hey, all. i just realized that i scheduled the first day marathon at the same time as my partner's son's birthday party. i thought his party was earlier in the day, but it's 3-5 that same day. can someone take point on this and be the one in charge of set up and clean up?

I'd offer, but I have no idea what's involved with setting up.

Hey Rhia,
DM me with the details. I'd be happy to set up and clean up. I'm sure everyone will chip in and help, too!

I just called Bookmans and asked; they DO have electrical outlets in the community room that we may use. It probably wouldn't hurt to bring an extension cord or power strip in case the outlets are in the wrong places.

I can bring a surge protector if someone can bring an extension cord perhaps we can "beg" the owner to let us plug in somewhere.

There will be no need to beg, they already gave us permission to plug in.

I'll bring one too, just in case...fortunately I moved just over a month ago and still have not unpacked most of my things, so I actually know where the surge protectors are. Yaaay~

Besides a laptop, what else is needed? Are we allowed to bring snacks and drinks?

This was really fun, guys! It was my first write-in, and the sound of all those keys clicking really got me going. :D I'm glad I got to meet some more people, and race everyone in the word war. Now I'm just going to stop typing for the night and rest my hurt wrists.

It did look like you were in some serious pain! :(

The good news is that you are a rabid typist and must have oodles of wordcount by now. :P

I am contemplating doing more writing tonight, but I must admit that I am somewhat burned.

I feel like such a slacker when I see the word count next to some of you guys bars...I was sick today so I couldn't come and I only wrote a little over 500 words last night because my fever was making me a little hazy. Hopefully I'll catch up tomorrow.

Yeah, my back and wrists both hurt from all the typing today! It was really great, though; I'll have to keep coming to write-ins!
