pm on upstairs at the Town Hall Hotel.
And you're ALL invited.
We'll be the group in the corner, huddled over laptops, hiding behind wine, beer and coffee!
see you there!

That wednesday write-in was host to my most productive day yet - if there's another inner west one happening on saturday, that would be fantastic.

I'm up for another inner west write in.
I liked the funky cafe - I thought it was a little better than the pub. What does everyone think?
can I propose 4-6pm this afternoon?

That sounds good to me - haven't been to that café before but should be easy enough to find.

Oh I'm so sad I missed both Wed and the weekend gatherings.
Was laid out for the count with the Flu :-(
Hope to catch up with both people, and word count, in the coming week!

Sorry I missed the weekend meetup also - headcolds are rarely fun.
Is another one in the works for sometime this week perhaps?
cheers

I'm up for pretty much any during the week - I think all it would take is for someone to call a time and place.

Well is Blacktown considered inner? how about a meet up in either Blacktown or Parramata on Sunday? during the day?
Sorry I'm new to sydney and still learning all the suberbs. If it's not on the trainline, chances are I haven't heard of it.
Cheers

Those would be considered outer, more or less - So far the Inner West ones i've been to have been at Newtown, though I'd say that definition stretches a few stations past that too. Sunday seems to be a very popular day too, but hopefully for you there'll be a few out that way who have the day free
Welcome to Sydney anyway :-D

Hey there everyone!
Really sorry to hear about the various colds! I've had a sick family member and have been making horrid trecks out to Sutherland (nothing wrong with 'The Shire'- just a long way for me and a long time since I was a shire gal) ... so I hadn't organised a mid week write in.
I'm busy tonight and tomorrow night but I am happy to be a part of a weekend one again.
Any preferences for days and times? Do you all want that Saturday arvo again?
Preference for cafes or pubs or new venue?

I'd love to come to one of the weekend write-ins, but I'm under 18. Is this a problem for anybody? I'm very keen to meet up with other writers in Sydney to get some fresh ideas and inspiration. Having a ready supply of caffeine would also be fantastic :D

I don't think it's a problem - if it's saturday, I'd imagine it would be at a cafe again, which is pretty much an all-ages venue anyway. Whatever gets people writing.

So how does Saturday arvo, 3-5pm at Funky Cafe on King st sound?
Managed to score that 'No Plot No Problem' novel writing kit from work too if people wanna have a rummage through it.
See you all there?

Hey, I'm hoping there's a repeat of this for this weekend. I had every intention of rocking up to the café last Saturday only to be waylaid by an unexpected (and fortunately only half-arsed) flu'. While this prevented me from leaving the house, it didn't diminish the weekend's word count any.
Still, it'd be cool to meet some fellow Sydney NaNoWriMo-ites before the month wraps up...
