Well... I haven't started yet. But I'm hoping to get quite a bit done tonight after the rugrats are in bed. It's fish-and-chip night which means no cooking YAY so I should be able to devote a good couple of hours to it. Hope the write in has been fun (don't eat too much American chocolate!)

Saturday's possibly better, but I won't know until midweek. But I shall do my best.

AIM... I only have msn. I should really download AIM.

and...... 2,636 words ... slowly getting to my personal goal of 3,334...

No talk of food... you're making me hungry.

I just hit 4056, which is better than I expected.

Kat, you're still 1000 in front of me, which makes me want to catch up :P Not that we're competing, but I find it's a good motivator if there is at least one person beating me lol

Made it to the Write-in (21 people as far as I can see) and I'm up to 592. I got all excited there for a moment because I saw "2,632" and then realised that was the character count, not the word count.

Amidst my exam study, I managed to get through my quota for the day. Hopefully I can make up another 325 for the night to make it an even 2000, I'd like to be ahead before I go into full on exam period.

Well, I managed to do better than this morning.

This morning I managed to write seven words "It was a dark and stormy night" - a completely original and never before used opening sentence.

I think I might change that... lol

*waves to Kat* It's quieter now...

Well I'm off to a poor start and I can blame my hubby for that. only 3k words. meh.

While I'm all for a nice afternoon delight, I really should be writing...

Mm, could have done with a few name tags. But I recognised most of your faces! I'm sorry I couldn't remember the names of anyone sitting at my table...

(In six years of Nanowrimo, that was my first write-in. Wow! I thought it would be really difficult to write with so many other people - writing seems like a bit of a solitary thing to me - but it actually made it so much easier! Thanks guys! :D )

Hi all...

very jealous of the 6k + counts Im seeing.

Ive done 868, but only cos Ive only just started writing

Sorry I couldnt make the write in. I was on water balloon filling duty for my nephews 10th birthday party! Theyve all only just gone home, and I still dont have a plot or storyline.. but thats ok, Im just going to write and see what happens! :)

So far I have a character named Alice and she has just been bitten by an ant... good start to a story I think! hehehe

Should be able to see you at the next write in. If anyone feels the need to do informal write ins at a cafe, kings park or whereever, let me know, cos Im planning on doing some. :)

Well done, guys! Between a friend staying over and Radio Scheds for the local Bush fire Brigade, I have realised that mornings really are my best time to write. So, over a broken period of 3 hours I actually managed 1995 words. It's over 1667, so I'm happy.

Tomorrow will be much better!

Jules.

Well that's a good start, just over 3000 with an opening I'm very happy with.

The write in was great, good to see a few more new faces within the crowd. In case some of you weren't aware, I was the one making all the bad jokes. It's a recurring flaw within my psyche :p

Yeah it was an awesome day, though I am feeling a bit sick from all the lollies.

on 5011 so far. I'm thinking it'd be kinda a good idea to try and get up to 8k tonight, make the working week a little easier.

Can't wait till the next write in.

I am all for more write ins! Today was great, and I have to agree that I wasn't sure it would be easier to write while with everyone else. But I loved it!

Name tags would have been cool, I am terrible with names, but I recognised a few faces from last weekend's get together.

I'm taking advantage of the momentum that I managed at the write in, and I'm going to see how much more I can get done tonight. That way if there is a day this week that completely drains all cognitive resources, I won't feel too guilty about not writing lol

Well I am currently planning to write like a crazy woman between now (6:49pm) and midnight. My kids are in bed and hopefully there will be no interruptions. And no I did not send them to bed early. They are in bed by 7pm every night. lol.

2092 words. Which is my record for a nano in a day (normally I get distracted very quickly). :)

All of that written at the write in, having only decided what I was going to write about on the bus on the way in.

Hopefully I'll improve on that tonight while watching terrible movies, hiding from the boy who has a major assessment due.

OK, so I've just started writing using Scrivener, and I LOVE IT. Do you know it counts the words at the bottom of the page.... as you write them?!!

So far I've written 5. XD But I had to come on and just marvel at how cool it is.

And congratulations you guys at the write-in (and not at the write-in) who have done so many words today! Wow! The cool news is that Dekalb is only just getting up... Just imagine their faces when they see how awesomely you've done today.

I had such a lovely time at the write-in :-) and it was really helpful to have that edge of competition to keep me going. I hit chapter block badly, had to break past that so that I finished up halfway through a scene so next time it's easier to keep going. Big lesson learnt there.

Another vote for name tags *insert embarrassed smiley* I remembered about five names, I'm ashamed to say!

I'd be up for some informal write-ins, as long as it's not more than about half an hour away :-)

1880, though I hardly consider the day over yet. :)

The write-in was awesome, even if I didn't reach the 2000-word goal I set for myself. Looking forward to next weekend's write-in!
