It's a bit late, but... Here are some useful "how-to" books for NaNoWriMo. Some of these are in area public libraries.

Chris Baty, No Plot? No Problem! This book, by the founder of NaNoWriMo, remains the best guide to approaching the month of November. Hard to find in October and November.

Lazette Gifford, NaNo for the New and the Insane. Online here. Emphasizes the madness and hectic pace of November.

Silly as it may sound, NaNo's Young Writers Project has a pretty decent workbook online here. It goes over enough of the elements and structure of a novel to help get a WriMo well organized.

There are a lot of writing books with "30 days" or "one month" in the title, for example, Karen Wiesner, First Draft in 30 Days. However, these books tend to emphasize strong self-discipline and planning, somewhat at odds with the NaNoWriMo spirit.

Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird, has a wonderful section on allowing yourself to write a lousy first draft, as part of its emphasis on the creative part of novel writing.

Finally, Stephen King, On Writing, is a short autobiography followed by longer advice to writers. King's process for writing is not so different from NaNoWriMo. He likes "bad" first drafts written without much concern for quality. He says this about not plotting his stories: his method is to put "a group of characters in some sort of predicament and then watch them try to work themselves free." This is also the book in this list most likely to be on the bookstore shelves.
