How about a Final Count Down Party and Celebration?

1) Start at 6 pm at Blue Moon in Minneapolis, as many people like that spot and its on a busline. (I might be able to get their earlier).

2) At 9PM meet at Denny's on E. Lake St. for the final count down and quick spirts to finish your novel. I thought Denny's had good Wi-Fi too. Also, underagers could join us.

These places were chosen because of their proximity to each other, there more central location and the likelyhood of at least one person being in a time crunch to finish their novel on time, and needing all the time they can get.

Thanks!

I do believe there's already a midnight write-in at that very same Denny's. Some people are meeting at 11:30 to count down and start hacking away.

Not that there's anything wrong with getting started early...

Are you talking about the beginning of NaNo, or the end?

DENNY'S ON LAKE STREET: Yes, beginning of Nano, Saturday night at 11:30, then start writing altogether at 12:00:01!

I saw some conversation briefly about gathering across the street at the Town Talk for a brief libation earlier in the evening; don't know if that came to fruition or not.

But it sounds like there's going to be a good, lively group at Denny's, and we have Synaptic Jam to thank for getting us going on the idea! I'm looking forward to seeing lots of you there.

I believe I understand the confusion here. The Countdown to the beginning of NaNo will be at the Lake Street Denny's on the night of the 31st. This lovely thread is a plan ahead for the "final countdown" (cue music) da da da dum... da da da da dah. da da da dum... etc etc etc. on Nov 30th...

Meet November 30th at the blue moon at 6pm and then book it down to Denny's to cross the finish line at 23:59p Monday night 11/30/09.

At least, that's how I'm reading this...

Yes, I do mean on the LAST day we can write. :D I had forgotten to put in the date. Sorry!

When: November 30th, the Monday.
Where: Blue Moon
Time: 6PM - 8:50 or so

Then to... CHANGE OF VENUE (needs address)
Where: IHOP
Time: 9:15pm - midnight or later

For what:
Last call write-in and count down to the FINISH of Novel and time where no more writing can be had.

Then we celebrate all the finished novels. ;)

EDIT:

DUE TO THE EXPERIENCE AT DENNY'S:
One person posted on another thread that they refuse to do Denny's ever again.
I understand it was a unique experience, however because I don't want to allienate ANYONE on this night I'm changing the end location to IHOP, as I really don't care as this isn't in the middle of a marathon write-ing session.

...which IHOP?

I'm up for it... now... but it really depends on personal level of sanity that particular Monday, and how far I'd have to drive.

FYI--- the Blue Moon is open until 11:00 pm on weeknights, and while that doesn't get us to midnight, I don't plan on writing until the very last minute (knock on wood!) so that would be good enough for me.

Also, while we haven't posted this as official yet, the TGIO party will be on December 1st, so we will be partying the very next day. (No questions abou the event yet... it will be announced later.)

I might come if I'm not done already. I have tended to cross the 50k mark a few days early that last couple of years. I don't think I'd stay till midnight (hubby works early next morning and kiddies got school) but I'm game for the Blue Moon.

Usually the TGIO party is on a weekend I thought. My event wasn't meant to interfere with that party. lol

If the Blue Moon is open until 11pm, on a Monday, I'm willing to do whatever people wanted.

The IHOP was the one by MOA that everyone was talking about on another thread.
So...people Post what YOU want and Majority Wins!
Thanks!
