Huggs and take a deep breath.
Work on the papers on Saturday and just do a scene a day when you can. Remember that anything you write will be more than you had before. Keep a notebook with you so you can write stuff while stuck in traffic or waiting for the bus, a professor who's late, etc.
A friend of mine even has bathtub crayons so she can plot in the shower.
You'll do fine, once we can put fingers to keyboard and start writing.

Yes, I'm freaking out a little too! All month I've been thinking about writing down an outline to to work from...and now suddenly Nano is two days away and the outline is still in my head. So I'm right there with you!

First and foremost is breathing. It's not underrated! Keep doing it and you'll be fine.
Remember that November has 30 days, so if you don't have your entire story ready to go on the 1st, you've got a few days to work it out.
Sometimes, if you're open enough, the characters will tell you their story and all you need to do is write it.
Life will throw obstacles at you (as it always does anyway). It's best to prioritize so you can get done what has to get done and then get writing.
If you're one of those technical people, all you need to write is 1,666.667 words a day. That may seem like a lot, but once you're writing, in that inspired space, you'll get there with no problem.
The more you write, the easier it gets. It's true.
THE most important thing to remember during this month is that, even if you don't hit the magic 50k, you've started a novel, you have something you didn't have on October 31st. There are still many people who've never started.
The other important thing to remember is to have fun. Don't get twisted if your characters are rebelling on the 10th. You've got time to discuss things and work it out.
Don't forget, if you have any issues, or you get stuck, you can either post your conundrums here, email me, or go to one of the many forums where folks are working through the same concerns and may have a ready solution for you.
There are no problems, only unsolved challenges.
Happy Writin's!

Take deep breaths, and remember you're supposed to have fun. Even if you don't get 50K in a month you have at the very least started the novel you had in your head. So prioritize yourself, enjoy what your writing, and good luck.

If you think about it, you'll freak. Don't think. Just write. And, as Gary said, even if you don't hit 50,000 words, you've started a novel!
I've never hit the magical 50,000 words, although I've come close. There are a lot of reasons why. Grad school. Work (I work in a very time-consuming, stressful field). Assorted other things. But I've never freaked. I just plugged along and tried to do my best. That's all you can ask for yourself. Do your best.
