Is anyone planning any write ins besides the Sunday ones? Someone mentioned Tuesday evenings at the kick off. I would be in for that. I need all the typing time outside of the home as I can get - husband, 3-year-old, labs, moving. Nuts!

I would be willing to do Tuesday's if anyone wants to...I also have child, dogs, husband...so any time out of the house would be appreciated!

Tuesdays works for me as well. I live just down the street from the courthouse, are there suitable places near there for typing, treats, and coffee? Anyone know if that Starbucks near Montezuma and Sheldon (?) has power outlets - or maybe Cuppers or that other coffee place on S. Montezuma (Sacred Bean?). Wi-Fi is optional for me, since I'm supposed to be typing and not cruising the web. Or is there somewhere more convenient for other folks?

It sounds like Tuesday is a good night for a lot of you. Let me know when you come up with a place to meet and I'll get it added to the calendar so that it's fully visible to others. If someone takes the lead in this (as I can't get over there on a week night), I can pass on a few stickers to hand out to those who show up.
Did you want to set up a write-in for every Tuesday for the month of November?

It sounds like we do. I have the afternoon off and will call around for a good spot with outlets and not necessarily wifi ;) and post back later. In the mean time - 6:00 to 8:00? Does that work for everyone?

6-8 works for me, I've kind of blocked that time each day for writing already :)

Raven Cafe comes highly recommended and can accomodate us. I said between 5 and 15 writers and they said no problem. They have a happy hour from 4-6 if you need to get warmed up. haha. It is located at 142 N Cortez St, Phone 928-717-0009. They have a website it you want to google them.
I am always open to other suggestions.
Thanks! I am getting so excited!!

We met there for most of the write-ins back in 2007. The only problem we had was that on Sunday afternoon it was rather loud there (maybe take headsets and use music to tune it out?). But the people there were very welcoming to our little group, which was very nice. They also had plenty of plug-ins.

The local "wordsmiths" group also tried to meet there on Sundays over the summer, but it was too loud as well and they moved to the library - but there aren't any snacks at the library :( Their coffee stand is closed on Sunday.
I looked at the Raven's web calendar and it doesn't look like we'll be competing with many music groups - but it does look as if several start at 8PM when we would be leaving. We could try it out and see what the noise level is like and go from there...

I have a list of coffee shops downtown. Let's try the Raven and I'll get there early and peek inside some of the other ones so we can have a back up. Thanks! 16.5 hours!!

I should have added unless someone knows from experience or rumor of a better spot. :) If so we should start there. Thanks!

6-8pm Tuesday night at the Raven Cafe is now on the Google calendar. I'll wait to add any other Tuesdays until a decision is made as to possible alternatives.

I'll give it my best to get there on Tuesdays. I may even go a little early and grab a bite to eat before writing. Thanks for organizing this.

Tuesday write-ins are a godsend. I work a mid shift and weekends so I can't do the Monday chat or Sunday write-ins.
Thank-You!

This is my first time trying this, and not sure if i will be more or less productive writing out of the house than i am at home. But i do love the Raven, so i will try to be there.

After all that it looks like I have to fill in for my sick boss at a community public meeting. Have a great time and I look forward to Sunday and next Tuesday. If you all decide to try another place next week please be sure to post it. Now I'm off to guilt my boss into something nice for me...

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie but I hope to make it to see you all on Tuesday. My name is Moses, and I'm working on my first novel, which is a bit of a fantasy novel, but I'd compare it to the Iliad more than anything else. It's a WIP, so technically I'm 'cheating' on NaNo (sorry NaNo, it's not about you--it's about me), but I'm going for my first month over 25K words and hoping for 50K.

Tuesday nights at 6:00 at the Raven sounds great! My apologies for missing the kick-off party. I had an urgent family matter to attend to in California. :( Sigh. I guess I'll get over it.
I look forward to meeting you all at the Raven on Tuesday and the Yellow Leaf on Sunday.

I'm also sorry i didn't make it. My laptop is acting strangely, so i stayed home and cranked out a few thousand words on the old reliable (be heavy to lug around) desktop. If i can get my laptop fixed, i'll try to make it next week. Good luck all.
