Technically, I live in Ada. But one of our offices (for the day job) is in Muskogee, so I'm usually there at least once a month on a Saturday. (In Muskogee, not necessarily at the office.)

I am in Muskogee. I am getting notices from Nashville, where I used to live. They're having 7 joint writing sessions at places like IHOP and Starbuck's, with prizes donated by local merchants. We no longer have Starbuck's or Azalea, but if anyone's interested we might find a few venues in the tri-city area (Tahlequah, Muskogee, Wagoner -g-) for one- or two-hour writing sprints and/or brainpicking. The Nashville gal says one can write about 1,000 words in an hour. She obviously doesn't have Freecell on her computer. :-)
We could probably meet at IHOP and beg a room from NSU and/or libraries. Anyone interested?
At least, let's keep in touch online for encouragement. This has really sneaked up on me, and I have quite a bit of other things to do in November, so I will appreciate contact.

Just popped in from the Tulsa group and saw this thread. I'm 25 miles north of Tahlequah near Leach. Would love to meet writers closer to home!

Hi, Nancy! Just left you a msg on the Tulsa forum.
Yes, let's plan to get together. See if we hear from anyone else here who's interested, then just set a date and time and place.
Which would be more convenient for you? Tahlequah? Muskogee? Hulbert? LOL!

Tahlequah seems to be most central to folks on this group. Let's try that.
I'm busy Mondays and Fridays this month, and the first Wednesday. Oh, and the first Saturday is my grandson's birthday party. The 18th and 19th I have to be in OKC.
Afternoons and evenings are best for me.
Any place that is wheelchair accessible works. That includes "the facilities." I hate going to wonderful resturants only to find that the bathroom door is only 24" wide--actually only 22" because the open door and hinges block part of the opening--and my 28" wheelchair can't get through. (Is ADA compliance too much to ask?)
Hope all of this isn't impossible to work around. I'd really like to see a local group--get it established to have our own next year!

I really need some inspiration! I'll be out of town 18-23. Other than that, I am mostly available. Tahlequah is fine with me, but I am not familiar with the restaurants, etc.
I did speak to the IHOP manager in Muskogee, and they are open to having us there in non-busy times (afternoons, then after dinner around 8 during the week). Perhaps we could meet various places? Or someone in Tahlequah could suggest a place and check to see if we're welcome. :-)
Did the Starbuck's there survive?
