As posted by Asphodele in a previous thread, here are the further details...

VENUE: Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall (We will be in the cafe part at the back, go past the big brown couches and look for small tables.) Royal Festival Hall site

DATE: All Tuesdays in November (3, 10, 17, 24)

TIME: 6-8 PM

DETAILS: We'll have table signs that say Nanowrimo (and many laptops) so hopefully we'll be easy to spot. Keep in mind that it's a public place and we aren't an official event, so there will probably be a bit of a scramble for tables. We'll try our best to save spots and we'll also bring along two power strips to help with plugging in. Also, there are lots of food and drink options at the Southbank Centre if you're in need.

SCHEDULE: We know that a lot of people write better if there are actual times set aside for writing when there isn't a lot of chatter, so we have a (somewhat flexible) schedule. It's a public place so if you're more of a chatty writer you can of course make your own table of like minded people. Basically we plan for 15 minute chat times, and then 45 minute write times, to fill out each hour. Which would go like this:

6:00-6:15PM Chat
6:15-7:00PM Write
7:00-7:15PM Chat
7:15-8:00PM Write

We also have some Nano stickers, buttons, etc which we will give out at will at all of our write-ins over the month. (Big word counts, good progress, creative noveling ideas, etc!)

Hope to see many of you there!

Looks like the best one to go to, so I'm gonna try :D

Thanks for the schedule, I've never been to a writein so that's a nice better idea of what to expect :p (I know not everywhere will be the same, but still)

I'll be there with pen and paper in hand :) Just a few minutes walk from work and starts just as I finish up there, easy peasy!

Southbank Centre is pretty doable for me. The 17th might be difficult (my second lecture of the day is at no fixed time, that day it's 3-5pm) but the rest should be good. I don't have a laptop which means I'll be pen-in-hand and so restricted to basic outline stuff, but it's always good to get out of the flat for a bit.

Hi all, I'd love to come to this write-in, but due to the constraints of a full-time job I wouldn't be wandering in until half six or so...truthfully, would that be really annoying for everyone? A bit too disruptive?

No worries if so, I'll just stay here at my desk and try not to be distracted by my frightening inbox!

I'm sure we'll have a lot of people coming late because of work times (I may even be one of them - but don't worry, Asphedele will be there early) so no worries. If you do come in and people are quiet and writing, just find a spot and get to it! However, judging from the Costa one yesterday, people are quite happy to welcome a new person and then go back to work.

That's great, thanks Jenepel...I was actually one of the late ones at yesterday's Costa write-in, so wasn't sure if I'd get away with it twice!!

Looking forward to tomorrow!

I'm hoping to be there tomorrow. Not been too well these last couple of days but hoping I'm on the mend. I'll be one of the notepad and pen people. Am very behind so hopefully you guys can nudge me into triple figures.

I'm a bit sore throaty but up for this all the same.

I might even get down there early and get a headstart. Want to find me? I've got glasses, a beard, an eeepc and a slightly pained look when swallowing.

Enzo, we know what you look like *insert evil cackle of laughter here*

I'll be there early too. Look for a girl with darkred plastic glasses and a white notebook with a Camp Nano sticker. Will also have signs and power outlets.

See you all soon :)

Allright my peoples,

I'm sitting in the Royal Festival Hall, on the blue side, near a flight of stairs - if in doubt, ask for the ladies' room, I'm quite near that door too. I have plugs, signs, some tables and chairs, as well as yummy cookies. See you in a minute!

Back home now and wanted to say that I had a fantastic time tonight!!

This was my first Nano write-in and I enjoyed it so much. I was amazed at how much I actually got done by hand (over 600 words with pen and paper :D Quite chuffed with that), and to talk about the Nano experience and hang out with all of you was a great buzz! I'm still finding myself so impressed with how great a support it is to be around fellow wrimos. Everyone was so friendly and chatty tonight (well, when we weren't writing naturally), it was great to meet you all and I'm most certainly going to be there next week too! :)

Thanks again!

Jaykun - You're welcome! It was great to see so many people and to get to know new Wrimos - it was also amazing to have everybody write so much and be so enthusiastic :) Also we were quite the attraction around the Southbank Centre!

Audiofrog - Jenepel has the list of forum names, you might want to drop her a message about it, as I'm off to South London today and won't see her. Hopefully, we'll see you at the BL, even if it's a little late!

Jozie - Glad that you had such a good time! You were the sticker winner, weren't you? I'll see you and your friend at the next write-in, hopefully?

I know loads of ideas were thrown about yesterday, especially when we went to have drinks later - Sasha's Things To Put In Your Novel, for instance. Of anyone has ideas or suggestions on how to improve our write-ins, or for a particular challenge, event or contest, please don't hesitate to PM me or Jenepel.

How welcome are teens? I may make it to next Tuesday, although school is on which makes it a little awkward. I'm just thinking that if you all want to go hang around a a pub or something afterwards, an underage person will probably nor be particularly popuar there =] So I may as well go to the Costa Piccadilly one - ideas/thoughts?

Yup, that was me. Yay! :p I don't usually win stuff like that, so it was a yay and an "ack, everyone's looking at me!" :o

I'll definitely be there, with or without her, lol :D

homicidalhobbit - I didn't see your comment until after I had posted, but you should feel welcome to come along to any of our write-ins. We're holding them all at public places, and the possibility of pub afterwards isn't any kind of requirement or even something that always happens. I would say only about half of the people there went onto that after, mostly just because we were enjoying chatting. (Actually, we keep saying pub, but this time we were just sitting outside at a restaurant along the Southbank and happened to have alcohol.) There were a few people there last night who were 18 or 19, if I recall, and I know last year at the BL we even had a 12 year old come to one of ours. So yes, I hope you decide to come along! :)

Really really enjoyed meeting you all yesterday, everyone I met seemed nice funny eloquent and easygoing (no psycho internet serial killers... at least thus far!) Will definitely be coming to more (and hopefully bringing the guy that roped me into Nanowrimo in the first place; all hail Alex!).

Right I better knock out some words before I fall waaaaaay behind. See you all at the britlib tomorrow hopefully!

(as for pubs, I have to say I am a bit of a fan, I like the whole idea of the drunk bohemian writer artiste thing... still I'm sure I could be pacified with a coffee if it means we don't leave out any young'ns. As long as it's a bohemian coffee...)

This is still happening tomorrow, yeah?

(yes, I know tomorrow's date is in the topic, but I'm paranoid and really shy, so bringing people and finding it's not happening would be very very bad :D)

Also, the topic shifted to page 2, so I thought I'd bump it up. Yeah, that's a better reason. *nods*

I'm definitely planning on coming along with at least one other person. I might not get there until a bit after 6 though, as I don't finish work until 6pm and I'm coming from Kensington.
