Okay, so if any of you are students without cars like me (and my bff Krissy), you'll have already experienced the utter disappointment that was missing the kick-off parties. Yes?
So, would any students on campus be willing and interested to do a write-in sometime later this week or something? I'd love to meet everyone, and that way we don't have to feel left out for all the write-ins happening off campus.
Responses?

Hey!
I don't quite live on campus, but I'm a student and live very close. I'd love to have a write-in on campus - any ideas of a good place?

Hey! :)
Anywhere, really. :P I really love the slanted grassy area outside the Admin building, so maybe we could do there one time. Krissy found a balcony on the Optics building with a great view that might get the creative juices flowing, too. Is there anywhere you'd like to try?

Actually, those two places sound pretty perfect to me! I love the 'grassy knolls' near the union!

Yep! :) We'd have to do it closer to dusk, though, because otherwise the glare of the sun would make it hard to read our computer screens!

Becki, I cannot believe you are using the sun's glare as a reason we should type outside at night when it's COLD. (Darn, Tucson, and it's cold cold weather.) However, due to having a life (freaking time-waster that it is), night is pretty much all I can spare.
I also have a few other places in mind, if we wanna type somewhere different each time. (Of course, some of them I need to figure out how to get to...)
Also, go move your UA email over to the CatMail thing! We can use the "CatCalendar" (really, the UA is not very creative with the name thing) and plan out meetings! Cuz we can all share a NaNo calendar! Plus, plus! We can upload documents and stuff to share too! It's really very nifty, kind of makes me wish I'd gotten a gmail account a while ago. AND they work with all of the Mozilla products, so that's REALLY nifty.

I'm really down for wherever on campus! Oh, and this somehow slipped my mind, but I work at Canyon Cafe in the union and we're open till 11. I work until 8, but we have wifi and there are usually some tables free in the evening. If not, there are some tables in 3 cheeses available!
Also, if there's ever a write-in or a Tucson nano event that I can go to, I do have a car so I'd be happy to give up to four people on campus a lift :)

I live close to campus without a car, so a write-in on campus would be awesome. We might be able to get one of the big study rooms in the library, but they're usually pretty filled up

I'm stuck on campus as well. I'd totally be willing to join in whenever I don't have tons of homework.

We're thinking Wednesday at 8pm in the honors study room at the Union. Then we can get food, have plugs (something I hadn't accounted for until my laptop almost died today), and comfy seating good for an hour or so of writing! :D Who's in for that?

That's a great idea. :) Make sure you mention that it's the upstairs honors study room, right by Cactus Grill (I don't know if there's another honors study room somewhere else). I'm so excited now!

You'd all be willing to try another, no? ;) You might just learn my real name. >_>

lol. Don't worry about it--Krissy and I were the only ones who actually *could* make it, apparently. We'll plan another one, but probably not until next week. :)

Omg dude so in. Too bad I missed this thread last week, but I'm glad we're scheduling some other time.
I'm kind of stuck behind the counter at Starbucks for a good nine and a half hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but other than that my days are pretty free. I'd love to meet up.

As far as I can remember, I'd be totally okay with something on Friday.
What do you all think? I don't know campus all that well (whee, freshman), and I don't like going out of my element, so I have no suggestion for where we could meet, but... Anyone have any suggestions? This sound like a good date? Any suggestions for times? I'm in class until 3pm, personally.

Okay, how about this: Friday the 13th (ooooh, spooky) from 7-10pm. It can be cut short or go later depending on who shows up and how long everyone wants to stay. :) I'll post this in a different forum topic too, to grab people who might not see this entry.
Let's do the Friday write-in at the honors lounge in the Union. That's upstairs, the smaller study room diagonally across from the Cactus Grill, on the south side of the building. Anyone who doesn't know where it is can go ask the information desk by the food court on the first floor.
Give me a confirmation to let me know if you can go (and will actually show up)--last time no one showed, so it was just Krissy and I chilling out there. Which is all fine and dandy, but the best part of Nano is socializing with other writers. So RSVP to this! :)
Thanks, guys!

BTW, the info desk is closed by that time, so check out this:

The Honors room is on the last page, very bottom right. Honestly, though, just go to Cactus Grill and you can find it. :)

Okay, since we got no actual confirmations, I'm just going to call off the write-in. Clearly the gods of literacy and creativity don't deem it so.:P Sorry to anyone who was thinking about coming--maybe later in the month?
