So, first morning in - have a little over 5,000 words so far - and one of my characters has totally gone somewhere I had not planned. Had an outline, had a plan, had the "time and placed" mentally mapped out - for naught. The characted just up and decided halfway through a conversation to go somewhere else. I love this stuff. Congrats on the great start! I've been working on this plot for about a year now and so I was really excited to start on it. And then something happened. My muses threw the plot out, took up a new one (and refused to tell me anything about it), and started to run madly with it. I have NO idea where this story is going. The plot isn't revolving around the same characters at ALL and that's really all I can tell.
Oh well, at least I'm not the only one. We can "suffer" and get through this together! :D

Naughty characters wandering off without telling us beforehand.
I've already met two characters who just decided to invite themselves into my manuscript. Luckily, they don't seem to want to interfere too much with my original outline, just add some bulk to it it seems.
