OK!! It's almost noon, which means TWELVE HOURS AND COUNTING!! I can almost feel the hum of excitement from all our local Wrimos. Let's see:
1. HAPPY HALLOWEEN to you all. If you're planning on going to Freakfest (and I sorta wish I were) remember to dress warmly. Looks like it's going to be fun but cold.
2. My list for today: shovel out my writing room, getting rid of all the clutter and stuff and clearing the decks in preparation. Put out my outdoor decorations so the kidlets know THERE BE TREATS HERE! Finish my one-hour intense program on Marriage in the Fur Trade (to be given in one week. Only three more books to research. Faint. Revive. Dance nekkud in the living room as part of an Exotic Pagan Ritual.
Wait. That last part? NO. My most exotic pagan ritual involves fleece pajamas, teddybear slippers and the lighting of incense.
3. Gather up Hermione (my eeepc netbook), notebook and enthusiasm and head for PERKINS ON UNIVERSITY at about 11:00 pm in preparation for The First Few Words. I'll be meeting Tinyvoid there, and anyone else who can make it.
3a. My plan is to get there, secure a large booth, notify the hostess what's going to be happening, and put up a table sign of some sort reading "NOVELS STARTING HERE: NaNoWriMo" or some such obvious thing as that. I think I'll try for a booth in the back so if you're coming, look there. Right now it looks like it'll be just the two of us but more are welcome.
NOTE: this is NOT the Official Kick-Off, which is tomorrow at the Italian Workmen's Club at 9:00 am; I'm hoping to meet whole rollicking BUNCHES of folks on that occasion! (There was mention of nosh and beverages and nomming.)
ANOTHER NOTE: tonight - and tomorrow and at any times in the future, for those whom I have NOT met before (Bex, James, Zombie....you already know this). I AM 4'11" TALL. I WEAR ANKLE-LENGTH COTTON DRESSES (think "baggy, with pockets, comfie") I WEAR MY HAIR CAUGHT UP IN A BARRETTE and while there might be "silver threads among the brown" it's not as grey as I'd like.
