I'm in Philadelphia and I don't know what time zone to check off in my user settings. What should I put?

I put - 4 00 because it matched the time on my laptop. Usually I thought this area to be -5 00 so I'm a bit confused, too.

My laptop says 5 00 too, I suppose that's the best time to put. Thanks for responding.

I believe the difference of the hour is due to daylight savings time.

Yeah, it was the time zone change. We're -5 00 again. I had a German friend telling me earlier that their clock change is a week before ours. Which means we're fortunate, because we get an extra hour to write while she doesnt. ;)

My Google calendar is set for Eastern Zone (GMT-5 hours) but I notice that when I add the Philly Nano calendar, that the latter is set for GMT. The events appear 5 hours earlier in my calendar.

I go off GMT -5 even when it is [or is not? I am a bit confuzzled as to what to refer to it since I don't keep track] Daylight Savings just so that I can think more easily of what time it is for my English friends. I don't remember ever needing to think -4 or -6.
